Anti Mobility Champion [concept] @Riot and @Playas

I don't really like doing this kinda thing, but I've seen some people pretty angry at mobile champions, and I thought I would just brainstorm a champion concept for an anti-mobility type champion.

I'm not worried about base stats right now, and the numbers obviously aren't final, like it matters anyway.

Given the nature of the kit, s/he will probably be a tank support/bruiser, or a jungler.

Before I start, I'll invent my own CC called a "cripple". Cripples are used in all kinds of games, it's a status affect that impairs movement abilities. If someone is crippled, it will be as if their movement abilities are silenced. Anything like a dash/jump/blink etc, will not be usable. Including flash. This won't impair speed modifiers like Hecarim's E or Jayce's gate.

I'll call this guy Toddd for short. (the third D makes him unique)

[Passive]-> How about more movement speed based on negative status effects on enemy (and/or friendly) champions within a certain area? I feel like it would synergize well with his kit. If this is too much, I'd like to actually see a negative passive. Maybe have him be 10-20% less tenacious.

[Q]-> A chain/pull type ability. It will tether onto a target, crippling them. After 3 seconds or so, it will pull the target towards Toddd. You can reactivate it to root them for 1 second.

Okay, his Q already seems a bit overloaded but I have good intentions behind it. It's already a very strong CC ability, so it may not have damaged attached to it, and will have a lengthy cooldown (think Blitz Q). The cripple itself isn't huge, it's just a lockdown tool for mobile champions. Outside of this, it's a conditional pull that has a safer option. You could risk them getting away with their speed abilities, or you play it safer with less risk/reward. The goal of this ability is simple, it creates a high risk/reward, low risk/reward option defensively. Usually assassins have abilities like this, not a tanky bruiser character, and not usually in order to CC something. It's unique like Toddd.

[W]-> I'm going for another cripple, but this time for damage. At this point I'm just shooting for a jungler, this being his clear ability. It will only be a very short cripple, 1 second at the most, and it's an AOE damage ability that activates once (think Amumu's Tantrum).

I think that's all I want to leave it as, I don't want to overload this ability with complicated passives and what-not, and since there's already similar abilities, I didn't want to make it seem better then them. For example, it's like Amumu with the CC on it, right? But Amumu's gets a lower cooldown when he gets attacked.

[E]-> For this I want a dash or something similar. I know, it sounds weird that a mobility hunting champion would use mobility, but he has to keep up somehow, right? Not a huge dash, a re-positional type ability. If he runs into a champion, they get slowed, and if he runs into a champion and a wall, he can tether them to the wall. Then, the ability gains the same mechanics as his Q, crippling them. After a while it will pull that champion back to the wall or he can reactivate to root them. Here's a kicker, though: If he has someone crippled using his Q, Toddd himself becomes crippled .

For this one, my logic was pretty simple. How are you supposed to catch someone you can't...well catch? I see this ability as a way to position yourself correctly for you other abilities. Also, I think it's pretty sick that you could tether someone with your Q, and once they get pulled to you can you E them into the wall. I dunno, that just sounds like a really tricky combo, that rewards skilled players and looks pretty fancy as well (#LCSBigPlays). It seems pretty crazy that he'd have an ability like this, but I'm still wondering whether or not it will have damage in the first place, keep that in mind. It might be totally useless without teammates around.

[R]-> I'm not quite sure about this one. I'm thinking something along the lines of a big AOE, like Trundle's Frozen Domain. In the middle, is a wall. The idea is like Morgana's ultimate, but instead of being attatched to morgana, they're attatched to the wall. This will not cripple them. They will have ways to get out of this ultimate, because it's so powerful. The idea is that while they are at risk of being pulled to the wall, you are busy making sure they get pulled into the wall. Chain CC is obviously a thing too, rewarding teamplay.

The idea behind this (I feel like I've been saying that a lot) is to control the teamfight, keeping those pesky mobility champions in line. Their biggest advantage is being able to go wherever they want to around the battlefield. Toddd is designed to stop this from happening.

Besides his W, which he will need to clear, (if he does become a jungler, otherwise I'd rather it be changed) he will have very little damage. Because of how much CC his kit has, I'm thinking of adding a steroid to one of his abilities. Maybe when his ult is down (I'm thinking of it being a huge flag of inspiration or something) he gets a buff of some kind, ideally movement speed and ap or ad.

Possible background concepts:

The burly knight-type person (we don't have any of this, right??) How about someone who used to be the best warrior around, who used to be chained up, like Alistar, probably for being falsely accused for something. Eventually he escaped one way or the other, and uses chains to fight because reasons.

I feel like this is pretty close to size of lore Rito has been releasing (ha ha snarky snarky. It's obviously just a rough sketch of what could be, suggestions welcome.)

The magical wizard...tank? Dude...? He was a battlemage (snicker). I have no idea if any entity on Runeterra had something to do with battlemages, so I'll leave that one to Rito. He could use magical tether like Karma, LeBlanc, etc.

Honestly the only reason I have these two different backgrounds is because they would make his tethers look different, I personally prefer the warrior-style one myself.

Basic summary: When I started typing this, I was somewhat skeptical. I didn't make this guy because I was personally irritated about mobility champions, but because the community was. Looking back on him, he's pretty good if I do say so myself. He's got the LCS big playability, the combos, all kinds of shit. If there's one thing I didn't accomplish, it was the simplicity in my opinion. A lot of people have been asking for it and looking at his kit, I think it has too much little things in it for that to work. My goal was to create someone who just told mobility champions to go and fuck themselves (pardon my french). I wanted somebody who made people scared because he was around, like Blitzcrank, but for different reasons. Sure, he could pull you in, but the fact that it was inevitable if you did get caught (depending on the champion, obviously, hecarim probably wouldn't give a damn) made him much scarier. Maybe he could pull you and had to root you instead, then he had another chance if he gets a good E off.

When coming up with this, I didn't want a champion who had no counterplay, but a champion you had to counter-play differently. At no point during his CC chains can you not fight back, unless you are 100% melee or something like Udyr (who I want to point out, can speed out of his cripple effect). The only point you can't fight back is during the pulling animation, and I think it would be pretty cool if it worked like Caitlyn's R, where he basically self stuns himself, going into a pulling animation until his opponent is about half way there and he can re-position in the few milliseconds left of the pull.

Please Rito, take a look see at it, and please community, give me some constructive criticism. (just saying 'it's bad' helps no body in any way)
