Looking to develop a "Support Assassin" Champion, and need help brainstorming

"What do you mean by 'Support Assassin'?"

Essentially, it would be a Champion who, like a Support, provides benefits to teammates and can't easily kill enemies on their own, but like an Assassin, can cause an enemy squishy to die VERY quickly. How does this work? This "S-Assassin" (for short) would place certain debuffs on a target, making it extremely vulnerable and allowing allies to quickly snipe it. This would not just be stuff like crowd control, but things that cause the target to take extra damage and the like, while also isolating the target so its allies cannot save it in time.

"Why would we want this?"

Most compositions today are better when you have AOE rather than single-target annihilation. Supports generally lean toward the AOE side of things, with a few exceptions (i.e. Braum). A Support who lets his/her teammates obliterate a target in less than a second would be cool.

"What sorts of skills would this Champion have?"

That's something I'm still working on, but I have at least two skills for the kit that I like. They are below, but remember that they are prototypes; they will be subject to change.

Archaic Curse

Deal modest magic damage to target enemy and mark it for a few seconds. Basic attacks from you or allied Champions onto a marked target deal bonus magic damage. The bonus damage proc is X% weaker than the last for each consecutive hit. EX. 100 -> 80 -> 64 -> 51.6 -> etc. (if damage were to decay at a 20% rate)

Implosion (this would be an ultimate)

Fires a projectile that deals magic damage to target enemy Champion, stuns it for 1.25/1.5/1.75 seconds, and knocks away all nearby enemies, dealing magic damage to them as well. The projectile can be intercepted by other Champions.

I'm hoping to make such a kit for a Harpy Champion. I figure Mount Targon needs more in its roster.

Anyone wanna help? Post up your ideas.

Poppy - can build tanky, has a stun, and can assassinate if fed a bit. Also people play her as support from time to time.

I think you need to investigate more into the goals of the support playstyle vs the assassin playstyle. Coming up with individual skills may be part of it, but you need to really piece together a play pattern that would be reminiscent of those two roles. Just because a support can single someone out/ enabling your allies to do more damage doesn't mean that its an assassin because then Leona and Nami would be an assassin by that definition.

Assassin are defined more by the risks they have to take to cause big damage. While a support relies on play making / enabling to secure kills with the help of allies. Look to champions for inspiration...I suggest Nidalee & Ahri. Both are ranged "assassins" with the former being classified a "support" for some time. I'll leave that up to your interpretation.

You cannot have a character who both can and cannot kill the enemy. There is not middle ground. This is a binary equation. Either a champion has the capacity to be an assassin or they don't. And if you give an assassin the utility and relevance of a support than you are officially high off your ass, and I have to get a hit of whatever you're smoking.

Yousosmart, might I offer a potential solution?

I have been considering the effects of a Support Assassin champion. Apparently, the close I can get towards an Offensive Support is Braum Braum. However, he was mainly built for a Tank Support, not as a perfect Assassin. The addition of an Support Assassin champion would be very interesting to be seen in League. I'm currently prepping for the October Champion Concept Contest, and I am in need of a good champion concept to play with.

With your permission, might I expand on these ideas in my Champion Concept? I won't take everything listed here as mine, but I'll use this as a basis to figure out my champion. I'll be sure to give you credit where it is needed!

Please respond soon, I really hope we can work together to design a champion that we both like!
