[CWC] Civil War Contest

Welcome to the Civil War Contest! First things first, please see the inspiration of this Contest here. Verbiage may be honorably borrowed from this post.

I wanted to created a contest that was less intense in its judgement and scoring, and more based on the creativity to LOLized existing concepts into the game, with a little theme. As of right now, it is a one time event, but based on feedback and popularity, it may run again.

The overall idea is to have two groups separated based on a theme and have all the concepts from those two groups fight against each other in a Civil War like style.

#Scoring and Judgement

The system of Judgement will be simple, with the only the entire team of villains or heroes taking the win in a all or nothing fashion. Voting will be done on a separate post, with only one vote per person for either Super Heroes or Super Villains in regards to who would think would win in a civil war battle with the concepts entered. When that time comes, please look at the top of this post for the where to vote.

Highest count of votes at the end of the voting deadline wins. Please note that non entrants can vote as well.

#Entry Requirements

  1. Limit ONE entry per player.
  2. Concept Entries MUST BE AN EXISTING CHARACTER FROM A FICTIONAL SETTING, BE IT FROM A VIDEO GAME, MOVIE, TV SHOW, BOOK, OR ANY OTHER APPROPRIATE FORM OF MEDIA. It does NOT have to be from the Civil War movie to enter. You are taking the character and putting them into League, as you best see fit.
  3. Characters from another MOBA, such as DOTA or Smite, are not allowed.
  4. Multiple entries of the same character are allowed, but there must be significant differences in them for the second to be eligible. Two people submitting a concept for Link from Legend of Zelda is fine, but them having essentially the same kit is not. Maybe do Links from different timelines, or try and approach the concept in a unique way that others would not consider. Early bird gets the worm, however, so get started on your concept ASAP!
  5. No WIP Concepts please. This contest is here to encourage complete content. WIP Concepts will be disqualified and / or ineligible for entry.
  6. Concept Entries must be YOURS. If the linked Concept's author and your name are different, your entry will be disqualified.
  7. All entries must at least have a KIT and OVERVIEW section to be considered a concept. By overview I mean a suitable description of the character, why their kit makes sense in relation to the character, alongside any other information you think is necessary to help the everyone cast a vote with confidence. More (such as stats, role descriptions, quotes, gameplay descriptions, etc.) would be needed to become highly competitive, but to proceed to voting, you need at least that, and there is nothing wrong with simply a minimum. Concepts without these requirements by the time voting begins will be considered a WIP Concept, and thus disqualified and / or ineligible for points.
  8. Entrants can be disqualified based on rude behavior towards other entrants / judges (though negative feedback, so long as it is constructive, is fine), as well as disregarding of the Universal Forum Rules (no, porn is NOT a legitimate reference image, and characters from franchises that are not appropriate to forum rules may also be at risk for disqualification). Other major problems may also qualify.

#How to Enter

  1. Post your concept normally within the Skin & Champion Concepts Board, if it's not already posted.
  2. Reply to THIS POST with a link to Step 1. Some characters are not so oblivious on their villainy or heroines. Please clearly state which side your concept is entering on when entering.
  3. Wait for me to reply with "Entry Confirmed!". I will check the board at a minimum of once a day, with multiple times per day being normal. If I do not respond to your entry or question, please remind me!
  4. Watch the "Current Entrants" List above and double check that you're up there, if you are, then you're in!

Note: There is no max number of entries, due to the judgement structure of the contest.

Wait so is the voting based off the lore power level of the character? You say its based off who would win in a civil war, so is it not based off how well designed the concept is?

This is my last post since you guys are the moderators can you clean up the excess posts if you have all the information you need i apologise for the mess and thank you for your feedback I would also love if you could give me some balancing tips on my other concepts I love leauge and am sad to see what's happening but I have many ideas which can probably be implemented to return fans and bring out some reason for some changes eg runeterra story line progression intro for new game modes, skins, zone and champions just check out my "Ozhirim" concepts

Entering with Sakuya Izayoi, the Scarlet Devil's Maid from Touhou Project! I honestly have no clue if she's a hero or villain, but I'm just gonna SAY "hero" because tbh she's the hero that the Scarlet Mansion needs but not the hero it deserves.

That would actually be a funny ability now that I'm thinking about it, at the beginning of the game he flips a coin and if it lands heads, he stays on the team he's on, if it lands tails he swaps teams. And for that matter his entire kit could just be a massive troll-fest.

I do enjoy these kinds of contests, but I do agree that it should be kept to one entry per person. Of course, in a contest like this one, where judging is based on which team of champions would win in a fight, I could see allowing "two" entries, but two entries of the same character. One entry would be the "balanced" version that should theoretically be playable in League, and the other would be the more "accurate" version, in the case that the "balanced" version isn't true to the character's actual strength, whether it's buffed or, more likely, heavily nerfed compared to the actual character. Nasu010's Dormammu entry is a good example of a character like this, being an incredibly powerful character that's really hard to make "balanced" without cutting out major parts of the character's strengths and abilities. So I could see allowing both a "balanced" and an "accurate" version of each concept, and then judge each version of the match-ups separately. Of course, this time around we don't need to have that, but it would be cool for future contests.
