All of your ideas are terrible. Your concepts, from items to champions to skins, are absolute trash.

But don't let that dissuade you from trying to create something unique. Don't create new ideas for others, but instead do it as a form of entertainment to yourself. If you finish up that deep, complex champion with the perfect backstory and stats, and even go so far as to do simulated battles with current champions in League, then more power to you. Just do it for fun, though.

Because the chance of your character/skin/item being implemented in League so astronomically low, you'll have a better chance of winning the lottery. Now, please return to your daily dark and brooding champion creation (with a tragic past!). They probably miss you, even if they'll never admit to it.

Well, I would've phrased the title a bit differently (I understand it was supposed to be an attention-getter, and boy does it succeed), but the intent of what you're saying is something I totally agree with.

Lately, there's been an outcry on this Board about contests and the like, or begging for Riot to pay more attention to the concepts here, and frankly, I just don't understand it. Is it cool to get a Riot response on your concept, or to get noticed for what people believe to be a well constructed concept? Sure it is; there's nothing wrong with enjoying positive feedback... but seeking it is a different deal. If your concept was made because "Riot should add it" or because "people will think it's cool," then I think you're designing for all the wrong reasons.

You should create for creation's sake. Do it for fun. When an idea comes to your head and you want to build upon it and mold it into a concept... well, in the words of Shia LaBeouf, just do it. What people will think of it is another hurdle entirely; you can use responses and criticism to improve your concept and any ones you may make in the future, but don't start making concepts out of some misguided, self-aggrandizing attempt at approval or appreciation.

Now, that's not to say there isn't a distinction to make between good and bad concepts; some are more deserving than others to be noticed, but that's something the community upvoting system can handle. I would venture to say that the best concepts on these Boards (at least in terms of popularity) are from those who understand the one-in-a-million odds that their concepts will be noticed or added to the game, but they do it anyway. Despite the miniscule, borderline non-existent chance that their effort will achieve some form of representation in the game itself, they do it anyway. Why? Because they enjoy doing it. And that's all that should ever matter.

One champion was born from the Concept Creation, the Armored Bear - better known as Volibear now. So take that for aspiring + a legion of players who likes the concept enough for Riot to notice.

Just recently Order of the Lotus Irelia, a community concept, was made. Arcade Riven as well. So no you're wrong.

At least they try, if Riot didn't hated community so much there would be a lot more content.

Agreed.

80% of what goes up on boards is circlejerk/memes. 90% of what is left is pure garbage and people should feel bad just for having those thoughts.

Some people have the urge to create and communicate. I don't think there are a lot of people here who come with ideas and are all RITO PLZ Y U NO about it. They just like to share their thoughts and have fun with it.

I don't think anyone made these things for purpose of implementation into league and, while a lot are definitely not great, calling them outright trash is knda shitty you know.

Also players have influenced the game. Hell, Mordekaiser's title was a community suggestion and that was like three patches ago.

Terrible? You obviously havent seen my hammus the rammus concept http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/BxMiEqdW-hammus-the-rammus

There have been 1 or 2 REALLY GOOD Champ designs I've seen in the past year and the rest were basically "It's like Yasuo but on a horse" or something.

I prefer looking at skin Ideas over champ concepts regardless. Those are always more likely to happen than Champ concepts.

For example, skins that are inspired by Community Creations

Swashbuckler Katarina Battle Regalia Poppy Surprise Party Fiddle Dunkmaster Darius Primetime Draven Gravelord Azir

Champions that are inspired by Community Creations: Braum (Based on the Concept of Angus the manly support)

This comment was the definition of an emotional roller coaster, from the infuriating title, to the touching body paragraph 5/7

This just goes for creative stuff in general, until youre doing it for a living. Much more fun once you admit to yourself that youre nowhere near competent at it.

Also, Riot maintains that they DON'T accept champion concepts or art. They don't want a lawsuit.

This topic is like a knife into the hearts of creative newcomers, lol. Good thing I've accepted the truth long time ago.
