I'm not much of a reader, but one of the stories that I've read in my time at school that I enjoyed was Beowulf, and although there are champions like Pantheon or maybe Olaf, that kind of bring out his natures and strengths, I've never felt like there was never exactly a Beowulf type champion in the game, and that there needed to be. With that, I bring you: Dane, The Sun-Sword Bearer, Dane is a knight that ventures off with his Sun-Sword into the shadow isles, to bring light back into the darkness. He is met with tough enemies and an even more grueling adventure, before he is eventually turned into a hollowed knight, just like Mordekeiser, only he still is capable of using his powers for good, despite slowly becoming corrupt by the shadows.

(As said in my other concept posts, I'm not very great at coming up with what their base stats would be, or their roles, but feel free to comment on either!)

Passive - Extrasensory Metal - When Dane is attacked with 2 spells or attacks in rapid succession, he is granted a boost of +35% speed and ignores unit collision, for 1.5 seconds. Cool-down; 12 seconds. "The curses you bleed, they will not shackle me..."

Q - Coarse - Dane spins around in his current location once, and ends with a jab in a pointed direction. The spin does 65/75/80/90/110 Physical Damage to enemies within the perimeter, and 5% less damage is dealt for every enemy minion inside. The jab at the end of the rotation does 80/95/110/120/145 (+50% AD) Physical Damage. Upon each upgrade, Dane will acquire another spin. Upon reaching his third spin, he will slowly creep forward, and perform a longer jab. Cool-down; 13.5-8 Seconds. "I yonder with sharp spirits, and even sharper blades..."

W - Radiating Edge - Dane empowers the energy inside his Sun-Sword, and his next three auto attacks within 5 seconds will burn enemies over time for 70/95/130/145/160 Ability Damage and can stack. Dane's 'Coarse' will also deal an additional +25% Ability Damage on his spins. Cool-down; 15-8 Seconds. "Valiant beams of hope bestows you, Demon!.."

E - Potent - (Passive: Minions, Monsters, and enemy champions that Dane walks through with his passive will be coated in dark infusion.) Active: Dane uses his dark infusion to transform an enemy lane minion into a demon. The demon will haunt enemies inflicted with infusion, targeting enemy champions first. Once an enemy is far enough away from Dane, the demon will give up on the hunt. The demon latches onto its targets and deals 45 AD (+15% AD) and 15 (+45% AP) every second until the target is out of range, or after 7 seconds, the demon will switch targets, to a total of 3 targets. Cool-down; 25-17 seconds. "I am not one of you, but you are one of me..."

R - Eye Of The Isle - Dane breaches a rift door that outcasts into the Shadow Realm. Violent ghosts and demons sprawl out of the realms at its base point, and will haunt, and attack enemy champions for 13 seconds. The realm spawns 10/15/20 Demons, and each enemy champion can be targeted by a maximum of 2/3/4. The Demons each deal 150/175/210 (+35% AP) to enemies they target. Dane will heal himself and allies nearby by 75% of the damage he deals after the 13 seconds are up. Cool-down; 145-90 seconds. "Melaka! Haunn! Vitali! Shaydo! Airim!"

Small note for the W: maybe change the wording from “Ability Damage” to “Magic Damage”. Magic Damage is a type of damage, and ability power increases that damage.

I like how his passive helps him combat champions that can easily kite. And from the looks of it, that MS boost isn’t too strong. One small change that you can think about, “the duration of Extrasensory Metal is refreshed if Dane is damaged by two champion attacks (abilites and auto attacks) while the buff is active. The MS boost is lowered to 17.5% if the duration of Exasensory Metal refreshes.” This change helps Dane fight champs that can permanently kite him. And also the ms boost from the passive would be 35% after it comes off of CD. So when the passive is activated the first time, it is 35%, and each time that it is refreshed the MS boost is instead 17.5%.

looking at his E, I think that would be a good place to put in some form of hard CC for our buddy. I’m thinking of instead of this minion transformation (that is very awkward and also unavailable in jungle and river fights), the active damages and roots enemy units affected by “dark infusion”. Visually, a root might make the most sense but knockup or stun would also work.

I don’t think that the current E is very good. it would only be useful in lane phase or late game, both are times where the teams would be in lanes or in each other’s bases. Your E loses all of its power when Dane fights in the jungle/river, so it needs to be changed. You can either change it to include neutral monsters, or the ability needs to be reworked completely. I personally think that my change is a good idea because it adds some nice CC into his kit, and it makes use of both his actual passive and the current E’s passive. Another idea: his Q can also spread the “dark infusion”. That way he has another way to get the root off if he can’t walk up to a target champ.

The cast paradigm of E seems needlessly limiting, especially when u consider the fact that laning is only a portion of the game experience, what will he do in team fights with E if there are no minions?

Why not let E work like Malz's curse where it deals DoT on the unit it was cast on, seems a lot like Malz's curse anyways. Maybe killing the unit its on makes it stronger or actually makes the "pet unit" appears vs simply remaing a visual effect.

This is a nice add because that was my main idea! I wanted to make a champion that could out kite, with his dash spins and jab in his Q and his movement speed boost from combat. I genuinely like your idea of the refresh after 2 spells or hits! Thanks a lot for the help :). And yes I did think the E was a little different but I don't think he'd be played jungle with the rest of his kit anyhow, definitely a top or mid laner. However, changing it to a root or maybe even a fear ability would be pretty cool too, that way he can out kite someone with his passive and Q, and fear them the other way, exceeding his pathing, and forcing his opponent into a bad spot.
