[Champion Relaunch] Mordekaiser the Steel Will'o'Wisp
Hello, considering the whole hate threads on Mordekaiser. Needless to say I agree after the PBE change where Mordekaiser was stripped of his metal identity. I was sorta fine with the new kit as long as they continued to polish that one, but seeing as there's no response on him, I have to assume the worst.
Mordekaiser the Steel Will'o'Wisp
Title change for 2 reasons. Play on words and alternation to lore. Steel is an obvious thing, and Will'o'Wisp with the Will for unbreakable spirit and Wisp as the undying entity residing inside the armor.
Abilities Outline
Passive Armor of Torment
Mordekaiser is constantly tortured inside the armor losing health over time during combat up to certain amount of healths to which it will stop until Mordekaiser is recovered up to above 75% of his maximum health. After a delay of losing health, the amount of health he lost is converted into shields lasting as long as Mordekaiser is in combat. Once it expires, Mordekaiser cannot convert his health to shield for a duration.
[Rather than converting damages to shield, he convert his own health to shield to fit in the whole tortured spirit but his ego remains unbroken and refuse to submit to it.]
Q Mace of Condemned
Mordekaiser's next basic attack are swung overhead dealing massive damage melting part of his mace into a pool that deals damage to enemy units that pass through over time.
[Rather than that stupid HURR DURR 3 HIT FOR YAY DMG. This allows Mordekaiser to get both damage he needs up front and an option to enforce crowd control allies that he should be having while also controlling his wave clearing ability.]
W Creeping Death
Mordekaiser parts with half of his shield health and orders it to chase after an enemy champion, during the chase, the spell deals a third of the parted shield's health damage to enemy units it pass through. If it manages to catch the enemy champion, it will briefly snare him (like a split second) dealing the parted shields' health in damage. If another enemy champion intercepts Creeping Death, it will instead snare that one dealing damages as well.
[The old W returns with a rework. A very very very gentle CC brought in, and only has an impact if it's timed right with a gank, otherwise it's there purely for damage. Ties in with the Iron Maiden concept as well.]
E Will Conquest
Mordekaiser torments enemy units in an area to sap their life energies to sustain himself, if enemy champions are hit by this ability, their life is slowly sapped giving Mordekaiser an increased regeneration. Minions gives Mordekaiser a very small flat heal per unit. (Think Leoric's W from Heroes of the Storm)
[Rather than generating shields for himself, he heals from it allowing him to sustains with balance in his Passive. This also support the idea of how Mordekaiser might sustains his existence in a dire need.]
R Child of the Grave
Mordekaiser marks an enemy champion for death, gaining increased damages toward that champion and increased regeneration source from the champion. Should the enemy champion perish during Child of the Grave. Mordekaiser immediately unseals his armor and traps the slain target inside trading his spells for the enemy champion's adding his own Shields on top of the deceased plus bonus magical damage every hits if Mordekaiser is a distance away from the slain target, the corpse is instead teleported to Mordekaiser and sealed inside him. If Mordekaiser is slain during this Body Possession, he instead eject the corpse and survives with a faction of his maximum health remaining. The items the enemy champion purchased will not be transferred to Mordekaiser. Only the stats that belonged to enemy champion will be traded with Mordekaiser's stats assuming the latter's are not higher.
[Instead of having a pet, he uses the enemy champion as his own personal body to stall the torment of his armor by tormenting that corpse instead. Offers a very unique experience of Body Meld/Possession allowing Mordekaiser to be whatever the team may needs provided he targets a niche champion. For example, if Mordekaiser's Marksman ally is expected to die, Mordekaiser may target the enemy's Marksman to carry on the Marksman's duty. Or if Mordekaiser's team wish to ambush any target, Mordekaiser may use this target as a means to overcome objectives without risk of dying himself, unless of course the enemy team intercepts the objective. The possibilities are limitless.]
I'll be blunt, I'm not strongly suited to a long lore writing, or writing in general. So brace yourself, the lore may not be a great read.
Lore
Whispers looms around, rumors floats among denizens of Runeterra. Gossips of a being known as Mordekaiser. Some says Mordekaiser was once a king of the forsaken kingdom ruined by ancient war, another says Mordekaiser was formerly a knight punished for a crime worthy of the strictest condemnation. Nonetheless...Mordekaiser did existed...no rather, he still exists. Regardless of how he lived, the fact is how he died. Trapped within a dark suit by means of a curse, the Paladin could not break free, his future stood a continuous torture to his death. Centuries, Millenniums, he did not die, he wanders, bound by the maiden of iron. He would not die, he did not desire death. He did not desire salvation. What is his desire now you say? His sole desire is... Domination. Complete domination over everything. Control is the purest humankind motive, yet it was not his motive. It was something he looks forward to for an eternity. His obsession was on a whole different level compared to a typical human being. His soul had transcended those of a human... It would be suffice to say he was no longer a human. He is now a malevolent will with a single goal. Once he succeed at his goal, the only thing that would awaits him is nothingness. Control of nothingness means controls over everything. His spirit is bent to the hell and back to achieve his mad wish. Nothing would not stop him. Everything would not stop him. His pride, his will, his ego would not allow anything to even obstruct him. For he is the Will'o'Wisp.
