What's in a name? That which we call a champion...

...by any other name would still be frickin' sweet.

So I have a question for the skin and champ designers: Have you ever considered a skin that changes the name of a champion? Something like:

"Stacy, Singed's failure of an apprentice" This skin would basically just be a very similar model to Singed with the same abilities and special effects, but would actually be a different character completely in the lore.

Obviously this wouldn't be a very interesting twist on Singed, but the concept opens up a few ideas.

The basic gist of it is that it's sort of like a "Ultimate lite" version of a champion skin. There might be a champion that would never fit thematically with a skin concept (because it's completely counter to the character) but if the skin was a different character completely with the same mechanics, you could have a lot of fun with it.

Suppose that you wanted to do a version of Singed that had no shield, no giant canister on his back, and the abilities were tied to some other feature. instead of a glue spot on the ground, it was a black hole. Instead of a trail of poison, it was electromagical energy. instead of flinging someone behind him/her, he/she would teleport the target through the space-terror-vortex and they'd appear behind the champion. The abilities all match Singed mechanically, but would be drastic changes to the lore. In this way, you could introduce a new character, tie that character to a champion, and make a new skin that would be pretty sweet, without being forced to tie them to the champion, or ignore lore.

I suppose it would be like if Spirit Guard Udyr had been "Haarnjal, Udyr's Master who trained him when he was a wee lad." or something along those lines.

It's still sweet when a champ gets an Ultimate skin and it's just "aternate universe ezreal" or "holy crap imagine if sona was the dj," but I'm just sorta thinking out loud.

Part of what inspired the line of thinking was the upcoming Marauder/Warden skins. At first, I thought there was no champion inside the armor, and they were just going to be hollow, which would have been pretty sweet. (A "hollow armor" set of skins would be pretty awesome for every champion, even if champs like Jinx would be hard to see). I was like "Would that even count as the champion at that point?" And then I ended up here.
