Why do people think Nasus is the creator of ascension ritual?

It's literally changing lore like you're a riot writer. Worse thing is some people assume Nasus can age other creatures, walk through time and drain souls (assume it like it's confirmed).

Okay, firstly nasus is the creator of the ritual. He was the one who had the knowledge of the cycle of life and death. Secondly its not that renek and nasus couldnt beat him. Read the lore, it sayed that since they were immortals none of them could die. They couldnt kill each other so they just sealed xerath away with renek too. I think you are misunderstanding the lore on that part. Nasus can drain souls of other creatures, age every creature at his will, walk through time etc.

Well, only because 1 or 2 random persons on reddit think that, it doesnt means that most of the people do the same.

I mean, this guy is saying that Nasus can "walk through time", even if he cant... the dude is obviously a biased Nasus main talking about his own headcanon.

Even is he is correct about the part that they are immortals and none of them could die

shurima is getting the shadow and fortune treatment so new lores all around people are making theory's to see how close they can get and the aging and soul stealing is related to his w and passive as a way to fit his ability into the lore. it's all in good fun dont get so bent out of shape.

every thing here is a theory, that is the point of this broad to quote a rule of this board "DO talk or speculate about existing stories or art in the League of Legends universe " if you think some one is full of it, reply with that's wrong or where is your source . these board are for discussion until lore comes out the pipe line. and unless they used the termed "confirmed" it's just their theory

I was under the assumption that he was one of the first if not the first Ascended along with Renekton. I personally think being one of the first is more likely, but that's just me.

The aging thing comes from his in-game abilities, which are usually a decent read for in-lore abilities to an extent. I at least know that for a fact - the fact that the assumption there exists, not that it's true or not.

Just to note, Nasus is not Ascended but instead a Demigod along with Renekton. They were guardians of Shurima until Renekton was corrupted so now its just Nasus

No they're Ascended. They were once human. We have four Ascended in game: Nasus, Renekton, Xerath and Azir.

Nasus and Renekton ascended to combat a dire threat to Shurima, Xerath stole his ascension from Azir, which destroyed the capital city and everyone in it. Renekton threw himself at Xerath and dragged him in to the Tomb of the Emperors, before yelling at Nasus to seal them both inside. He hoped to keep Xerath contained but was driven mad by Xerath in some way. Then over a thousand years later Azir was resurrected and granted Ascension.

Overall people tend to overestimate nasus. I mean all nasus ever did in the lore was fighting Xerath and even then he and renekton couldn't kill xerath and renekton had to sacrifice himself to imprison him(and in the old lore nasus didn't do anything aside from fighting renekton) Yet people almost always talk about how lorewise nasus is supposedly one of the strongest champs,reaching almost god-level.
