Champion Idea: Adrian, The Guilty Soul

Hey all, Billcurme here with yet another silly champ idea. This is actually the second champ idea I ever had (as evidenced by the lore being one word away from fitting the old League lore). As usual, this champ needs a lot of polish, but I thought I'd throw it up here to see if I could get some feedback on how to clean this up. I'll admit that the theme is rather vague, and the lore needs a LOT of work, but hopefully there are some good ideas in here that we can pick apart. Cheers.

P.S Abilities are at the bottom, for people only interested in those. ;) Also, special thanks to my good friend, the summoner Cryptekz, for his contribution to this champ idea.

Adrian, The Guilty Soul

Description: The look of someone who hasn’t seen light in a very long time. Tall, very pale, whitish blonde hair, blood-shot green eyes. Simple dirty linen pants, strong muscles, two chains attached to manacles on his wrists.

Primary: Fighter.

Lore: Crime is a part of every society, no matter how hard some might try to deny it. Even in the gleaming capital of Demacia, there lays a great dungeon, sprawling beneath the streets of the glorious city-state, housing those who have broken its laws. But so vast is this gaol that no one knows how deep it really goes, and just what lays at the bottom...

They found no records of him. No one who knows what his original crime was, and no indication of just how long he has been there. He would not speak to those who questioned him, until the mighty Garen Garen was brought fourth. Even then, he would only say one thing, over and over again: I am not innocent. Unsure what to do with this enigma of a prisoner, Garen, recognising his power, had him brought to the battlefield, where his punishment would be served as a champion of Demacia.

“What we see now is a broken man, weighed down by his own guilt. I shudder to think at what he once was." – Garen, the Might of Demacia

Quotes:

Selection: There is no redemption, only guilt.

Movement: Ever forward. Don't look back. By your will. As you command. I go. No choice. Wise. I am not innocent.

Attacking: More blood on my hands. Very well. They will not escape. So be it. We share guilt. I am sorry. For Demacia, I suppose.

Joke: Summoner, we need to discuss this, Chain of command. Get it? Chain? ... I'll get back to fighting now. Trust me, I’m no weak link. Link? Chain? .... Moving on.

Taunt: There are two things you will never escape: your guilty conscious... and me!

Taunt near Garen Garen: (Ally) Shall we crush our enemies while shouting Demacia really loudly? (Enemy) You brought me here, Garen. You have only yourself to blame. (Enemy) You should have left me to rot. Now you will in my place.

Taunt near JarvanIV Jarven IV (Ally) I am sorry, my Prince. (Ally) You remind me of him. (Enemy) More royal blood on my hands

Hitting an enemy with Ensnare: Yoink You're mine! DEMACIA! Okay, that's actually fun.

Yeah, I know. I need more quotes and interactions. Any ideas are appreciated!

Statistics: Health: 436 (80) Hp Regen: 7 (0.85) Mana: 242 (32) Mana Regen: 6.1 (+0.7) Range: 175 Ad: 52 (3) AS: 0.67 (3%) Armor: 22 (3.5) MR: 32.1 (1.25) MS: 340

Abilities: Chained to the Past (innate): A spectre of Adrian's past follows behind him. As he takes damage, 2% of the damage is absorbed by the spectre, up to 15/20/25/30% of his max health. Allies, but not Adrian, can right click the spectre to absorb it, healing the health stored over 6 seconds. After the spectre is absorbed, it takes 3 minutes to recharge. The spectre cannot be seen by enemy champions. When the spectre is absorbed, if it was fully charged, Adrian gains Absolution, taking 15% reduced damage.

Walk the Line (q): Range: 350 (650 off a wall) Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9 Mana Cost: 80/70/60/50/40 Adrian cartwheel's forward a short distance. If Adrian hits a wall, he bounces off at an angle, going farther. This ability can be used while Adrian has his chains laid out with Ensnare. Upon completing the cartwheel, his chain will be redeployed, following the angle of the cartwheel in the direction he last moved.

Splitting Headache (w): Range: 350 Cooldown: 8 Mana Cost: 45/55/65/75/85 Adrian spins his chains above his head, empowering his next 2 auto attacks, causing them to deal 30/45/60/75/90 bonus physical damage in a line, but behave like skill shots.

Ensnare (e): Range: 350 Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16 Mana Cost: 60 Adrian kneels down, laying his chains out in a line in front of him. Enemy champions who step on the chains are pulled towards Adrian. If they would make contact with terrain or another enemy champion, they are instead snared for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds, and take 60/90/120/150/180 + .3 ad physical damage. Chains are stealthed if Adrian is in a bush or not visible by enemy champions. The chains remain in play as long as Adrian remains un-moved. Adrian can re-cast the spell to cancel it, refunding half of the cooldown and mana cost.

Rattle the Chains (r): Range: 350 Cooldown: 150/125/100 Mana Cost: 150 The souls of Adrian's past lash out, causing 3 chains to spin counter-clockwise around him for 5 seconds, dealing 75/150/225 Damage per chain + 0.5 AD physical damage to all enemies struck by the chains and slowing them. Movement-impaired enemies struck by the chains are instead dragged with the circle, taking 2/4/6% of current health as physical damage every second.

This seems like a great idea, but one note- from what I understand, his q is an exact copy of Poppy's e, other than damage values. Is there any distinguishing features, or is it just that?

Hello all!

After looking at his q for a while and discussing it with my compatriot Cryptekz, we've decided that it really is far too similar to Poppy's q. In the spirit of keeping things fresh and interesting, we've decided to create a knew Q.

Here it is, in all it's glory. Please tell us your thoughts on this new trick in Adrian's kit, and tell us what you think.

Having some actual stats might make it more noticeable and help it stay on the first page.... maybe not but its worth a shot.

But yah, you did an amazing job. Upvote :)

I like his E, but overall his kit seems to be lacking a proper identity, he's pretty much a combination of garen and poppy. Additionally, his passive makes absolutely no sense to have on a non-support. Like seriously, a tank wants to tank, not heal their allies.

I don't even think Nidalee was intended to be a jungler on release. Her tag literally states that she's a support.

I never said that his abilities in specific were the exact same as other abilities, what I meant is that this guys PLAYSTYLE would be too similar to garen and poppy. Goes into the middle of the enemy team. Does stuffs. Already exists in the game in the shape of Poppy and Garen.

His ult can easily be seen in Garen's E or Wukongs ult.

His W is clunky (an auto attack that misses fast targets? Seriously? Why would you want this in the game, especially considering you can't even aim it properly), is quite generic (making it a skillshot will have basically no gameplay change except for making it slightly clunker), and really has no place in his kit.

Honestly I also think you should make his E his ult instead. Would give such an interesting ability much more potential in strength and overall it really really feels like something that would be and ultimate ability.

looks good, I like the progression from its previous iteration. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
