I'm just looking at what the reworked version of this "ultimate" skin is, and as someone who actually owns this skin, I can say I'm pretty disappointed.

When I heard he was getting worked on, I thought he'd be put on Udyr's and Lux's level, where he has different lines when he did different things. Ez could have been phenomenal if you gave him different, manlier quotes every time he upgraded his ultimate ability, the same way his skin does the same. But no, he's just a legendary skin at most - different lines, but nothing special.

Secondly, basically every single particle effect Ez had is getting toned down, too! Every single flashy thing to his kit is now more fleeting and less flashy. Even his actual skin is a darker shade.

Come on, Riot. What do you have against this guy?

Riot stated in the Ask Riot ask year that the skin would NOT be the same quality as current Ultimates like Sona and Lux. They would have to do far more work on it inorder to bring it up to those standards.

I think the update itself is quite nice. They got the voice actor in to do an extensive amount of additional lines, they had the animations updated for the Recall, Death, Teleport. Textures updated for all 4 models. Cleaned the particle effects up, they are much smoother and not so noisy. They spent at least a good 6 months of work on this.

Yes, it is more Legendary tier now, but of course that's to be expected when it was the first Ultimate skin from 2012, vs the current year of 2017. Ezreal in-general needs some more love visually on quite a few of his other older skin models as well but that won't happen till they deem him in need of a VGU. So this, was the best we were going to get for an Ultimate skin update in the amount of time they did. Hell, they didn't even give Galio's Legendary all the legendary perks for his update (he doesn't have a unique dance or certain animations).

They also do not get much time for these kind of opportunities as they have said they like to look forward. This clearly only came up when it did because of the new Pulsefire Caitlyn skin, so they had to give his something to try and bring it up a bit since hers will always be a bit nicer as it's a newer skin.

Six months to remove some particle effects, make his existing skin darker and put a guy in a booth for at most an hour to spit out some lines? Really?

How did they "remove" anything? They made them smoother and less noisy. They were very pixelated and distracting, that didn't look good at all. The textures of the skin are also better cause they aren't so grainy looking and outdated.

You're basically admitting right here that they just had to throw a little shit-show together to compensate for actually giving a damn about the skins that'll profit them more. That's the problem.

You'd think Riot, a team of 1000+ people, could do more than around four champs and three reworks per year. They spend basically all of their time on skins, because a penny is worth more than a smile to these "free to play" hacks.

They actually used to do around 12-15 champs a year but in the end that proved terrible. Why? Because they were far more imbalanced than they are now. They do at least 6 champs (when time permits) and 4 major reworks, plus 2 class reworks a year now. This helps them get better designs and overall feedback in so they can continue to fix things if there are major problems. When there were far more releases they would have WAYYYYYY more work to do and even less time.

Plus skins team is one group of people, the champion team is another, champion update team is 3 groups of people, art team is one, lore team is one, ect... they go on. They do work together through out various parts of these projects. So they are giving what they can. It's still a much better set up than what they used to do.

Yeah, no shit they did a sloppy job to save money. If I thought they did such a thing for any other reason than "Doing more would benefit people who already paid too much money, and that wouldn't benefit us," I along with every other sucker who bought the skin wouldn't be so upset by their decision. They should have let the skin rot for another year and did an actually good job on the skin later.

Hey, I'd have preferred that. At least the previous particle effects wouldn't have been removed and replaced with mere static everything.

Firefighter Tristana actually got a pretty decent amount of updates when Trist was updated. They gave her new auto attack effects (as before she didn't actually shoot water in those), plus some decent sound effects now; thus making her more of a 1350 style skin.

Because Riot won't update champs unless they either A. Have a legendary skin, B. have a ton of skins, or C. Will get a skin in the next two days? Because Riot calculates how much money something will make before they even consider doing it?

Enough of us Pulse Ez owners have already paid too much for that skin. It would have been nice if they used some of that money they conned out of us in a charitable manner for a damn change.
