Recently we got a Riot Kayle skin.... which made me realize that in the original game (League of Legends; Clash of Fates) and for a few years, Kayle was the mascot of the game.
She was then completely abandoned in favor of Katarina and Ryze. Why was this?

Ryze was pretty much leagues mascot for most of the time. Kayle was a bit more prominent,but she was never near mascot-status.
Kayle was said to be important to the Main Lore of League of Legends, the same with Morgana. So it's implied she will return to the spotlight around that time.
