#Tips and Tricks

  • [R - Tempestuous End] is a attack so powerful that it can change the tides of many battles; knowing the right time to use it in away that the last slash can be deviled is crucial as much as remembering that W stays vulnerable to crowd control while channeling it.

  • Before investing a Mastery Point, look at the enemy team and see what enhancement will do the most for you and your team at the time of investment.

  • W starts the game weak, but becomes very powerful as it goes on. If possible, keep your teammates hope alive for the late game and try to focus on gaining experience and gold when your team is at disadvantage.

W is weak against: Cassiopeia Vladimir Teemo The Knight cannot deal with champions who have great combinations of over time damage and don't rely on dashes but rather movement boosts to run. He can easily be kited by them and doesn't have ways to fight back properly.

W is strong against: Darius Yasuo Zed High mobility melee threats don't perform well against W as well champions with bonus AD boosts. False Justice can decrease their bonus AD and Tempestuous End denies their mobility.

With a resolve and strength so intense that not even his armor and helmet can a supress it's radiance, the man called 'W' inspires Runeterra through his attitude and deeds to a aeon of heroism and hope. His unknown origin and identity surrounds his legend with mystery, but does not prevent the culmination of folk's hopes and dreams on the legend.


#Nameless Knight

The blue ragged cape is a well-known symbol around Valoran and Shuriman. Though it may be confused with a Demacian old flag, this symbol reminds the people that not all is lost, no matter what. 'W', as he is called, made fame and became a popular legend around Runeterra through the last decade thanks to his noble deeds and heroic acts.

The first story that many know and tell about him is the "Xer'Sai Slayer": In the rash desert of Shurima, a mysterious man slayed a void beast in order to protect a village of folks. Alone, the man with ragged cape sliced the beast in half. The tale know as "Vessel of Hope" tells about the unknown knight who defended a passenger ship from pirate siege; some say he blocked the cannonballs with a old shield. Around the lands reigned by the Noxian iron hand, many cities know about the knight who standed against the Noxian oppression and arrogance when no other man had the courage to do so: the man was not looking for blood and death, but wished respect from the invaders, as the citizens did not had guilt nor the military strength to prove their worthy in the Noxian way; though the folk has the habit of increasing the size of the myth, is known that he fought the lowest warbander to the strongest commander, in a never-seen challenge.

Although the legend of the Nameless Knight is well-known, nothing is certain about his past or identity. Some say he is a ascended walking among the mortals to help them; others affirm to have seen his face; there is scholars who guess that he might be a old spy retired, observing that he holds weapons from different military institutions. Even without the knowledge about the man behind the legend, the ones who had contact with him all smile slightly when talking about him. Perhaps that is all one needs to know about the Nameless Knight.


#Nameless Friend

Day 2

His positivism lead our village to blood-stained dust and his betrayal will infallibly lead him to his death, by my hand. Now that there’s only two of us, it’s pointless to care about lineage and cultural treasure; all of this is now buried like in many other villages. I've got nothing to lose anymore.

I still don’t believe I’m alive. Somehow, the poison mist exhaled through the debris, though what I inhaled before was enough to permanently damage my lungs. The shaman is still trying to figure out the true consequences of this.

Day 714

The traces and informations about his whereabouts all leads to one conclusion: capture and enslavement. He, like many other people, was tortured so they could extract information about the villages defense and weaponry. The difference is that most of them chose to die as war heroes, he in other hand choose to live as a coward. They promised to keep him alive if he opened his mouth, they never told him he would become a slave. Served him right.

Fortunately, the cough stopped a little, and the new medicine is becoming really handy. But I still sure that its effects are slowing decaying over the seasons. I can’t afford wasting time, the shaman’s prevision could be wrong. I’ve no choice but to infiltrate in Enemy territory. Is the only way to find him before it’s too late.

Day 2138

I bought some leaks and intel from a rat. He confirmed what the others said: he’s now in their army being forced to work as warbander.

Day 4274

Today begins the sixth winter since the last whereabouts of him I got. Anyone at this point would think he’s dead, but I am different. I know him. He’s persistent when it comes to survive. His positivism keep his mind sane and moves him to the safe side. I know he lives. And this brings me to a crescent doubt: at this point, what did he go through to survive in the hands of the enemy? I wonder if it's part of his divine punishment.

I need to ingest a lot of iron to counterbalance the amount of blood I cough. I should be dead by now. Breathing never felt so hard; but I can’t die before talk with him.

Day 4630

A merchant in Dawnhold saw a man with the same description taking a vessel with Needlebrook as destination. And it’s the same man wanted by the capital. If I had to guess, he’s trying to go around the mountains in order to return; either that or he’s planning on escape towards Shurima. I guess you can deceive all the people only for some time.

Day 6410

This might be the last page of this story. The concentrated medicine I took relieved the pain and cough, but after its effects end, I will be dead for sure. That won’t be a problem, I’ll still have enough time to face him.

He’s planning to travel around the desert in order to reach Bel’zhun. I’ll catch up at the middle of the trip. After all this time, I don’t believe he’s planning to go back. I think he might have lost all sense of purpose and is just wandering around the land. Though he could have something to do at Piltover, but that’s doesn’t matter for me anymore. All I want to do is hear from his mouth why he choose betray us instead of sacrificing himself. Maybe it was fear, maybe he always was a coward. I don’t know what happened on that day.

I heard the stories of the Shurima's folks. He helped and saved many innocent people there. The crescent offense from the void creatures have been causing chaos in some places there. I heard he even fought one of those, barely survived. I thought it was a different person, he wouldn’t have the courage to risk his life; he already proved that time and time again. But something must happened during those winters. Perhaps after all this time he really found a reason to die for?

I don’t know if I can forgive him yet. In any case, I’ll bring my greatsword with me. Never thought I would step on the sands where she was made. It brings me joy to think about it.

In all honesty, this kit just seems like an easily-balancable and more likeable version of Yasuo’s. Q functions like a mix of Yasuo’s Q plus his crit passive without buying crit. W seems like a mini, untargeted Yasuo E>3Q>R E seems like a much more skill expressive Windwall with actually a stronger high point but feels much better to play against.

Plus, of course, this champion is not Eastern-themed like Yasuo. A huge plus.

The ultimate is a gigantic Pantheon E. Looks glorious.

My only concern is how W applies 300 base damage plus a 120% bAD ratio twice. You could literally cut it in half and be fine, or lower the base damage slightly and make it so enemies can only be affected by one instance of damage. I think Ornn’s E works this way, as an example.

Edit: I forgot the E cooldown... hoo boy. If the 50% cooldown reduction can only happen once, it’s already far too strong for a 13-sec CD ability. I’m thinking of something a 24/22/20/18/16 sec CD that is reduced by 0.5 sec for each champion auto that he takes while the ability is on cooldown. With 30-40% CDR, which seems typical, that’s probably somewhere around a 6 sec downtime late game.
