A Critique on the Snowdown Map

First of all, I would like to issue my thanks and appreciation to Riot for allowing players the option to play on a winter/Christmas themed map even if this is coming a little late.

I also like the fact that we were allowed the option to toggle it on or off.

Overall, the map looked spectacular and I cannot help recognize the effort placed into making it work flawlessly in parallel to the standard map. Bringing such beautiful cosmetics to the game is one accomplishment in and of itself worthy of recognition. But seamlessly incorporating it into the game so as not to disturb or interrupt the actual game play with zero bugs and hiccups is truly remarkable.

So, again, thanks for all of your hard work and effort.

I have only one complaint about the snowdown map in general and that is the seemingly inconsistent lighting. Many areas of the map had abnormally harsh lighting and I've certainly noticed that the standard theme is significantly dimmer by comparison.

When I first started enjoying Snowdown, it took some time for my eyes to adjust to the brightness. And, when I returned to the standard theme, it took me additional time to readjust to the considerably dimmer theme.

This had nothing to do with the settings I use for the game, but, rather, the lighting effects used in either theme.

I hope that in the future, the art department at Riot takes lighting effects into careful consideration when creating new visual themes for Summoner's Rift so that there is little to no disturbing differential.
