[Champion Concept] Hraydm Thar, Twin Eye of the Jaded Celeste
The scene: A grisly little cellar, deep within the Shadow Isles. A pitch-black veil wraps the room - the only sources of light coming in short flickers, credit of the flashes of lightning accompanying the raging storm outside. The ground-level window does not allow for much more than breathable air, but through the narrow opening, if one strained their senses, they might be able to make out the faint sound of a man, sobbing. Another flash - this one longer than the others - and, for a split second, the room comes into vision. At the centre; a table, lined end-to-end with expensive surgical trays. Sitting at the table; a doctor - of the neurological persuasion (not that our viewer would guess). He is a master in his field; renowned as one of the foremost minds behind the Blitzcrank project. He shivers, staring into the tormented reflection of his own face in the stainless metal of the worktop, beneath him. He does not remember the journey, here. In fact, he barely remembers the hellish haze of the past few days at all.
The rocking of the sea... the cage they'd kept him in... the needles... so many needles... and the name. Yes... the name of the man who had stolen him away from his family, who had whispered to him from the shadows, between the Doctor's short spells of consciousness...
Suddenly, the light flicks on, causing the doctor to gasp. As he shields his eyes, the barred door to the room creaks open. And then... footsteps - but just one pair. As the doctor lowers his forearm, something solid hits the floor next to him. It takes a moment for his eyes to adjust, but the defeated whimper he lets out signals that he is not at all surprised at what he sees. For there, on the floor, lays the graphic reality of his situation. A human corpse. Rotten. Disfigured. Dead. Still sobbing, the doctor averts his vision from the body. The light still hurts, but he can see. And so, for the very first time, he looks, wide eyed, upon his captor...
...
Perhaps now is a good time to talk about power.
A sickly concept, isn't it? Or perhaps one might consider it admirable. Really, I suppose it all depends on your point of view. You see, a man with power generally commands a great deal of influence; and a man with influence... well, he tends to want to exert it. Oftentimes, the lucky few to taste the effects of this power; this... influence... are his closest neighbours - living out their miserable existence right on his doorstep. Maybe they don't live the right way; maybe they don't talk the right way. Maybe they have some sort of thought or ideology that is just so utterly infuriating, that the only option left is to remove it by force. A view on the size and location of the planet they inhabit, for example. Or, perhaps, the shape of it. Regardless, history has this strange tendency to... remember people killed for ideas - somewhat to the expense of the person with the power to do away with them. Ideas, you see, are kind of like a virus. Applied properly, they can infect a man and turn him against his people; even his King.
It is not always proper to speak of such things in the open, however... for within man, it is said, lays a dangerous paranoia. A tangled, festering, mass of sadistic avarice; twisting listlessly in the the wind as it promises to carve and shape the lives of those that dare tread into its path. Thrashing violently against the mountaintops; spurring ships to sail across the sea. How cruel. The inequity toward those unfortunate enough to be denied the chance to be birthed into a symbol of authority; for they, expected to take the decisions of their betters in silent stride, what word could possibly suffice?
Solace, perhaps. For the blood of man is as meek as any other; subject to the non-descript whims of whichever gods they believe in. As the sands shift, so too do the Empires that line them - a testament to humanity's ever-encroaching mortality - and as the new King clasps his hands together, his words drowned beneath a torrent of likeminded verses, he can't help but reflect. Oh yes. He is ever so willing to pursue his idyllic final destination; forsaking both past and future in pursuit of a grand vision - one that stands to see his world turn stagnant. After all - what need for progression lies within he, whose needs are relegated to the life he may not yet live? What, if not fear, propels man toward innovation? What, if not the ever-encroaching pitch-black veil upon the mirror's edge of humanity's imaginings, inspires him to soar and reach for the impossible; to scrounge and claw and will himself from the shallow waters of his own despair and take stride, in spite of the calamities that will inevitably befall him? His sense of self; the only constant, until one day it is not.
Necessity. It is, indeed, the mother of invention.

The man raises his hand. Beneath his breath, the doctor whimpers.

Eyes shut to avoid the sight, the Doctor responds, "A... a person."

The doctor gurgled, then choked on his own spit. Carefully, he took a deep breath and peered at the corpse on the ground. There it was. It was a body, alright, but... something was wrong. Its head was strange and misshapen. Its eyes, swollen and tinged an unnatural blue. It is... it was... what was this thing?
http://i1317.photobucket.com/albums/t627/AllottedTimeframe/1ca87915-2539-4294-8dd6-ee79851204fb_zpstxvmdudu.jpg "It's a zombie, Doctor. A reanimated corpse; a ghoul; undead... I'm not certain on the differences in terminology."

Though you may better know them as the Shadow Isles. You see, every scary story you've ever heard about the Harrowing; from your parents, your siblings, the mean children who tried to scare you on camping trips... oh, they're true. Monsters, Doctor - the kind that sneak into your house during thunderstorms and prey on you while your sleeping. But it does not end, there. You don't die once they embrace you, Doctor. You come back - a monster all of your own; hungry to sate your appetite and feed the ranks of the afflicted. The proof, Doctor, lays on the tiles in front of you."
"... What are you going to do to me...?"
http://i1317.photobucket.com/albums/t627/AllottedTimeframe/1ca87915-2539-4294-8dd6-ee79851204fb_zpstxvmdudu.jpg "To you? Nothing, at all! ... Provided you play ball. Y'see, I'm something of a philanthropist. I get a kick out of helping people in need. And what you need right now is a way to survive the next Harrowing. That's why you and I, Doctor, are going to build ourselves a robot."
"... What?"
http://i1317.photobucket.com/albums/t627/AllottedTimeframe/1ca87915-2539-4294-8dd6-ee79851204fb_zpstxvmdudu.jpg "You heard me, Doctor. Be careful, asking dumb questions. There are more men like you that I could find to do this job in your stead should you inexplicably disappear from the face of the Earth."
"B-But I don't know you! Why are you doing this to me? Who are you?!""
http://i1317.photobucket.com/albums/t627/AllottedTimeframe/1ca87915-2539-4294-8dd6-ee79851204fb_zpstxvmdudu.jpg "I just told you not to ask dumb questions. If you insist on playing ignorant, I might fall for the act and decide that it's time to find a replacement."
"... I..."

The Doctor gulped. There was no way out. The walls were concrete, the door, solid iron. He felt weak; sick - and the stench of rotting flesh permeated the air. He wouldn't get out of here. Not unless he did as he was asked and waited for some kind of opportunity to make an escape.
"Your name... Your name is Hraydm Thar."
Undoing the buckles on his coat, the kidnapper produced what appeared to be a circular saw; the blade attached precariously to some kind of collapsible hand-grip. As the grip unfolded, the blade began to whir. Within moments, the kidnapper was casually slicing, grinding and dismembering the putrid cadaver he'd tossed to the floor.
As a limb detached from the creature's shoulder, the doctor slumped forward in his chair. Suddenly, the whirring stopped.

And as the Doctor closed his eyes, he could not help but choke on his next few words.
"... Your... your name... i-it's..."

Khayr = Benevolence. Tadmir = Destruction. Thar = Retribution.
Less a name and more a title, Hraydm Thar is a ranking member of a very old and reclusive sect referred to fondly by its members as the Jaded Celeste. Numbering no more than 12 strong at any one time, the Celeste is comprised of prodigious individuals possessing very particular talents or influences - each member capable of single-handedly shifting the course of a war or carefully dismantling an empire, provided they are allocated the appropriate resources.
At the moment, the Celeste has 7 members. However, of these 7, only two have demonstrated the resourcefulness required to be named Arbitrars - the intermediaries between power and struggle. Given free reign and unlimited authority within very strict guidelines tailored to dampen the long-term consequences of their own particular methodology, each Arbitrar's goals and duties are reassessed routinely and vary wildly.
In Hraydm Thar's case, the goal is counterbalance: To assess and predict high-risk contention between two or more powers, calculate the risks of long-term catastrophe (such as an unnatural mass extinction) and, if necessary, intervene with a swift, precise and decisive hand. Where and when the Arbitrar intervenes is left entirely to their own discretion, but acting upon emotional or political ideology (or otherwise trying to preserve one's self-interests) is considered a gross breach of status. For this reason, petty conflicts - even those with particularly high casualty rates - are considered mundane activities; and beneath the notice of an Arbitrar.
Recently awarded the right to free reign and the means to pursue his own interests, Hraydm Thar has taken a personal interest in the recurring Harrowing massacres at the hands of the undead scourge based within the Shadow Isles and has set upon the territories alongside a renowned member of the two teams that took part in both the Blitzcrank and Urgot initiatives. His goal: to turn the strength of the damned against themselves and convert their destructive impulses into something more practical. Through his... guidance and personal hand, Thar now believes he has achieved his goal - the construction of a self-reliant machine capable of not only rending the undead - rank and file - with a single crushing blow, but also acting as a dispersing conduit for any corrupted intangibles. In layman's? Upon the destruction of a human vessel, the body will not reanimate - functioning as a somewhat experimental cure for undeath.
Now, every crowning achievement needs a name. And stunting the undead menace? That's a feat, all of its own! And so it came to be, that the Machine would walk. And it would be christened... .

#Login Theme & Screen Description
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyMuTvrgNfE
The screen begins with a dark-black background, Hraydm standing in the foreground and staring at the Camera - clearly from the perspective of somebody watching on, hesitantly. Between 0-25 seconds, the track emulates the tremors of the Ghyunman - each stomp serving to brighten the background a little more, and outline the shapes of the houses and flames of the ransacked Shadow Isles village. When the music pauses at 0:25, steam expels from a patch of blackness, followed by the sudden appearance of the Ghyunman's massive face. And then... a jump-scare as its machine hand launches from the darkness straight at the camera!

Towering above most opponents on the battlefield, the Ghyunman is a marvellous - if monstrous - feat of engineering capable of autonomously implementing widespread destruction upon any area of deployment. In its natural state, the Ghyunman is docile and will follow Hraydm at a distance. If Hraydm takes more than 10% of his max health in under 5 seconds, however, the Ghyunman will automatically enter Suppression Mode. Detailed Mechanics, below.
◘◙--PASSIVE MECHANICS--◙◘
- Right click to move Hraydm. Left-click to move the Gyhunman. Targeting enemies is now super annoying.
- The Ghyunman has 3 Functions: Docile, Suppression and Prejudice; Represented by icons at the bottom of the screen (think Kindred's passive). Functions can be selected manually.
- The Ghyunman has 4 Physical LP (Lead Plating) and 2 Magic PP (Palladium Plate). Phys/magic damage of any kind will exhaust one PP or LP. If either value hits 0, the Ghyunman will kneel down and shut off for 15 seconds. LP/PP will recover at the standard rate during shutdown, along with an additional (1+20% max LP/PP) hit points upon reactivation. The Gyhunman may be attacked while it is shut off.
- Large jungle monsters deal 1 LP per strike. Small monsters deal 0.5. Lane minions do not attack the Ghyunman (no lane stalling!)
- While Docile, the Ghyunman will stand approximately 350 yards "behind" Hraydm, distancing itself from hostile targets. The Ghyunman can be given manual orders to move or attack, but will otherwise remain passive.
- While in Suppression Mode and not following any prior orders, the Ghyunman will autonomously move to engage any champions that come within 425 yards of Hraydm.
- While functioning with Prejudice, the Ghyunman will seek out and destroy any hostile targets within its own vision radius, prioritising champions>pets>epic monsters>minions>jungle monsters.
#Q - 1 Part Hack, 3 Parts Grind / Specimen Acquisition
|Mana Cost----------------------------------|Cooldown------------------------------------|True Range-------------------------------| |- |35/40/45/50/55 |8/7.25/6.5/5.75/5 | 215 (Fixed value) |Initial Impact Radius-----------------|Sweet Spot Radius-------------------| |250 Units|125 Units
Hraydm heaves his bonesaw overhead and slams it into the dirt at the target location, dealing 20/37/55/72/90 (+0.4 AD) Physical Damage, 10/18/27/36/45 (+0.35 AP) Magic Damage and stunning any enemies caught in the "sweet spot" for 1 (+0.1 per 50 AP) second. Upon making contact with the dirt, the player may either hold down or keep pressing Q to activate the saw's rotating blade and begin Grinding at the point of impact, reapplying the initial damage up to 3 more times, over 3 seconds.
Grinding has an initial damage radius of 150 units. Each subsequent second (max: 3 seconds) of grinding increases the radius by 125 units, up to a maximum of 525 units.
- If a champion should be defeated while Hraydm is grinding them up, he will collect a specimen. The specimen may also be collected post-mortem from the corpse of a hostile champion still laying on the battlefield.
Specimen Rewards Table!
Each time Hraydm collects a specimen, he gains a completely random reward (the greatest breakthroughs are often made by accident!). Each reward is one time only, unless otherwise specified.
|Reward ID---------|Fruits of Research----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |- |◙ 1|○ Hraydm may now collect specimens from Epic/Legendary monsters.| |◙ 2|○ Ghyunman rocks the ground as it walks, applying a 15% slow in a 225 radius| |◙ 3|○ Ghyunman gains 15% Tenacity + Slow Resist| |◙ 4|○ Ghyunman moves 10% Faster when approaching Hraydm| |◙ 5|○ Ghyunman gains 15% MS while in Suppression Mode| |◙ 6|○ Ghyunman regenerates LP/PP 15% faster while in Prejudice Mode| |◙ 7|○ While Docile, Ghynman gains a 500+ stealth radius | |◙ 8|○ Ghyunman's attacks now apply 40% damage in a 150 radius| |◙ 9|○ Ghyunman recovers 25% faster after shutting down| |◙ 10|○ Random Stat Bonus (can be claimed multiple times)|

#W - Hookshot Revolver
|Mana Cost----------------------------------|Cooldown------------------------------------|Range-----------------------------------| |- |40/40/40/40/40|16/15/14/13/12|675 |Maximum Tether Range----------| |850
Hraydm points his Revolver and fires an elastic-tethered-spur in a straight line, tethering himself to the first enemy hit for 3.5 seconds and dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+0.3 AD) physical damage. Upon connecting with an enemy, Hraydm may reactivate W up to two times to briefly root himself and yank on the tether. If the target is facing in Hraydm's direction, he pull them slightly inwards when he yanks. Alternatively, if the target is facing away from him, Hraydm will Slow their MS by 60/65/70/75/80% for 0.5 seconds. Tethered targets will take an additional 20% physical damage PLUS 10/25/40/55/70 (+0.32 AP) magic damage from The Ghyunman's standard attacks. Yanking on an elastic tether will prematurely end an enemy's standard dash or jump abilities currently in progress - including those that would otherwise deal damage.
Hraydm may also target The Ghyunman with his hookshot. Doing so will rapidly carry him to the Machination's Location and cause the Ghyunman to enter Suppression Mode.
#E - Caustic Generator
|Mana Cost----------------------------------|Cooldown------------------------------------|Damage Radius----------------------| |- |60/65/70/75/80|20/19/18/17/16|215
The Ghyunman engages defense parameters, generating a Caustic Barrier around Hraydm. Every second, for the next 10 seconds, Hraydm will gain a self-stacking shield equal to 15/25/35/45/55 (+0.075 AP) and deal half this amount as magic damage to any nearby enemies. After 11 seconds, the barrier will turn volatile and burst, dealing additional magic damage equal to the remaining shield's value (if applicable).
Should Ghyunman be shut down or otherwise exceed a 750 unit distance from Hraydm, the effect will end prematurely. This will also negate the burst effect.
#R - Nomadic Tremors / Guilty Swing
|Mana Cost----------------------------------|Cooldown------------------------------------|Tremor AoE Radius----------------| |- |100|150/120/90|325
The Ghyunman raises its gargantuan foot and stomps it into the ground, forming a devastating tremor that deals 90/180/260 (+0.6 AP) magic damage and slows any affected hostiles by 70/80/90% for 1 second.
- For the next 5 seconds, Hraydm's next standard attack will gain 100 range and strike in a cone, sweeping all affected enemies aside, stunning them for 0.5 seconds, and dealing 75/130/185 (+1.2 bonus AD) Physical damage.
- Additionally, the Ghyunman will automatically enter Prejudice Mode.

(In progress!! Until such time as I organise this and begin entering character quotes, here are some notes I jotted down)
Hraydm Thar: Retribution, Benevolence, Sin, Poverty, Plentifulness.
Personality:
- Formally trained in human Physiology, Psychology and Biology. High martial prowess and has particular talents for lateral thinking.
- Disgust for corruption in outside institutions. Hatred of tedium.
- Encourages corruption towards his own ends. Delights in irony of methods.
- Only reacts to unveiling threats. However, a very vague definition of retaliation plays into his loose code of ethics. Domination through any means.
- Considers himself smarter than followers. Stronger than followers. Any who cannot be controlled, manipulated or who otherwise become a threat must be dealt with.
- Misguided belief is a tool to be abused.
- Reveres humanistic attributes.
- Lived among the inhabitants of the Shadow Isles for almost a decade, forcing members of the Blitzcrank and Urgot projects to fashion a cage for the souls of the afflicted.
- Highly covets immortality; aversion to self-destruction as a method achieve it (ascension, undeath, artificial reconstruction, etc)
Equipment:
- Bonesaw axe, for collecting specimens/rending undead to tiny, harmless, pieces.
- Near-full-body suit comprised of Palladium, Gold and Lead. Heavily resistant to corrosion, radiation and the elements.
- Traditional Golden Silk garbs of the Hraydm Thar, reinforced with thick canvas leathers.
History:
- Immortality through dragon’s blood / ritualistic cult based around dragon worship. Hraydm is the moniker of the sect. Thar, his title. Neither are his true name.
- Initially unable to directly contest control of the continent due to the strength of other (less reclusive) factions, the Thar(?) are pleased with Hraydm's progress. Seek to master the ability to mass-convert the souls of those harvested by the Shadow Isles and re-purpose them for animatronic use. GOLEMS!
- Zombifying zombies!! Terrifying repercussions.
- Loose ties to Shurima. The dragon once ruled a small city-state that would find itself inevitably crushed underfoot as the Shuriman Empire began to expand. The dragon witnessed the tragedy of the Ascension from afar. For this reason, the pursuit of immortalities through self-destructive means are considered unbecoming.
- Member List: 1 Celestial Dragon, 2 Arbiters, 3 Scribes, 1 Banker (titles pending)
- Natural enemies: Shurima, Shadow Ises.
- Watching Closely: Zaun, transhumanistic evolution.
======
Playstyle
(heavily barebones. Still in progress)
- Grind with Q to push lane, use the Ghyunman to avoid being poked down while grinding.
- Hookshot to attack with the Ghyunman while remaining at relative safety, or to limit enemy escape/chase potential. Hook onto the Ghyunman to escape bad guys!
- Corrosive Shield makes up for Hraydm's low base regen. Excellent prolonged skirmish tool.
- Hraydm's ultimate is not an execute, but may as well be. Grouping up multiple enemies into a line with one swing makes for excellent Grind targets.
- Specimen collection helps to dictate Hraydm's build path. Making use of bonuses and buying items, accordingly, can dramatically influence late-game potential.
- Hraydm will very likely be able to function as a melee bot-lane adc alternative to Mordekaiser.
- The Ghyunman is excellent at taking epic monster/jungle monster hits and dishing out substantial damage, in return.
