Gameplay

As a champion, he carry around parasitic abilities along with the original dragon powers. Serving as a disruptor and a damage dealer, his role is a mage. All of his abilities are magical damage. He does not have resource.

Passive Void Parasite Due to the parasite, Leviathan has foreign desire to annihilate and consume. Leviathan gains 3/6/9/12/15 (+0.15 AP) additional damage on his next attack every three seconds up to a maximum of 10 stacks. If an enemy champion takes this damage, Leviathan heals for the same number. This does not have cool down.

Q Parasitic Teeth With the otherworldly hunger, Leviathan's next auto attack bites the target, and the parasite in his body drains life from the target healing Leviathan over time. The modified auto attack deals bonus 10/25/40/55/70 (+.8 AP) and heals Leviathan for 30/75/120/165/210 (+.4 AP) over 3 seconds. Requires 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds to cool down.

W Lock Wings Leviathan selects a nearby enemy champion and locks his wings on them dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+.5 AP) preventing them from getting closer to Leviathan. While locked on, Leviathan gains 5/8/11/14/17% increased movement speed. During this time, Leviathan's Parasitic Teeth becomes Parasitic Wings, and drains the lock target and nearby enemy units healing with 20% increased heal. If the target do not breaks the lock within three seconds, they are dealt additional 20/30/40/50/60 (+.7 AP) and takes 3/5/7/9/11% increased damage from Leviathan for three seconds after the lock. The Lock has a tether range of 550 units, and break threshold of 750 units. Enemy champion cannot come closer than 450 units toward Leviathan during Lock. If an enemy champion is closer than 450, it will automatically push the enemy champion back to 450 units length from Leviathan. Requires 16/15/14/13/12 seconds to cool down.

E Desolation Leviathan breath out a dark energies in a path. The cloud of energies deals 7/10/13/16/19 (+0.15 ap) every .25 second as long enemy units remain in Desolation. The cloud remains for 6 seconds after reaching their max length. Maximum length the cloud can go is 1250 units, and has the width of 350 units. Require 16/15/14/13/12 seconds to cool down.

R White Noise Leviathan generates noise from the void and purple energies that surges around his body. Noise bursts out up to 1250 range rapidly affecting nearby enemy units reducing their magic resist by flat 15/25/35 and marks them with 'Madness'. If Leviathan's purple surge damages marked enemy units, they are feared for 1.5 seconds and are dealt 90/150/210 (+0.6 AP) each second for three seconds, if Leviathan continues to stay near the enemy units after fearing them, they are dealt additionally 65/75/85 (+0.35AP) each second. The surge lasts for 8 seconds. The surge has a range of 475 units around him. Require 140/125/110 seconds to cool down.

Extra Recall Leviathan under influence of the parasite begins to move its flesh toward the wings to take flight back and clumsily flies away at the end.

Death Leviathan crumbles to bones and the parasite leaps out of the body, and explode after trying to find another host.

Quotes Champion Selection "I wish to see my children."

Attacking "Kneel lowlifes" "Such novelties are not worthy of your flesh." "For my child, I shall do what I must"

Walking "Is my daughter over there?" "Is my child in the region?" "Do not test me, summoner."

Death "Freed at last." "May I be damned for this."

Special Interaction

Attacking Shyvana "Forgive me my girl." "Kill me."

Shyvana participate in champion kill with Leviathan "You've grown strong, Shyvana."

Upon contact with Kog'Maw "Hello son." "Your daddy is coming."

Skin Redeemed Leviathan Instead of being void-like, Leviathan is now a full-fledged dragon in color of blue scales like his daughter. His spell particles are no longer purple, instead it's red. His recall has been replaced with a proper dragon flight. His death animation changes to an identical appearance as Shyvana in her dragon form.

Doom Bot Version

Leviathan's basic attack always splash with his passive. Q is now a permanent Parasitic Wings with increased range. W does not break and grants him a shield on cast. E shoots out extra waves around him. R leaves behind the surge similar to Shyvana's Dragon W

Playing As Leviathan is a mage with the attribute of bruiser, he has potential to always heal at all time. Take advantage of it. Leviathan has no way to escape, have a proper awareness of your surrounding for possible ambush. item 3151 item 3116 are the most beneficial items for Leviathan, have them as your core. Leviathan automatically push if he grows closer during Lock Wings, use this power to your advantage during Desolation.

Playing Against Leviathan cannot attack you during Lock Wings, however he can use Q on you. Remember you cannot approach him while he has Lock Wings on you. Move out of the 750 units range, then re-enter with a gap closer to demolish him. Carrying Magic Resistance items will bear fruits against Leviathan.

Champions Utility GalioMaokaiFiddlesticks Combined Ultimates makes one beautiful team fight. KogMaw Push away an assassin for Kog'Maw to kill. Shyvana 'Fuck you, we're dragons.'

Enemy Champions to watch for Cassiopeia She outdps you at all time. LeeSin Troll mobility. Olaf What Crowd Control? CaitlynJinxTristana Can't push us back if we out range you.

Facts Lock Wings does not knock you back. It simply forces you from being close to Leviathan, you can move around, do things, but you cannot get close to him. His Passive as it has no cool down allows him to have bonus damages at all time. The only restriction is the five seconds between stacks. Three different ultimate ideas were attempted and deemed unfit for Leviathan. Leviathan was originally going to be the dragon that killed Shyvana's father.

This is actually a really cool idea and probably my biggest competitor for the contest.

The kit is at war with itself, though. It's not explicitly stated that Leviathan is ranged, so I'm assuming melee, which means about half of Leviathan's kit is unusable without being in melee range. If you're fighting another mage, this can only end poorly - you're stuck at a shorter ideal range than almost every other competitor, leaving you at a severe disadvantage.

In spite of that, though, the numbers and details on your skills are horrifyingly off. The passive, for instance, is a free 40 damage at the start of the game, with seemingly no way to remove or lose stacks. The W is just unfair - the target needs to break away from you, but you move faster anyways to keep that from happening. While you could compare it to Morgana's ultimate, the difference with Soul Shackles is that it often hits more than one champion, meaning Morgana has to keep multiple champions in range, which allows them to break away. Lock Wings targets one champion, preventing any distraction from taking place.

The E's wide area of effect is very interesting, actually - a spell meant for area denial as a form of crowd control. It's rendered quickly overpowered by the ratio, however - as written, it's a 0.6 ratio per .25 seconds, meaning you deal 2.4 times your AP every second. A simple Doran's Ring takes level 1 damage from 7 per tick to 16 per tick - 64 damage a second. The wide area of effect ensures at least a second if you can hit with it, and if you have some means of crowd control handy, that's easily a few more seconds added on. Come mid-game with 200 AP, you are dealing over 120 damage per tick, meaning tossing this into a teamfight after any initiation is an automatic victory.

Similarly, the range on the R - 2050 units - surpasses the distance between the two middle towers. As such, it is already out of hand. That it does very, very high damage on top of that cements Leviathan as overpowered so long as you don't field him mid-lane.

My personal recommendation is to focus more on either the mage aspect or the fighter aspect. Champions are generally made for the primary role, and mostly by happenstance fall into the secondary role. Trying to make a direct hybrid usually ends up with a muddled kit that doesn't know what it's doing - in this case, your Q and W are perfect for a fighter, but inappropriate for a mage, leaving your E and R as your only ranged options, which in turn contradict the up-close approach of the Q and W. Once you've figured that out, check the LoL wiki for comparison numbers, and try experimenting with the numbers and ratios you've assigned. Plug in AP values, add base damage, and see just how much damage gets outputted.

Really I can't stress enough how cool this concept is. I'll be watching to see how it evolves.

Alright, to start, this guys sounds pretty damn cool. You pulled off a dragon Champion quite uniquely and awesomely. That said, I would like to comment on a couple things. Take them as you will.

Firstly is the name and title. Honestly, I feel that if one is going to make a character with a name from an established mythos, the character should reflect that mythos. Leviathan is a giant sea monster from religion (Christianity I believe...), and so for a character to be named after this I feel, to pay homage to the original concept, it should be at least be that, a sea monster. Then the title, Demon Dragon, I don't feel fits. "Demon" I think would be better associated with the Shadow Isles or the Darkin. Seeing as how this guy is a resurrected dragon with a Void parasite, it might be better to have the word "Void" or "Abyss" in his title (Abyss can also be used as a subtle reference to a sea monster as well).

I like the lore. I was expecting this guy to have a typical lore such as "great dragon that destroys a lot of stuff and whatnot", but you actually made a pretty unique story combining seemingly unrelated characters while addressing a known view from a new angle. I loved how you combined the concept of Kog'Maw's father with Shyvana's.

On abilities and role, I think you could've cleaned it up a bit, or at least clarify what you're trying to describe.

  • Passive: You state this guy is primarily a mage with bruiser aspects. With that, I don't know why a primarily mage character would have a passive that builds up attack damage. If it was something like he converts a % of AD into AP or basic attacks build up his ability power, that'd make more sense to me. Also, I'm assuming you are saying each subsequent attack deals more damage then the last, am I correct? Just the way you worded the description makes it a bit hard to understand.
  • Q: Sounds fine, and I think it fits well thematically for this type of Void-infested/resurrected dragon.
  • W: Again, I think you could've worded this to be more clear, but does this guy use his wings to keep enemies away from him a certain distance? If so, I feel this conflicts somewhat, unless I'm missing a major point here. If this guy ranged or melee? If the latter, why would a melee mage-fighter want to keep enemies at a distance? As a bruiser doesn't he want to get close to his enemies so he can pummel them? And since his Q changes, does that mean he limits himself to only be able to use it on the enemies he's locked onto? I can see that severely hindering him in teamfights, as he's basically down two abilities from contributing anything else. Nevertheless, the ability itself sounds neat. I see it functioning better for a tank-support or something though.
  • E: Again, this ability is sound as it is and seems neat. I feel there's a bit of an identity crisis going on here though. Where do you see this guy throughout the game? His passive makes him seem like an auto-attacker yet you suggest he's a mage. His Q makes it seem like he wants to get up close to his prey yet his W keeps them at range? His E, at 1250-length, now seems to put him as a long-range mage like Vel'Koz or Xerath. At this point I'm not really sure where this character's supposed to be in a fight. If anything, I would suggest envisioning just where this character's position on the battlefield is and then design abilities around things that best suit them in that area. -R: Right now you're Champion just seems to have a hodgepodge of abilities thrown together that are mechanically cool yet don't actually mesh together. Perhaps I'm just missing something here, at which point I'll be glad to hear what you actually envisioned for this guy. The ult now suggests he's a support that sets up areas of favor. Plus, the radius is absurd; that's about double Trundle's W. When I see a kickass dragon that's a mage-fighter, I expect an ult that devastates an enemy or the area around him. This feels lackluster to that expectation.

As I said though, great ideas here. I just think you could make this more cohesive gameplay-wise.

I love the contrast between the GIANT VOID MONSTER archetype and his motives.

Call me crazy, but is it me or did you just make Kog'Maw and Shyvana... brother and sister? o.O

Those who occasionally check in, I have changed Leviathan's ultimate. I believe it may provide more benefiting kit for him.

So this is going to seem a bit off the wall, but in terms of tactics against the W lets assume the following scenario:

1.) We have a mage assassin mid lane. 2.) Leviathan manages to 1v1 top and roams mid 3.) Mid-laner is pushing hard so is middle of lane between rivers 4.) Leviathan manages to flank mid-laner and get W 5.) mid-laner flashes.

So in this scenario and based on your current explanation of his W functionality, would it be safe to assume that if the mid-laner where to flash to the opposite side of Leviathan that his W would then work against him, pushing the mid-laner closer to his/her own tower and allowing for easier escape?

His passive seems a little overpowered due to giving him constant damage and healing(which is already a bit strong in his abilities.) How about giving him like a Yorick ultimate for a passive? Once he dies, the dragon crumbles, but if there is a friendly champions corpse within xx radius, then he will take over that body for xx time granting him their abilities(like his story-line states about the dragon)?

Attention all who browse this piece, I am going to 'clean' it up and clarify things better at the request from my red friend I had a brief discussion about six to seven days ago as of this day. Unfortunately, I could not give it better clarify due to me leaving on a vacation five days ago. My friend mentioned he'd like to try and bring this champion concept to the designers to at least see if it can work out, he also gave me a few advise having been involving himself in few champion designs. So bear this in mind. This concept will have word and few additional things changes sometime after September ends as to not confuse the judges judging it for that one fun contest starting this month.

I will however bump this when I make changes, so keep an eye out!
