[Champion Concept] Iouea, a Stranger from a Strange Land

SSmotzer··3 votes·816 views

With rough, porous skin, this odd creature seemingly just walked out of the sea. With a cloak of other worldly material, it uses it to hide it's face and body from prying eyes. With a youthful curiosity, it wanders Valoran, observing anything and everything around it, seemingly baffled by human emotions and motivations, but always ready to defend itself from harm with the most emotionless of actions."

"So many creatures in this land, so many feelings, so many games they play."

Melee Support/Fighter

Passive - Quiet Observer: As long as Iouea remains passive, it ignores unit collision and can not be targeted by enemy minions or turrets.

Q - Study - Passive: The more Iouea "Studies" a type of monster or enemy champion, the more true damage it takes.

Active: Iouea launches a skill shot in a target direction that tethers onto the first large monster or enemy champion. After a few seconds have passed, the target is "Studied" and becomes revealed and for a brief moment X% of the damage they take becomes true damage (+X% for each stack of "Studied" against that target)

W - A Strange Magics: Iouea drops a fourth dimensional object at a target area. Allies can click on the object and they are sucked into it, briefly becoming untargetable. If an enemy gets near it, it will suck them into it, briefly making them untargetable, but afterwords they are stunned and are dealt true damage for a few seconds as if they were "Studied."

E - Otherworldly Illusions - Passive: Whenever Iouea places a ward, it becomes a visible ward and to the enemies, it looks just like Iouea, including it's idle animations and it's health appears as if they are attacking the actual Iouea, when in reality, the ward has the same health as the type of ward Iouea placed.

Active: Iouea will blink to a target area and 3 other copies of Iouea will spawn in random areas around the point it blinked from and the illusions will wander away from the area it blinked from for a very short distance before they despawn.

R - Take Action: Iouea flies into the sky and for several seconds it becomes untargetable and it's abilities are changed.

Q - Assume Direct Control: Iouea can cast this ability on target allied minion or turret, gaining control of them and buffing them and dealing true damage to it's targets as if it was "Studied." This ability can only be activated once.

W - Stasis Pod Drop: Iouea targets an area and after 2 seconds, the closest champion to the center of the targeted area becomes Stasised for 2 seconds. This ability can only be activated once.

E - Cloaking Field Engaged: Iouea targets an area, that area now acts as Brush for several seconds. This ability can only be activated once.

R - Rebooting: At the end of Iouea's ultimate duration or activated early, Iouea descends at a target area and after 2 seconds, Iouea and all allied champions around Iouea have their health reduced to 5% their maximum heath but after 2 more seconds, they are fully healed.

seems like a void being????

Alien. Iouea is part of the race that enslaved Aurelion Sol. That's why Iouea calls him a number and Iouea knows Bard, who is also an alien.

oh but i dont think targon is an alien race maybe im wrong

Of course Iouea is emotionless with hard skin that needs to reboot from time to time, so Iouea may not be the exact race that enslaved Aurelion Sol, but the product of that race.

Seems cool and love the idea. Just some questions on the studied mechanic. How many stacks of studied can a creature have how fast are they applied and do they decay? Nice mix of utility and damage with an interesting mechanic.

At once, 100, turning all damage they receive into true damage after being "Studied."

For a stack to be applied, you would need to land the Q, then stay within range of them until the tether kicks in, after which they get a stack and the true damage effect only lasts a few seconds once the tether activates. Also the W can activate the true damage effect for a few seconds as well but it doesn't add to the stacks. Death probably either resets it or cuts the stacks in half.

Velkoz Another knowledge-seeking alien?

SSmotzer1 votes

Well, the two are opposites in terms of personality, Vel'Koz is a butt hole who seeks knowledge at all costs, where Iouea is more of an observer. Also Vel'Koz is from the void where Iouea is actually an alien, who's goal is to find out what happened to Targon, cause in Aurelion Sol's lore, Sol was enslaved by a space fairing race, founded by Targon and something is weakening Targon's influence on the cosmos.

Also Iouea is a robot, or as close as one can be made of alien magic and it has a crush on Orianna.
