@Riot - Champ Updates leading to Skin Upgrades?
It's been a short while since the last major champ visual update, and a thought occurred to me. Most of the update champs thus far haven't had any particularly thematic skins that have needed anything more than a slight color change to abilities or a small sound effect tweak. That's all well and good, but I'm curious what would happen if you guys were to go all out on a champion visual update on a champion with some really fun possibilities on what is currently a cheap skin. Would you keep it simple and just update the appearance, or would there potentially be a 'skin upgrade', where it could be bumped up in price in exchange for getting some new details, effects, or sounds put in place?
As an example: Bandito Fiddlesticks
It's a fun skin with a good theme where crows still make sense. However, like the unique party sounds on his Surprise Party skin, I feel like it would be hilariously fun if his ult featured gunfire, bullet ricochets, and maybe even a custom take on the old 'Mexican Hat Dance' song. It'd be silly and likely bump the desire for the skin up a great deal, but it would also be much more work than simply bumping up the quality along with the rest of his skins during a routine update, likely requiring a similar increase in price.
Other examples might be Frosted/Nottingham Ezreal getting icy/arrow effects, Obsidian Malphite having some fire on his abilities, Unique tea-related boxes for Mad Hatter Shaco, etc.
There seems to be plenty of space to make some older skins awesome given their more unique and interesting themes, but their current price points rarely justify that level of effort, and it seems a shame to miss out on that kind of potential.
