They mentioned that it was a problem with their old tools, and to fix this problem, we need to wait for her eventual VU.

I remember the post Riot commented too. Here's my guess. I think it was from her old original splash art before her launch when her clothes were actually her tails as you can see here

Notice she doesn't have ears at this time.

but after her splash art was changed(to what is it today) her tails and clothes became seperate entity but somehow these changes didn't get reflected in-game.
