Zirene is a tanky support champion who slowly whittles down her foes by possessing enemies and allies alike to slowly drain her enemies' life. Once Zirene has stored up enough life essence, she can reveal her true form: a mobile and powerful fighter that can give her team a serious edge in teamfights.

Categories: Support, Fighter

Auto-attack: Zirene thrusts forward with her spear. Range: 200

Abilities Passive: Shattered Soul - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/18/icons_17611_btn.jpg Zirene will store the essence of those around her, to reconstruct her true form. She has a maximum of 200 Essence, and Essence is only lost on death, or by the use of her True Form. In addition, Zirene heals by 2 Health for every point of Essence she collects.

Q: Life Link - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/16/icons_15682_btn.jpg Enemy Targeted - Damage Ability - Defensive Zirene binds her life force to an enemy, creating a tether between them. While the tether holds, Zirene gains 1/2/3/4/5 Essence per half second, and the enemy also takes 20/30/40/50/60% of the damage Zirene takes (before resistances). While Zirene is possessing another champion, the tethered enemy also takes 20/30/40/50/60% of the damage that the possessed target takes instead. The tether breaks after 2.5 seconds or if the target travels 950 or more units away.

Cooldown: 10 (Begins after tether is broken) Range: 800 Mana Cost: 35

W: Possession - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/4/icons_3306_btn.jpg Champion Targeted - Buff/Debuff - Defensive Zirene melds her spirit with an enemy or ally, becoming untargetable, and having her movement controlled by the possessed target. The possession does not have a duration if used on allies, but it will end after 8 seconds if used on enemies; Zirene can end the ability prematurely by reactivating it. If the possessed target is Stunned or Silenced, this ability will immediately end, and Zirene will reappear next to the possessed target.

Possessed allies gain 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% of Zirene's Attack Damage, Ability Power, Armor and Magic Resist. Possessed enemies lose 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% of Zirene's Attack Damage, Ability Power, Armor and Magic Resist.

While Essence Siphon is active, it will remain active, surrounding the the possessed target. Possessed targets deal the Essence Siphon damage in an area around them, but they are not damaged by Essence Siphon.

Cooldown: 20/18/17/16/15 (Beginning when the ability is activated) Range: 800 Mana Cost: 80

E: Essence Siphon - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/12/icons_11300_btn.jpg Self Targeted - Area of effect - Damage Ability Zirene siphons the essence of the souls around her, dealing 10/16/22/28/34 (+15% AP) Magic damage per second, converting 40/50/60/70/80% of that damage (After Resistances) into Essence, with the conversion rate halved against minions and monsters.

Cooldown: 0.5 Range: 300 Mana Cost: 5 Mana/Second

R: True Form - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/12/icons_11578_btn.jpg Self Targeted - Transformation - Requires 200 Essence - Unlocked at Level 1 Zirene reconstructs her true body to bring death and vengeance to the battlefield, gaining a set of new abilities until she spends all of her collected Essence or for 20/40/60 seconds. Basic Attacks cost 10 Essence while Zirene is in her True Form. If Zirene is Possessing a target, her true form doesn't start until she casts an ability or issues a basic attack command, which immediately ends the possession. Using True Form ends all effects of her Spirit form, including Life Link and Essence Siphon. Similarly, reverting back to spirit form ends all effects of her True Form, including Mark of Justice.

Cooldown: 20/40/60 Mana Cost: No cost

Q: Righteous Thrust - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/11/icons_10228_btn.jpg Ground Targeted - Cone/Linear Skillshot - Damage Ability Zirene dashes forward 400 units, dealing 120/180/240 (+60%AP) Physical damage to enemies in a 60 Degree (200 Length) cone in front of her, and in a 400 unit line in front of her.

Cooldown: 6 Essence Cost: 40

W: Champion's Cry - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/2/icons_1438_btn.jpg Champion Targeted - Area of Effect - Damage Ability - Defensive Zirene unleashes a primal yell, dealing 100/150/200 (+30%AP) Physical damage to surrounding enemies and cleansing herself of all crowd-control effects. If used while possessing an ally, this instead cleanses the ally of all crowd-control effects.

Cooldown: 12 Range: 350 Essence Cost: 60

E: Strike of Justice - http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource_images/17/icons_16545_btn.jpg Basic Attack Enhancer - Damage Ability - Crowd Control Zirene enhances her next basic attack to deal 60/90/120 (+50% AP) bonus Physical damage and stun the target for 2 seconds, also applying a Mark of Justice on them for 8 seconds. Zirene's Basic attacks and damaging abilities deal 20/40/60 (+20% AP) True damage to the marked target.

Cooldown: 8 Essence Cost: 50

Lore:

Targon: the great mountain that many attempted to climb, but not many succeeded. However, those that did were said to ascend into the heavens, and become aspects that received great power in exchange for their humanity. Long ago, there was a young girl named Kayla Letrot, born to the Rakkor. Her parents taught her strictly lessons of determination, honor, justice, and that a strong will would overcome all. Kayla was a prodigy at the arts of war, outpacing and outfighting even the most seasoned of warriors in the tribe at the age of sixteen. Her training almost seemed unceasing, there was not many moments where Kayla would not be bettering herself, often seeking the solitude of the forests. It was at one of these training sessions that a horde of barbarians attacked her tribe, and although the Rakkor fought them off bravely, there were many losses, including the loss of her parents. Feeling burdened and responsible for her loss, she did the only thing that she thought could make it right: She attempted the impossible task of the climb up Mount Targon.

Dutifully she climbed, as her hard work paid off, her rage and determination of her loss pushing her farther and farther, past her limits, her eyes narrow and focused on nothing but the climb, shrugging off the cold, the fatigue and the cuts and bruises she sustained. Just when it looked like her body couldn't take any more, she had reached the peak, mustering the energy to stand tall and defiant, waiting, hoping that the legends were true. Before she knew it, a beam of light descended from the heavens, and took her to the land above, renaming her Zirene, the first aspect of War.

For a time, she served her new purpose with surprising efficiency, her teachings of justice and honor serving her well as she was called into battle, slaughtering all that opposed her with an almost brutal power, swift thrusts from her spear coupled with primal yells causing swift death to her enemies. Kayla was dead, and that was fine with her, that was the way she liked it. In her mind, this was her true purpose. However, it was this exact determination that made her wild, her free spirit resenting the direct control that Targon liked to exercise. One day, she observed a similar horde of barbarians raiding a village, killing a few of the guards before stealing vital supplies. This triggered painful memories in her, and she flew down from the mountain, arriving at the barbarian's camp against Targon's orders. She killed them all without warning, justifying it with the fact that these barbarians would kill many more during their lifetime, and she was actually saving lives by doing so. When she had returned to Targon, they condemned her actions, forcing her to apologize for her actions. When she would not back down, they cast her back down to earth, revoking her aspect status, punishing her by leaving her a powerless spirit, forced to roam the earth for all eternity.

For Zirene, this was not the end. She used her iron will to try and interact with the mortal realm, finding that she could harness what remained of her power to possess and link her spirit to the spirits of others. She now waits, walking among mortals, slowly stealing back her power until the time she can return, taking Targon by force if necessary, and reinstating her purpose as the true aspect of war.

Hi! I really like this concept a lot. It has some good heart to it and I do appreciate that the dual form mechanic takes on a different visual design than the norm. (Character becomes more human looking rather than less).

There are a few things that stand out to me in particular, and I’d just like to comment on them. I’m new to the champ creation process so if I say anything dumb, blame that. But hopefully I say at least one thing that helps you.

The Q is a cool support move when crossed with possession. I’m uneasy about the ratios, however. If you were to do something like take this champion into top lane, then you would have a massive boon to protecting you while Creep Scoring or when trading. Combine this with E, and it seems like there would be a huge potential to be a massive lane bully in solo lane, with not a whole lot the enemy can do about it. Maybe it should have some sort of drawback that, when used alone, forces you to commit to the conflict instead of popping it for free damage while you walk away?

The W is probably the most unique move in this kit. It allows her safety while still contributing at low health, which is nifty. And I appreciate how there’s ways for the enemy team to break her out of it when used supportively. The W also could potentially be used as a pretty decent ranged gap closer against solitary low hp targets, which is neat.

8 seconds seems an eternity for it to last on enemy champions, however. Especially since it effectively only has a two second cooldown at max level (Not counting cdr) if nobody on your team forces you out. If counting cooldown reduction, the cooldown is actually less than 8 seconds. This means that, if your keypresses are quick enough and you maintain the mana, you’d be able to possess an enemy almost constantly if there was no ally around to knock you out of it (or if your allies have things like knockup, fear, or charm instead of Stun or Silence). That’s a really huge dose of survivability while still allowing you to contribute to the fight by tossing 60% of the damage that enemy suffers to another enemy while radiating an aoe. Also, do possessed enemies take essence siphon damage, or do they just radiate it?

The E is pretty cut and dry. I do feel like maybe it should have a 1 second cooldown instead of half a second to be more in line with similar moves. I don’t think the .5 extra cd would really impact the move in any way notably though, so that’s pretty much entirely a nitpick.

True form is the second major gimmick on the champion. Does the transformation cost 200 essence, or just require 200 essence?

All of the true form moves seem pretty good. There’s some powerful stuff like self cleansing in there, but considering you have to build essence up to use it, and it takes a good chunk of your ult duration, it seems fine. The only thing I’m unsure of is Strike of Justice. It seems like you could just shotgun it near the end of your ult in order to get a free sizable stun and a large damage boost while not in your ult. Also, does it interact with Life Link?

All in all I really like the idea behind the champion and appreciate what you're doing with her (or else I wouldn't be posting on the concept!), but some of the numbers make me a little nervous and I’m not sure how fun it would be to play against with those numbers. The possession and the life link seem like they could potentially create a lot of timesinks and stalls.

Hey!

I just wanted to leave some overall pointers as to the kit.

The normal form Q,W,E are very...well...just there. I don't neccesarily mean this in a bad way, but mainly as how Zirene innately creates a kind of zone when laning. Of course, this isn't a bad thing, but there's just not too much gameplay around her apart from 'stay out of range' and 'if you get tagged, walk away and re-engage', which is counterplay, but not neccesarily very engaging to either the player or their opponent because of the simplicity that is found within the kit.

I would personally standardise the Q a little bit more to 30/35/40/45/50, just so an opponent who gets tagged with this doesn't get over half their damage returned. There also aren't any base stats up, but 35 mana seems to be incredibly cheap for what this ability does and the impact which it brings into a fight. I see that the main mana costs are in the W, but that means your Q and E are basically free and are spammable off cooldown, which removes a fair amount of decision making, particularly if you are in the jungle or a solo lane, where W does very little for you (outside of clutch dodges with a W into the opponent then out again, but again, rare) so perhaps shift some of the mana burden from the W to Q.

The R seems to be worded with a mistake, because you require 200 Essence to activate, but you can only have 200 Essence. I'm also unsure as to why there is a time limit, as the transform in itself does not seem to have a cooldown (those being on the abilities themselves), and I wouldn't personally consider giving AAs a 10 essence cost as they don't gain any benefit. I would suggest some kind of Essence empowerment for her abilities, given it's what she revolves around, but the true form does nag at me a bit - where the possession aspect is kinda tuned down for a somewhat generic bruiser-is playstyle. Also possibly consider letting ult be available at Level 1, just so your laning phase is not completely terrible pre-6.

The second part of the photo also seems a llittle compressed.

Made the necessary changes. This should be the final version for the CCOS.
