(This is work in progress)

I am making champion concept on champion who would be form Kha'Zix tribe, but with different kit. So, it will be some kind of party support/tank type champion who will utilize his servants:

These are something like Minions form Despicable me, but smarter and more evil.

I am accepting every idea may have on him and hit kit. I think his role should be called The Tactician: someone who helps team mates to build items, prevent them from getting ganked, strengthen your team's minions or fortify turrets, but aren't suited to play bot line as a support. I welcome all ideas on that, too.

Sorry for any and all grammar or punctuation mistakes. P.S. adding some more artwork of him as attachments.

Overall I think you did already a nice job at making him a bit more different from kha'zix,I've seen already some people trying to make a brother of Kha'zix or something along the lines that was pretty much just kha'zix with different skills. However I think he needs more of his own theme. Designwise he looks like a more insectoid green kha'zix and the whole "having minions" or " being a tactician" thing isn't something new in the game either(Malzahar Yorick Azir Swain )

Kha'zix has this whole mantis/grasshopper and evolving predator thing going on,I think it would be better if he would be more similar to other insects(after all kha'zixs species evolves based around what they eat,so he could have evolved in a completely different way),like ants/bees (I think these would work very well with his concept of being someone who defends his team/builds stuff for it,rather than to hunt others).

since swains title is already "the master tactician",I'd say that he should have a different title, like "guardian/mind of the hive" or something like that.

Thanks for reply. Firstly, i want to say that when i said minions, i din't mean he will use them as his abilities like (Yorick), but more like workers who would do something in your base or something. Like repair nexus turrets and inhibitors faster or anything like that.

Secondly, tactician isn't the title. It's more the thing like role in general, like: riuser, tank, adcarry and other.

Thirdly, would you be so kind and fill me in on how ants and bees evolve? I am pretty bad on insect biology, but i would gladly hear your ideas.

Once again, thanks for reply.

The reason why I mentioned ants/bees is because they build hives as their homes, with every ant/bee having its specific role, some fortify the hive, some gather food, some defend the home, etc. Zer'zix being able to fortify/repair buildings with his minions reminds me a lot of this concept. It would be like Zer'zix is the one who applies the different roles to his minions.

Yea, my thoughts exactly. What you think about this idea:

What if he could deploy 1 type of minions:

  1. builders who reinforce structures (like give bonus armor or health)
  2. diggers who provide whole team with a bit more passive gold (like 1 or 2 per 5 sec)
  3. blacksmiths who repairs base turrets and inhibitors (causing them to respawn faster)
  4. warlocks who weakens enemies in your base (reduce their damage by 5% or something)
  5. alchemist who increase power of health and mana potions for every team member (by 10% maybe)
  6. traders who reduce cost of items a little bit for every team member (by 4% or a bit more). At first you could deploy only 1 kind of minions, but as game goes you could deploy up to 3 types of minions.

How that sounds?

While it does sound cool,I wonder how so many different workers would fit into one kit? I think him having a group of workers who can do pretty much everything, but only if he commands them to do it,would work better.

Also I think having these sort of passive effects could be a bit overpowered,it would pretty much mean that he can help his teammates even when he is on the other side of the map and you would have to account for these effects about how strong they are when all 5 teammembers benefit from them. I mean thats pretty much the reason why they removed global passives like Jannas. So I dunno about these bonuses that help the whole team

However what if his workers could not just reinforce/repair structures to some extent, but also built structures?Like a small building where people could get reinforced potions(or buffs or whatever you can think of).

I also think he should have some more direct power,if all of his abilities are about the works of his workers, then he himself will be dead meat in the heat of combat,so some more direct abilities would also be something to consider.

Thanks. You were a great help. I will take that into consideration when i make his kit.

It's too busy. There are too many needless spokes. Why do his hand's need spikes on the back of them? Why do the knees have spikes? Why does he have horns? Why does he have giant mandibles.

A good character design is very clean. Look up character silhouettes in google. If your character still has personality without identifying features that's a good character.

regonas1 votes

Because in nature bugs tend to build defense or camouflage themselves. And he is clear- he is overgrown bug. What is not clear here?

Lonely Flame1 votes

Because you shouldn't be going for realism, at least not in a game like League. Look at how clean the design of Kha'Zix is. Look at where the spikes he has are positioned. Do you know what Kha'Zix does to camouflage? He turns invisible. It doesn't have to be like nature. Why does he need 3 set of wings? Because he can only fly with 6 wings? Or because it looks cool?

regonas1 votes

Kha also have tons of spikes and his design isn't "clean" as you say. He have spikes on his arms, on his shoulders, on his legs, on his head on even on his neck. If that equal to being "clean" then my design is also pretty clean. In addition, kha design is made be team of professional game designers. I am just a guy who like gaming. How can you compare that?

To answer your question about wings: Kha'Zix use his wings for jumping (or gliding) more than actual flying (based on his kit), so that may suggest that flying Void bugs needs more that one set of wings. However, i made his model with 3 sets of wings, because with 1 or 2 sets he looked too heavy to fly, so 3 sets was better option based on what i think about him. You can interpret that however you like.

Lonely Flame1 votes

Yes but they're in line with the flow of his body. They don't jut out to the side like yours do. The only ones that do are the ones on his shoulders but they even turn in. The ones on his elbows continue along from the forearm, the ones on his head continue out from the back of his head. I can compare that because if you're making a character model based off an already existing model, you should look at that model as a guide. I'm not saying that the standard needs to be as high, but you should use it as a source. That's a fair point. I would suggest shrinking down the sizes of the lower ones a little then.

regonas1 votes

I will try that and see how that will look.

regonas1 votes

Also, he have these little guys, so he have more than personality.

Lonely Flame1 votes

That's another thing: They don't seem Void like. If you're going for a joke character that's fine. If you're going for a serious character design then these are way to cartoony for a Voidborn.

regonas1 votes

You are right. These beings come to serve him after he ended up in Runeterra. These aren't from The Void, but they treat beings from The Void as superior beings.

Lonely Flame1 votes

That goes against Void personalities though. He would try to kill them. I'm not saying this to be harsh, I'm just trying to help you along with the character.

regonas1 votes

Yea, but does every void creature have to be crazy murderous beast? Why can't at least one of them like to be treated like a king and rule lower lifeforms?

Lonely Flame1 votes

Well I mean, that's kind of the whole thing about the Void haha. It's good to ask those questions, but 'hunger' for something is a distinct trait for Voidborn characters. The reason they don't care is because Runeterra is not their plane of existence. Also (but this is old lore at this point), servants of Voidborn's offer worship to them by being living sacrifices for them. Malz hasn't been eaten because he's a high priest.

regonas1 votes

Well, what about 'hunger' for praise and adoration? This Voidborn could different kind of hunger. Hunger not for flesh, but hunger for power to rule.

P.S. have you ever tried Overlord or Overlord II games?

Buster Hyman

You used Spores to make your "artwork"?

regonas1 votes

Not everyone is good with a pencil, new everyone is abode genius. Deal with it.

Buster Hyman1 votes

Relax, it was a legitimate question. In a sense though, that isn't "your artwork" per-say. You took and created something that was already in a game and claimed it as yours.

regonas1 votes

Not really. It wasn't made by anyone else. He wasn't in any game and may never be made by other people who haven't seen him. It what you are saying would be true, then every design made by engineers would be treated the same, because they make then in programs where every part of their design is already placed.

In addition, no one is forbidden to share their creations, so i see no problem here.

And because i made something then that means it is my work. I am not asking for money or anything for it, but if i done something, then it was done by me and it is my "artwork".

Buster Hyman1 votes

My friend, real character development requires a lot more skill than piecing together parts of something and forming a creature in "Spores". Characters go through concepts, which consists of description, concept arts (multiple ones), rendering, and so forth. For example, Riot makes everything themselves. There's no pre-made torsos, heads, etc like spores provides.

TL;DR

You did not create an artwork, you made a creation. You're sharing a concept of a champion with a creation made in "Spores", a game that provides pre-made parts. That's all, stop taking offense.

regonas1 votes

I am nor a game developer, nor a artist. Why are you picking on me for my way of expressing my idea? This is early stage of an concept, why you are so angry that instead of pencil or adobe illustrator i use spore? IS that offensive yo you? Is that against the rules? What is your problem?

Buster Hyman1 votes

Whoa there, I wasn't angry or picking on you. I stated that your "artwork" isn't an artworks but a creation. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. You're the one blowing things out of proportion and trying to victimize yourself. I'm sorry if you can't understand what I'm explaining in my replies.

regonas1 votes

So, is there is a problem about that? Does that have any point?

Buster Hyman1 votes

I'm done explaining things to you. I don't know what traumatic experience you endured where you think things are negatively getting thrown at you. Please, carry on with your "artwork".

regonas1 votes

Wow, so much negativity for no reason. You should relax a bit there. Chill, mate.

Buster Hyman1 votes

Lol, I fed the troll. Carry on.

regonas1 votes

You called this http://netdna.webdesignerdepot.com/uploads/trash_art/dirtywhitetrash.jpg not an art, so in this situation you are the one trolling. Sorry.

Buster Hyman1 votes

You're OBVIOUSLY illiterate. My apologies.

regonas1 votes

And now you are trying to insult me. Typical teen. I will have to ask you to stop trolling in my Discussion or else i will be forced to report you.

I'm far from a teen, but considering your grammatical skills and the way you twist words, I can say otherwise about you. Please, do report. Maybe a Riot Mod can better explain what I've been saying these last few posts since you're not capable to understand.

Lonely Flame2 votes

What was the point you were trying to make though? The guy wanted to show a rough idea of what his champion would look like. He admitted he can't draw, so he found an easy means of creating what he was thinking.

This is Player Creation forums. The majority of 'artwork' that IS posted here is something found off deviantart or other games. Sure, he used Spore, but he still made an original thing.
