Something big is going down in Demacia...

And when I mean big, I mean history defining. Let me explain:

First, we have Galio. Instead of being just the average blue gargoyle, he is now a MASSIVE white colossus, meant to protect Demacia, and he only wakes up when Demacia is in need of protecting. Even his teaser image that was released last week is titled "The Hour of Need".

Next, we have Lux's new VO.

https://youtu.be/rxu9gNXrnrY

One of her new lines, which is obviously aimed towards J4, states: "I'm a Crownguard, but you wear the crown! You're a Lgihtshield , but I wield the lgiht! Uh...speaking metaphorically, your highness."

And lastly, we have a comment from Jaredan, the Senior Narrative Editor for Riot (he's basically in charge of everything lore wise), of which he jokingly made towards the new Demacia player icon: "Ahh, the design for Jarvan III's new ceremonial flower stand. I wondered where that went. "

What do all of these add up to? Well, I'm guessing that Demacia gets invaded by......something. It could Noxus, it could be something entirely different, we just don't know yet. But, it is safe to say that Demacia is in some pretty deep.......you know.

So deep, in fact, that the current king of Demacia, Jarvan Lightshield the Third...

#IS KILLED.

Why did Galio awake? Why does a king need a ceremonial flower stand? And why does Lux say that J4 "wear[s] the crown" if J4 is only a prince?

So, in the coming weeks, along with Galio's release, I expect we are going to see another wave of stories come out, detailing 3 things:

  1. Demacia gets invaded by something (we don't know what this is yet). Because of this, Galio awakes.
  2. During the invasion, Jarvan III is killed somehow (we don't how, or by whom)
  3. After the invasion, we get to see the coronation of Jarvan IV.

Remeber though, that this is all specualtion. J3 could very well be alive and well, and I'm just reading into this wrong. But the current evidence we have all points towards what I just detailed.

Let's see what happens, shall we?

Leblanc posing as JarvanIV kills Jarvan III. Conspiracy theories from Dominion images finally comes to pass.

I betcha Sion gets used.

He Prolly just mows right through Demacia until Galio stops him. I mean, he is a one man alliance of armies.

It could also be that J3 died like, idk, a normal, old, man. Look at J4. He doesn´t look like he is 20, means his dad sure got some years. Since Demacia is all about honor pride and loyalty, I suppose they would give their King all the ceremonies even if he just went to bed and never woke up since he is old n shit. Ofc J4 is next in line for the crown.

What actually further supports the idea of something going on in Demacia would be that a Rioter mentioned that Galio will go back to being a Gargoyle like statue when no Magic is around.Demacians dislike Magic, though. Would mean something non- demacian may be going on, and they were like, fight fire with fire ( Magic Stone Guardian vs Magic User, making him the Kind of Anti-Magic dude he´s supposed to be.).

That leads to the Point, if Demacia dislike Magic, why would they create such a Guardian in the first place? Galio is ancient, probably from the very first years after Demacia´s founding, it could be that they have not always been so...anti Magic, and Galio is from that time? And something went down the Drain and they were like," Alright, fuck this, we´re out, Magic sucks, we keep that gargoyle tho, just in case!" ( Obviously meant as a joke but you never know). Fact is, Demacia dislikes Magic. And they are VERY isolated. Maybe there was something in Demacia´s past that led them to the belief that acting this way would be better for them, since I can´t believe they were like "Oh we founded a new Country, let´s say no to Magic and also ignore all the other countries!". Galio could really help shed some light on Demacia´s past with his lore.

Sion Why, yes! This is a new jaw! I'm glad you noticed!

Where did it come from, you ask? Oh, nowhere special.

I think you're overreacting. That something big is a lore pass on Demacian champions just like they did with Zaun and Targon before them.

I guess Galio's awakening could mean something but as you can see, ALL OF FUCKING RUNETERRA is on a goddamn cliffhanger with almost all of it's events.

I mean look at it, The Freljord War approaching, The Void Invasion approaching one to harbor a being so terrifying and powerful it is the single most powerful entity that for the first time made Aurelion Sol feel fear, Ryze's World Runes, Skarner being awakened, The Shadow Isles growing uncontrollable notably the Harrowings, Shurima rising once more, multiple Aspects being called upon which is said to be a sign of great catastrophe or change in the Universe, Aurelion Sol himself returning to Runeterra and a ton of other stuff that's on a goddamn cliffhanger.

No wonder this game was originally called "League of Legends: Clash of Fates" except that we haven't seen that clash yet.

This is all so intriguing! I'll be watching and waiting for this Demacia lore eagerly.

This means we also might get a Traditional Galio skin for after he fails to protect J3

Ill let you know when people actually care, as of right now, Lore serves no purpose. I hate to sound like a dooshie but honestly there's no point, if you enjoy it, good for you. But this game is losing players left and right, what good is lore if people don't even care about the new stories champions are getting that they themselves as mains don't even appreciate?

If he indeed dies I hope is Sion the one that kills him

That urgot tease though. Noxus v.s Demacia could include a new champion from each side. Especially if the champion design team was taking longer for the champion after WW, it would make sense that their creating two reworks at a time.

I expected the 'is killed' line, but somehow the words shocked me a little.

It shouldn't be "your highness" if he's the king, though...

Illâoi Evê Siôn3/7/2017, 10:21:02 PM2 votes

Does this mean we'll get a King Jarvan Legendary Skin?

Not to piss on your parade but you are aware of crown prince/princess? It could be referring to his position in a romantic sense (like they can't be together).
