I was looking at Swain's new arm and then it hit me

It reminds me of Cinder from the show RWBY.

Not saying it's good or bad, just interesting. Anybody else notice this?

bit of a Grimm comparison i feel.

A lotta good it did Cinder against Raven, right?

Haha yeah >:D

Gonna be super honest I was extremely satisfied with what happened. The writers handled it very well. (Trying to avoid giving out spoilers).

Aren't they new writers? I heard the main writer up and died in 2015.

I have no idea who was actually responsible for that bit of the plot. Monty did a lot of pre-planning and work, some of it was documented and some of it was not. They tried to preserve his vision but there was only so much documentation. If he had notes about that particular encounter / plot twist then it may be thanks to him, or it is possible that the new writers did it.

tldr; I'm not trying to attribute the credit to anybody over anybody else, I'm just pleased with what happened.

Yeah I'm not familiar with the plot line, I never could get into the artwork/style so I haven't seen much more than a couple episodes.

I just know that a lot of people have talked about the change in writing since he died being rather drastic.

Ah okay then.

I haven't noticed a drastic change so much, but that may be because I'm a casual viewer rather than a super invested fan.

Come to think of it things have changed quite a bit, but it's not for better or worse, it just is. And part of the reason for that is that they didn't have much more to explore about the original part of the world that the story began in. So it makes sense that they branched out, and honestly I loved that because of the world-building they did.

I enjoyed the show, the characters and powers are cool, and their storylines and character development are really interesting. And some of the villains piss me off to no end, which is a compliment to the writers, it means they made a really good villain. Like, honestly. FUCK CINDER. She's such a shit-hole person. But hey, it's good writing and she drives character development for multiple heroes because of her horrible actions.

back when Evelynn was released I made some comments suggesting I would like to meet the character in a dark alley while I'm equipped with a good 'ol Louisville Slugger. I felt the same way about Cinder. Some villains are just so infuriating.

What's better than a good villian you love to hate eh?

Well I can think of one thing, namely low blood pressure. But that's more of a me problem rather than the writers' problem.

Tehehehee, league does enough to my blood pressure on it's own. Maybe I should steer clear of rwby after all.

HalcyonDweller2 votes

Haha maybe. I feel your pain there. It's so easy to tweak out over this game. We love it though XD

Monty as far as i know did the big picture of the show but left the little writing to Miles and Kerry. Monty iirc never claimed to be a good writer himself and thats why he talked to them to help with the show. Miles and Kerry were there from the start.

That's good to hear :) I'm glad some of the OG of the show is still around to guide the story.

And they've done a fantastic job!
