Lore

In the city of Piltover, most are fascinated by technology and how it affects their lives. Khorwyn, however, is among the few who grew up appreciating simpler things. When she was a young girl, her father introduced her to a special blade that he owned.

This blade, he called Urumi, was something her father’s father had passed down the line, saying it was special and would one day fall into the hands of its true owner.

When handed the blade, Khorwyn felt calm, safe and secure, and most importantly she felt a connection. Her father let her hold it for a short time before returning it to the box from which it originated.

Fascinated, Khorwyn started learning the arts of the sword while also growing up with the Piltover style of clothing. This resulted in a fairly unique look for her in the city, and she even had her clothing custom designed to be easier to use with her blade.

A few years went by, and it was then that word of a famous duelist came to her ears. Khorwyn realized this was her chance to prove herself as a strong swordswoman by making a challenge. After much hunting for information, she realized she would have to travel too Demacia to find her opponent.

Her father pleaded with her not to go, but she would have none of it, too stubborn to be denied this chance.

“You have the will and composure of your mother, and the strength of your father.” He said with his parting words. “Then you will take one last thing with you on your journey.”

He took out the case holding the Urumi, handing it out to her.

“May it serve you well, my daughter.”

Without words to say, she took the case and gave her goodbyes before setting out on her long journey.

The trip proved more difficult than she could imagine. A grueling passage through the Ironspike Mountains, and a long, frustrating, trip through the marshes left her weary before reaching her destination.

Finally, upon reaching Demacia, she took only a short rest before searching out her opponent.

It took time, but Khorwyn finally found Fiora.

The challenge was given, and Fiora accepted, saying she would fight the strongest and prove herself the best in Valoran.

She gave only one warning, “I never hold back.”

Khorwyn nodded, and so the duel began.

Fiora’s overwhelming strength took her off guard, as she had assumed herself to be the stronger swordswoman. The battle had barely begun, but Fiora looked at her with disdain, “Is this supposed to be a challenge?”

Khorwyn felt enraged, and went into a flurry of blows. She began realizing how truly outclassed she was as Fiora parried the attacks with ease.

Fiora lunged in, and Khorwyn was barely able to dodge, but a second lunge landed in her left eye.

Letting out a scream, she let out a wild slash toward Fiora and backed away.

Fiora’s look of disdain was much stronger now, “Insolent peasant. Submit! You have already lost.”

Holding a hand to her bleeding eye, she cried softly as she conceded. Fiora turned, and left, without a second glance back.

That day she swore an oath. She swore to become the strongest swordswoman in Valoran, and one day gain the recognition of all.

Even the recognition of the strongest woman she had ever met.

She trained, day in and day out for years with the blade her father had bestowed upon her. Travelling Valoran in search of strong opponents and honing her skills, only to discover the true secret of the blade she held a few years later.

As she fought in the midst of battle with bandits, surrounded and fearing the worst, she felt a dam break loose in her mind, and her blade grew longer as if connected by a rope of steel. Its length was that of a whip, but the separated sections of blade were even more deadly as she cut the bandits apart from a distance.

When the battle had ended, the blade returned to its original state. There was a feeling of hunger, of insatiability, within the blade as she held it. It had felt natural in her hands as she lashed out. Upon inspection, she found her wounds had also started healing much faster than they should have.

She had grown much stronger, and she would become stronger still in time. With this weapon she felt she could finally start walking further down the path to her goals.

With this weapon, she could join the Institute of War.

"The overconfident will fail, the strong will succeed." -Khorwyn, after her battle with Fiora.

Some Additional Information

Khorwyn wasn't always strong, and it took time for her to reach the place she is. While a strong swordswoman in her own right, she gains strength from her blade, which is partially sentient, and offers strength for blood. Unaware of its true nature, Khorwyn actually wields a living blade like Aatrox's, forged by the Darkin, and can only survive its use due to having a small amount of Darkin blood in her ancestry (from many generations in the past, so diluted she has no appearances to relate her to the Darkin).

Updates

Resource Updated from Mana to Health to be more in line with her lore and abilities.

Abilities Passive - Updated, the cooldown to re-use on an enemy is lowered to 8 seconds (you can hit more than one enemy to apply passive, but the cooldown for each enemy is 8 seconds, and can be on separate timers if, for example, you hit one enemy with Q, then two others with R). W - Updated, now reduces cooldown of E when basic attacks hit, and not passive. Increased cooldown slightly. E - Updated, more in line with her Lore and abilities. R - Updated, now more synchronized with her kit and overall less game breaking.

Lore Minor update to the lore to expand on some information and to remove unnecessary comments.

seems a lot like Fiora, i'm getting bored of people who just use swords...

Ok heres my thoughts:

Lore: Ok brilliant lore only some things that i do not agree with, the battle with fiora is just to game based; what i mean is that there is to many in game quote's and abilitys information. try to avoid using champions in game qoutes and abiltiys i mean if its the ulti yeah i get that because the ulti sums up most champions. Just try not using so many quotes in the lore other then that brilliant lore.

Passive: Not to much of woe on its own, But i can see this ability being used in game

Q:seems like a yasuo's q but with a slow and a slightly longer cd; How long is the slow?; this would be a cool move if im imagining the animation right

W:Ok so around 27 minutes 200cs (maybe more) if she just farms all game shes guna do like 130 extra damage on attack? seems kinda broken imo

E: Doesnt match her kit/lore/other abilitys also try to avoid making to much of her damage magic damage as she is scaled rated high on attack damage ■■■■■■■■■□ Aswell giving her a huge attack range. Change a little bit..

R:No just no Just no to supressions/stuns especially with this kit ulti q w dead little to no outplay time. Avoid heavy cc with that kit

Full on: Needs work on making abilitys match and work with each other. Need to mess with lore a little. Kinda broken IMO.

Tbh i rushed though it not that great at critiquing but im just putting out my opinion :P

First thoughts

Weak numerically and unimpressive conceptually. When you're making a champion, please look at concepts that already exist in game; Adrenalin rush is the main ability that suffers from this. I'm guessing that, from her W and your comments, she's meant to be a melee carry type champion, similar to Fiora, but in truth, if you think about it, she's actually a 4-5 tank item bruiser, similarly to how Nasus functions. Actually, whilst she bears a lot of superficial comparisons to Aatrox and Fiora, Nasus is the champion she most easily compares to, due to the innate stacking mechanic and her low mobility.

Stats

Mostly fine; her health's a little low for what she is, especially considering her lack of survivability tools.

Individual Skills

Passive - Not necessarily a bad ability, innately, but heavily out of place on Khorwyn. Khorwyn has two abilities that can apply it, and one of them is her ultimate. As a champion who is heavily reliant on auto-attacks, giving her a passive that only works on abilities feels off.

Q - The numbers are a little wonky, but they at least give a sense of what Khorwyn is meant to do and I can understand that you went fairly conservatively since it's a mana-less sustain tool. I'm guessing this is meant to be a 'homage' to Aatrox's E. Not the most original ability, but a fairly staple one.

W - The numbers for this ability are all over the place. 3 seconds/20->12 seconds up time is especially low (compare/contrast Kayle's E which is 10 seconds/16 seconds up time). Again, I can understand going conservatively with the numbers, since infinite stacking mechanisms are troublesome to say the least, but the duration could definitely use a boost. Right now, Khorwyn could potentially be rendered useless with a single piece of crowd control at the right time.

By the way, to Vayne Wants A Hug, saying she'll have 200 CS at the 27 minute mark is really optimistic when she can barely lane (more on this later).

E - Why? It's an especially uninteresting, especially weak steroid. Her other basic abilities aren't the most original, but there's little twists that give them some redeeming qualities. This is mostly pointless, even with the cooldown reduction effect on her W.

R - I'm guessing it's meant to reference Aatrox's ultimate? It's not quite as bad as her E, but right now, it's just Volibear's roar with the damage turned up and the slow reduced.

Playstyle Khorwyn's biggest problem, far and away, is her abysmal laning phase. Consider Vladimir. Vlad's Transfusion is a much better sustain and harass tool than Khorwyn's Q (it has a longer range and heals him more since it has no cost at all). Vlad has a powerful escape tool with his W (in fact, it gives him a better MS boost than her E). Vlad has good wave clear with his E. Vlad has higher base stats than her. Vlad has a permanent ranged auto-attack. Vlad is considered a poor early laner. And he out does Khorwyn in almost every fashion. Now, I'm not saying Khorwyn should be like Vlad, in fact, I say the less Vlad-like champions in the game, the better, but Khorwyn just can't survive the early laning phase unless she manages to go up against a really bad laner, like...

Actually, I don't think there's a top laner she actually wants to go up against. With her current kit, she manages to get bullied by Maokai. Or anyone with a ranged auto-attack.

On the other hand, even if you manage to reach the late game unmolested, Khorwyn doesn't offer a great reward. Whilst her auto-attacks are okay whilst her W is up, she has no hard CC, low-ish range, terrible mobility and poor innate durability. She can't afford to build glassy in any regard, since she would immediately die to any kind of burst or focus (not even to abuse the reasonable ratios on her abilities, since she has trouble even getting into range), so she has to go full tank, in which case she's just kinda there. Kinda like what happens to Warwick in the late game.

Personality There actually is some personality in Khorwyn's kit, despite the fact that the only thing remotes unique in her kit is her W. Her passive's interaction with her Q and her W definitely communicate the whole 'I want to fight lots of enemies because it makes me stronger' element of her lore. My personal issue is that her E and R are pretty bland. Yes, her E goes with the whole 'tiny bit of Darkin blood' thing you're angling for, but I really just don't like either ability in any regard. Not as they stand at least.

Suggestions

NOTE: I'm not asking you to use these. I'd just rather not sit here criticising without offering actual potential solutions.

Remove her passive and just make her Q apply it (adjusting the numbers to fit).

Remove her E and replace it with something that might actually fix her laning phase. Ideally, a dash would be preferable.

Give her ultimate something else to do aside from just being damage and a slow. If you want to draw more comparisons to Fiora, you could potentially make it so that she can dash to enemies hit by it, or something.

This looks like Mikasa From AoT In a like more British version. But i would like to see a champ that looked like the Soldiers from AoT Series that could be cool

There's an Anime I'm thinking of that has a vampirical swordswoman... I don't remember what it is.
