Not made by me, but I wanted to share this in case someone hasn't seen this before. Damn, it looks so nice.
EDIT: Since I only just found out that all Project skins are for human based characters, I assume this skin would be more like an Arcade Aurelion Sol.

Also, who says Project is only for humanoid? Just because so far they have been? Wouldn't that just be restricting revenue sources for Riot? Any champ can fit any theme, they just have to put in work to think how and considering this community does quite alot, there is no reason Riot can't also. As long as the skin is good enough.

Resistance and Battlecast share the same universe.

Well, they're not really limiting themselves. Each of the themes are technological, and each of them fit fairly well with their champions.
Zed is a cyborg ninja, not unlike Raiden from Metal Gear or... shudders G-G-Genji.
He's sleek and fast and crippling, much like the designs of his blades and particles.
Battlecast Urgot is... something. Not unlike the Metal Gear Rex or ZEKE.
He's heavy, packs a punch, and is essentially a one-man/tank/monster-army. His particles are fiery like Hell itself, with the sounds of pumps and machinery.
Program Camille is a Hunter AI. In hindsight, she fits better into PROJECT than Program, but whatever. Same applies to her as Zed.
Mecha Zero Sion is a giant war machine of metal and... whatever that blue energy shit is.
He's bulky, titanic, and could probably level Manhattan in about a few days (based on his in-game size). If we're going by his lore-form, which the Login Screen encapsulated so well, he could probably level Manhattan in half a day. The high-tech whirring and corrupted-sounding VO perfectly match up with this idea of a Renegade Mecha. The Prototype, if you will.
Each of these skin lines has a central idea to them.
PROJECT, having humans-- strictly humans-- as the base for their skins.
Battlecast, having monstrosities, or all-out supernatural beings, regardless of anatomy.
Program... I don't really know. They seem to be geared more towards the magical-champions (mainly those with SOME level of humanoid shape), including Hextech-powered ones it seems. Expect a Program Orianna coming SoonTM.
Mecha is larger humanoid beings, mostly a few feet taller than the average human. The current champions also seem to be very... bloodthirsty and violent.
ASol could fit in Battlecast or Eternum, which doesn't have a specific central idea to it. I mean, the only thing it has going for it is the fact that all the current champions have tails, hence why there's no Eternum Zed (that'd look hype af tho) or Eternum Ryze (also hype af).
Personally, I think Eternum would be a better fit, as both ASol and the Eternum creatures are alien in origin and nature. Tho, frankly, I don't know how I feel about ASol getting a second skin as a red/reddish one, as we already have Ashen Lord (which also has fiery effects).
So there's really, a large majority of techno-skins that champions can fall into. Excluding a few like Hextech, Super Galaxy,
-Battlecast
(honestly a better fit than Battlecast smh) 
(he can go with either PROJ or Prog) 
(once again, a good PROJECT pick as well),

: Program
: PROJECT
: Mecha
: Resistance
So on and so forth. There are a lot of champions who could fit into other techno-skins aside from these four. Lancer Warrior Pantheon, Hextech ASol, Super Galaxy Quinn, etc.
Riot isn't limited in the slightest. Maybe they're limited to the STORIES they can tell, for example, we're missing out on a PROJECT Zed vs PROJECT Shen story now because Shen is Pulsefire, and so he's not a part of PROJECT's story. But speaking in terms of skins strictly, I'd argue that Riot has a large range of skins that can fit for any champion.

Look at Vi's skins, her main has a 'pink' colour set right? Pink hair, trails of pink on her outfit, many of her skins are pink in main colour scheme too, yet she had a Warring Kingdoms which splashed green all over the place and Project which did yellow. All her skins different based on the theme without clashing in look and yet we still know it's Vi because of her gauntlet's and design.
Camille can do the same, just because she has a Programme, there is no reason a Project (aside from the narrative) couldn't work if they make it different enough as her identity is her design, not what colour scheme she currently has.
Same goes for Shen, in your last point, is it the case that now he has Pulsefire, he'll never get Project? He's perfect for it and I'm sure fans would part with their money for it too. This is what I mean by limiting their options.

Well, they obviously COULD do a PROJECT Shen and Camille, but Riot has never made two skins that overlap each other within the same universe. Altho Pulsefire isn't part of a specific universe, they can be in ANY universe. So if they visit PROJECT, it could technically count as an overlap.
Whether it's due to inflation in a certain theme (like technological, hence why Kog has Battlecast but Hextech is a Mythic Skin), or the aforementioned narrative view, Riot never has created two skins from the same universe/theme for a champion.
And I highly doubt Yi would be getting all that lmao. There'd be a massive uproar beyond anything the League community has ever seen.

Limiting only certain champs to their popular skin lines just hinders profits. If Riot think profits can be made by having a Project Ziggs, Brand, Janna, Malphite or whatever they want, they'll make it. Their issue comes from skins looking too similar not if the skin 'fits' the theme because ALL champs fit ALL themes.

(the only one with no real classification are chemtechs group and hextech) Project: humans Battlecast: non-human body shape with exception of creator viktor (Resistance skins not included) (Black) Mecha: large humanoid but not human characters Program: Human/ humanoid (includes IBlitzcrank)(white and teal) Lancer: Humanoid (if you count hecarim as humanoid) (sleak white -rouge) Hextech: Anything (bronze +electric Blue) Chemtech/ Bioforge/ Augmented: Humans (black and neon green) Eternum?: monsters/ non-human (bright red and Black) (Alien)

His stars could look like old visual effect fire in those games, and his abilities could have a similar look. I know we just got a new set of battle boss skins but I still think it might suit him well.
