Still waiting on a story about new Trundle that justifies deleting an interesting character and replacing it with a generic one.
Also still waiting to figure out who won in the Freljord.
Freljord only recognizes one name as its Queen and it is Stark.

There is no proper justification for removing Trundle other than that it has been done.
Riot does not care about their old lore and their old characters, they'll happily retcon everything they dislike. They don't care that some of us do care.
They're making a new world with new characters. They'll do this their way and then show us the result, assuming we'll like it. And there will be people that like it. Issue is, in five years they might just abandon their new world again, unfinished as it will be.
Riot has lost my trust, has done nothing to regain it. They've had ample time to realise they've made a mistake, admit it and to fix it, or announce they're fixing it otherwise. I've stopped caring about Riot and their lore as a result. Any investment I'd make in Riots lore, of time or emotions, would just be thrown away carelessly by Riot. Because that's exactly what they've done already. Twice.
There is no war on the Freljord... yet.
Only Sejuani is trying to provoke a war.
I legitimately wondered recently if another Trundle retcon could be a thing- Maybe it doesn't even have to be a retcon, just something to connect his old lore with the current one.
Overall it is more about having future possibilities for him. New trundle currently serves under Lissandra,but he plans on backstabbing her,this creates already the basis for a future lore update,where he finally tries that,which can lead to interesting results depending on how successful he is. Also his past is still unexplored,so there is a lot of room to show why he became like that.
But again..old Trundle had no story afterwards. He had no reason to fight.
He found out that he can save his people by giving the curse back, but decides to let them die cause they were jerks to him and stay in the League of Legend.
Now that the League of Legend is no more: What would the story of old Trundle be now?
And then Udyr joining him.. ugh
Well look at the Freljord war this way: It's not over.
RIOT only cares about Lore as long as it helps them to sell skins or boost champion sales. As soon as that is over, they dont even remember they have lore. They used to, but that was long ago...
How can you have a Freljord war with a conclusion..? Sejuana's sides win. Ashe and Lisandra are dead and to be removed as champions? This type of game cannot have a conclusion.
Why does everyone herald old Trundle as a champion of lore? When old Trundle was around I absolutly refused to spend any ip on him because the old Trundle was a bland nothing. New Trundle may not have a great new lore but at least hes interesting.
