What are Champions do you think wouldn't be released today (or desperately needs to be updated)?

I think given the shift in League's lore direction and tone, some champions probably wouldn't ever be released today in their current incarnations. They're either too goofy and out there to fit with the League aesthetic. I'm not saying these are bad designs, but that they're designs that wouldn't fit with today's incarnation of League which I see as semi-serious/edgy/dark fantasy.

And in my opinions, most yordles wouldn't pass muster.

Corki The aviator goggles and mustache looks stupid next to new Sion and new Urgot. They look like they're from two completely different games. I don't even remember Corki's lore except his vehicle is called a ROLFcopter.

I think if Corki were released today, he'd probably have a tragic backstory about how he worked so hard he neglected his family and left him and then they died because he was too busy tinkering and then he gets this idea that if he makes a flying machine he can fly so now Corki spends his time patrolling the skies of Piltover hunting the dragon or something.

Rumble Like Corki, Rumble's tech doesn't fit in with the new Piltover designs. Nothing else looks like Rumble and Corki's steampunk style whereas most of Piltover's steampunk is futurized/sleeker steampunk. I THINK he had a thing (love triangle) with Tristana/Teemo?

If Rumble were released today, he'd probably be some jealous psychopath with a Veigar/Napoleon complex and builds the biggest mech to be the biggest Yordle around and goes around rampaging.

Amumu A yordle mummy is kind of bland compared to a lot of the newer champs.

If he were released today, he would probably have a more 'Pharoh'-look to him instead of just being a small thing wrapped in bandages. He'd probably carry a casket or something to show he's a tank and have a bigger head for tears OF BLOOD.

What champs do you think wouldn't be released today (or desperately needs to be updated)?

Talon Has a knife cape for some reason, never mentioned in the lore, he doesn't use it neither in game or lore. Has an armblade while historically and realistically holding a dagger or a sword would do the same job better. Somehow turns invisible, somehow makes blades float, somehow gets all those knives from somewhere while people like Katarina and Zed etc has at least some small knives in their models. I mean there are a lot of reasons why Riot avoided updating Talon for this long like Yordles. He is kinda... useless and his plot is kinda unimportant too. It's certainly not a coincidence he was released after Assassin's Creed started gaining popularity, not at all!

Fiddlesticks

Granted, his goofy look and name is part of his charm, but really. What about Fiddlesticks, appearance or name-wise, says "harbinger of doom"? Veigar and Nocturne at least sound evil, but Fiddlesticks? No.

I feel like (new) players who don't read/care about the lore might be confused as to what exactly Fiddle is or what his purpose is, as right now, he doesn't really fit that fantasy of "scary harbinger of doom". He's more of a legend, a ghost story, something some asshole teenagers would learn about and immediately go fuck with horror-movie style. He sounds like a thought-form, something people made up and it took shape as a physical entity. I would really like Riot to go this rout for him, rather than making him a demon or just some ghost.

As for his appearance, he doesn't really say "man strung up and left to starve in his own field". He's just a scarecrow with a noose around his neck. Maybe make him more human, but not too much? Make him unsettling, but not 100% scary? He should keep that silly feeling, but still come off as "well that's kinda freaky", especially if he becomes a thought-form born from a ghost story that someone made up.

Overall, I like Fiddlesticks the way he is, lore and appearance wise. However, he could use some work.

Shen, at least not in his current iteration. I definitely think if Riot released Shen today he'd be way different because he currently lacks thematic cohesion.

Most of the yordles who use modern technology seem well out of place in current League imo. Ziggs and Heimerdinger make sense as they’re blending in within Piltover (a highly technological/industrial society), but a champ like Tristana who’s supposed to be part of a fae-like realm of existence doesn’t really seem to jive well with the current setting given her style and weaponry.

Well Rumble isn't from Piltover though, he is from Bandle City. And honestly the champions who have the biggest connection to Bandle City are Teemo and Tristana who both give off a rather militaristic vibe. So Rumble(and Corki) using war machines does make some sense for them, however I really doubt that the aesthetic of these machines will really fit bandle city once we get some info about the place, so your points will likely still stand.

I'd also say that MasterYi with his weird goggles and Annie with her cat-ears wouldn't be released nowadays but they're likely considered too iconic for the characters to be changed.

Kennen would also most likely not be made today, as he doesn't really fill any special ninja archetype that the others aren't already filling(the standard ninjaShen , the kunoichi Akali and the shredder expy Zed ), his most outstanding theme is that he is a lightning mage, but I guess that nowadays they'd make him more mage-like.
