Dear Riot, I ask again, what happened to Irelias new splash art?

So it's no secret Irelias splash art is pretty crappy, some people joke saying the only reason you buy a Irelia skin is so you never have to see her Classic skin. Both in game and in splash art the classic skin looks terrible. However one year in 2015 during a LCS game i believe we saw a leak of the new Irelia splash art and it looked AMAZING.

However for some reason the art was never completed and never made public. Since than Riot has yet to give the Irelia splash art any love and it's really starting to be a odd thing.

Will Riot ever make a new splash art for classic Irelia? And what happened to the art that was in progress? Did the artist get fired and no one ever finished it?

Current one is shit imo, problem is that she looks so thin and like a person who hasn't eat for 3 weeks. Also her background is lame. Just green color instead of making something.

Old splash art is again meh and this one new is still garbage. Better to make a whole new one.

Looks like they are saving the splash update for her VGU. Because if her whole image of a telekinetic bladeswoman changes significantly in her VGU, then they would have to redo the splash art again.

At this point, they're likely waiting on her VGU to even bother. Otherwise they'd end up having to redo it twice.

The art on the post looks great, but i think it might be unfinished from the head down.

Riot said that Irelia is planned for a full VGU, and i believe that they will probably ship the full version of this art along with the VGU.

I like current splash art for Irelia quite a lot. I hated the old splash art so maybe my perception is altered from being relieved that I don't have to see that splash art again, but I am legitimately fond of the new splash art. It is one of my favorite splash arts from the globalization of splashes.

Although her current splash art is better than her old one, Id love to see a new one with the quality on par with Order of the lotus

I remember seeing someone point out the random green background in the current splash and now I can never see anything other than irelia in front of a green screen. someone edited in a background in that green space and it looked really great
