Let's give Urgot a hand.

Let's talk about Urgot. Riot wants to rework him: might as well make sure they do it right(i do not want an uglier Nidalee and i think you don't want it either).

Before we start, there are things we need to get clear in our minds.

First, this is all a work of opinion. You can disagree and reply as harshly as you can. Do not expect me to just accept it, though. It's what i think Urgot needs. You will see a lot of comparisons between new Sion and him. They need to share some similarities. I'll explain it later.

Second, Urgot's theme.

What is Urgot's theme? Every champion has a theme. A thematic that must be shown both lorewise and gameplay wise. Some can be explained in a few words, some are a bit more complicated.

Riot has made a great job with doing something simple out of Sion: Undead Juggernaut.

To me, Urgot is a Noxian undead war machine. An hybrid between Zaun/Noxus. Things that define him are:

  • His brutality. You might not have noticed, but every brute had a type of brutal that defines them. Darius is more elegant while Sion is pure i use my axe to play whack-a-mole type. Urgot would have to feel more axed towards psychological warfare. He should be reworked to believe the best scars are those in your mind.
  • Acid. Oh, sweet mother the acid. Does anyone else use acid against their enemies? Singed drinks a potion that probably contains acid, but Urgot needs that acid to melt his foes. Part of the psychological damage comes from it. THE GUY IS GREEN WITH IT. Speaking of which...
  • Green. His green. Don't let it go Riot. I love his dark green
  • He's an hybrid. Noxian turned Zaunite. Lore wise, he's basicaly the best proof of the brotp that is Noxus/Zaun.

Urgot has many possiblitilies for lore: he could become a Noxian general that lead in the Ionian invasion(yes, that is still canon) and got kill by Riven. Yes, Riven: she has litteraly nothing in her lore that says anything about her being a threat to the Noxian goverment(aka the corrupted one that Riven nows hates because of what they allowed to do in Ionia). Her killing the fat general(yes, still fat, but still really deadly) will give her some importance to Noxus. You could also have Urgot getting killed by Irelia or something but i do feel like Riven stopping the invasion is a pretty poetic way to go for her. I like it. That's my only idea right now, but i know he can be so much more.

We'll start with the ultimate, because that's what changes the most about him: instead of switching places(which is really an awkward ult for him), he becomes a shapeshifter. Y'know, that he can change between melee and range? NOW NOW NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU ALL THINK OF SHAPESHIFTERS SO BEFORE YOU ATTACK ME LET ME FINISH MY ENTIRE IDEA AND THEN WE'LL TALK.

When in melee, Urgot gains bonus armor, magic resist and health regen. His skills costs mana.

When in range, his skills and his basic attacks cost health. While his basic attacks do no hurt him a lot, his skills are a pain(probably around 5% max hp to 10% current hp). He's got a lot to manage and that's the point of playing him. However, i always leave room for change, should that prove too painful to play. Note that range/melee cooldowns are not shared, which means he can blow off his skills and then switch forms to keep the combo going, just like the other shapeshifters.

About the passive. It's a weird one: i think the current one is fine, but for the sake of giving ideas, let's give ideas!

After his death, Urgot's machinery takes over for a short period. While is cannot move, it stays in range mode and gains increased range, vision, and attack speed. It can only cast Acid Hunter.

It's really similar to Sion, but it's also unique in it's own ways. It do not gain bonus damage as Urgot is meant to build some. It's also more of a become a turret kind of passive. It also gives a dark theme to Urgot: his machine simply takes over his life and toss it away to keep going, like a bad part in an industrial shop.

Another idea was:

Each time he takes damage, Urgot spills acidic blood around him. Anyone who steps on it gets a stack of Acid: Acid slows and deals damage over time. Death causes a larger explosion and the acid will stay a bit longer on the ground and on the foes.

This is closer to a tank than to a fighter, it's meant for Urgot to go in and die there. It rewards him for taking damage, like a tank would do. I also give the definition of Acid which is SUPER IMPORTANT TO READ because the some parts of my kit are about the Acid.

The kit itself is separated on three parts: the Q is a spammable, weak ability(basic attack enhancer), the W is the ability that allows the acid to stack(which deals morderate

Q: In melee form, his next basic attack strikes with his sharp legs, dealing bonus damage and snaring his opponent for a short time. If the target is being melted with Acid, they are stunned.

In range form, his regular attacks are changed to a Acid hunter, which deals bonus damage and slow enemies. If they are being melted with Acid, the cooldown and cost is reduced. The attack also hovers over anything that can stop it(windwall, for instance) to reach it's target.

A basic attack enhancer for both modes. They have a pretty low cooldown which is why the duration of the CC is low. Also a bonus for Acid. I also always wondered: Urgot looks so heavy, why don't he use it to his advantage? Those legs look like they can hurt! It's also pretty vicious.

W: In melee form, creates a shield based on both his max health and his max mana. Should the shield be destroyed, it'll explode in a burst of acid, giving everyone a stack of acid(see second passive idea). If it ends, it also explodes. Urgot cannot detonate it prematurely.

In ranged form, target a location and shoots a burst of acid.Deals damage and any target that is in it get a stack of Acid. Slightly larger than Cho'Gath.

Now we start to go differently: this skill is meant to stack the acid. This is what Urgot does best: stack the Acid and spam his enemies with it. Without it, he's weaker. I also made sure that it's easily dodgable, like his old one. The cooldown is regular, probably around 7-10 seconds.

As for the E, i currently have a headache and thus is unable to think.

So, give me some opinions.

Urgot MUST remain the fat, horrific, grotesque, disgusting cyborg abomination that he is! That's what makes Urgot URGOT. If Riot just turns him into generic man-with-robot-legs I will cry tears of remorse into my hands of despair. He also needs to retain his combo uber-range and his ult-swap mechanic.
