I agree, if they're going to do ponytails on skins for champions that don't originally have them, they are going to have to put more effort and volume to them.
Just look at Challenger Ahri and Order of the Lotus Karma. Especially in Karma's case, there is an extreme difference in volume between the splash art and the ingame model.
