Galio Rework Idea - Demacian Mage Killer
In the magic schools of Demacia, there is something way worse than detention if you're bad enough. Mages who threatened Demacia in the past were always a problem. What good is an army against beings who can summon the elements themselves to fight for them?
Galio was forged by early Demacians to counter this, a being who comes to life whenever Demacia is threatened by the likes of magic, a massive gargoyle that sits at the top of the entrance to Demacia's most prestigious Magic School
Passive - Runic Skin: Galio's spells all have bonus MR scaling, along with this, Galio gains bonus Magic Resist based off of the AP of whoever he last attacked within the last few seconds. (Higher AP enemies give him a higher boost of Magic Resist), along with this, magic penetration is half as effective against him.
Q - Resolute Smite: Galio has a brief channeling period where he is slowed, followed by shooting out lightening from his eyes in a skillshot that damages enemies and silences them for a few seconds (Damage scales with Galio's AP and MR)
W - Magical Convergence: Galio creates a shield that makes him and an ally immune to magic damage for a brief moment. Taking any damage (physical, magical, or true) from spells during this moment will cause Galio and his Ally to heal. (Heal scales with Galio's AP and MR)
E - Idol of Demacia: Passive: Whenever Galio is not moving, he gains a percentage of damage resist and blocks any projectiles from passing through him
R - Null Arcane Chains: The Chains around Galio's arms are lashed forward in a skillshot, if he lands it, he roots himself to the ground until he either tries to move, or cancels the spell. Enemies hit by the chains are slowed and all of their spells lose half of their scaling until they walk out of the tether radius. During channeling of the null arcane chains, Galio may cast Magical Convergance and Resolute Smite while still tethered/rooted. The chains damage the connected enemy for every second they remain tethered (Damage scales with Galio's AP and MR)
Galio is a specialized champion used to take down strong carry mages. As such all of his abilities are based around damaging and CCing enemy mages, if he can get close to them.
He has a weakness to AD heavy comps but is invaluable against AP heavy comps as a result.
He is a tank/support that needs to be somewhat escorted to the enemy mage in teamfights due to his low mobility, however once he is there he will ensure they are killed
Defensively he stands in front of his team and stops mages (and some marksmen) from being able to attack his back line.
If he manages to catch a mage out during a fight they will have to either make the choice of fighting back while crippled or trying to run away.
