I had this thought of a Shurima-based skin idea for Karthus, after him becoming Ascended Red/Gold scheme with a GOTS themed Mask and Robe

His Q an explosion of golden light his W two Obelisks with a wall of light his E a raging sandstorm

and for his Ult, he calls down the power of the Sun itself to smite his enemies with blinding light

None of his current skins really change his outward appearance or abilities drastically, or experiment with his lore

I thought it would be /really/ interesting if Karthus had sought the same power that Azir and Xerath gained from the Sun, instead of the Shadow Isles, and the Reaper of Souls managed to Ascend himself to greater heights

my main concept was a Mask, almost resembling him being somewhat 'mummified' an Egyptian deity Thoth was known for judgment of the dead, and I thought that would be very fitting

I don't think Karthus would fit in well with the other Guardians of the Sands. However, an Arclight skin would be very suitable, considering what a dark-themed champion he is. It would probably feature similar golden particles.

I really like that idea, but I don't know if I would be able to stop using my Grim Reaper Karthus. It would be an awesome teamfight with Leona and Lux on your side to increase the "brightness". The other team had better have their Ray-Bans.
