It's been heavily hinted in quotes from both Poppy and Aurelion Sol, and most people agree. And I also agree that it'll be awesome if they keep him as an alien dude! I'm not entirely fond of how they've been forcing champions into factions as of late (E.g: Nasus, Renekton and Xerath) so it'll be good to keep an outsider :P

What you're saying is a little contradictory. If they keep him an alien and make him part of Targon, they're giving him a faction. o.O

And Nasus, Ren, Sivir, Amumu and Xerath have always been part of the Shurima desert, it's just that until Azir came along the Shurima Desert-which has been present since the very first map of Runeterra- didn't have a city-state identity to go along with it.

Sivir was an ex-Noxian turned mercenary and Nasus and Renekton were literally from a different planet in the original lore :O

That'd be hilarious. Where would he fit? They have tiny buildings in Bandle City.
