I'm just looking at what the reworked version of this "ultimate" skin is, and as someone who actually owns this skin, I can say I'm pretty disappointed.

When I heard he was getting worked on, I thought he'd be put on Udyr's and Lux's level, where he has different lines when he did different things. Ez could have been phenomenal if you gave him different, manlier quotes every time he upgraded his ultimate ability, the same way his skin does the same. But no, he's just a legendary skin at most - different lines, but nothing special.

Secondly, basically every single particle effect Ez had is getting toned down, too! Every single flashy thing to his kit is now more fleeting and less flashy. Even his actual skin is a darker shade.

Come on, Riot. What do you have against this guy?

Riot stated in the Ask Riot ask year that the skin would NOT be the same quality as current Ultimates like Sona and Lux. They would have to do far more work on it inorder to bring it up to those standards.

I think the update itself is quite nice. They got the voice actor in to do an extensive amount of additional lines, they had the animations updated for the Recall, Death, Teleport. Textures updated for all 4 models. Cleaned the particle effects up, they are much smoother and not so noisy. They spent at least a good 6 months of work on this.

Yes, it is more Legendary tier now, but of course that's to be expected when it was the first Ultimate skin from 2012, vs the current year of 2017. Ezreal in-general needs some more love visually on quite a few of his other older skin models as well but that won't happen till they deem him in need of a VGU. So this, was the best we were going to get for an Ultimate skin update in the amount of time they did. Hell, they didn't even give Galio's Legendary all the legendary perks for his update (he doesn't have a unique dance or certain animations).

They also do not get much time for these kind of opportunities as they have said they like to look forward. This clearly only came up when it did because of the new Pulsefire Caitlyn skin, so they had to give his something to try and bring it up a bit since hers will always be a bit nicer as it's a newer skin.
