Championship Riven 2016

Skorch··2 votes·1,205 views

Why is 2016 in the name of the skin? What purpose does that serve? If it's to differentiate the old from the new, the people that got the old riven got the legacy border didn't they. I don't know. I just think its ugly.

it's a re-release of the skin with updated textures

but why do they change the name?

Moonboy651 votes

there is no name change

Championship RIven 2016 is a seperate skin

Why didn't they just update the old one?

Moonboy651 votes

because the old one is a limited skin (not in the store, will not go on sale) and this one is Legacy (for people who didn't get to buy the original skin)

people who own the original skin get a vintage border and crown

in other other words, Championship Riven and Championship Riven 2016 are 2 different skins

They did update the original... it's got the re-texture, a crown, special load-in border... aka special things for peopel that already own it.

The fact that 2016 is in the title is to show the difference for those that own both as they get the 2016 version for free along with their updated vintage 2012 version. So they can chose to play as either one.
