#Unique Passive -Dragonsteel-: Increases your base armor value by 30%, does not stack with itself.

#Unique Passive -A Dragon's Last Breath-: When you are killed by an enemy champion the dragon spirit of the helm releases a bursting flamebolt that deals (20 per level) true damage to the champion that killed you over 2.5 seconds. You must be at a range of 500 or less for this passive to work. Damage at level 18: 360 Note: the ball is a missile and there is some time to react before it lands.

##item 3067 (800) + item 1031 (800) + 900 gold (2500 total gold cost)

Context and Analysis:

##Dragonsteel Passive:

  • For Dragonsteel to give back the armor you lost by buying this item (20 points) you will need at least 65 points of BASE armor.
  • Most champions get a value of Base armor at level 18 that ranks from 70 (ranged) to 120 (melee), except Maokai which has a lot of base armor.
  • While Ranged Champs will only recover the armor points lost by buying this item at level 16 or 18 melee champs will do so at level 8 or 9, also melee champs will have a better late game with it.
  • This item will suck in Thresh because his base armor does not scale (just stating facts).
  • Right now base armor has more value than bonus armor due to all the crazy armor pen and shred items combined together.
  • Base armor will not decay that hard in the late game as bonus armor does, also base armor will not feed the crazy ratios of armor scaling champions as Rammus, Malphite or Taric (or the damage of Thornmail).
  • Late game with armor pen items this item can buy tanks at least 1.5 to 3.5 seconds of life in a fight. -Still affected by flat armor pen, armor shreds, and total % armor pen from ferocity masteries and some abilities like Dariues E passive.

##A Dragon's Last Breath Passive:

  • Can only deal damage to one champion and requires you to be killed for it to work.
  • Can be avoided by staying out of it's range.
  • It is telegraphed, since it is a missile, and actions can be taken to avoid it.
  • It is a DoT, meaning there is some time to use potions, life steal, hourglass, shields or healings to save you.
  • At level 18 it is equal to a 18% of the max life of a regular ranged champ (1800 or 2000 life points).
  • The wearer of the helmet gains a visual effect that serves as an indicator it is wearing this item.

The issue with this is simply that its only really a counter-buy to Last Whisper.

There's no other significant purpose to it outside of a 10% CDR armor+HP item. The stats are too low to really make it useful for anything, since its death passive is essentially a gimmick on the level of how terrible Zyra's old passive was.

Keep in mind that Zyra's old passive had much more range, as well as being an AoE linear skillshot that you can lead (unlike the passive for this item). Zyra's old passive was rarely useful.

Also, you keep saying "to make up 20 armor" or whatever, and you have the stats listed as +20 armor, instead of -20, like I believe you intended.

Nice idea, but it wouldn't really be bought.

An item that negates armor pen, rather than directly granting base armor (which is rarely more useful than bonus armor), would be a better concept. Bruisers that don't build pen would do high damage to you still, but those pesky adcs/assassins would do much less with the gimmick pen builds.
