####Title Fix: Honestly can we just get a completely fresh/new client at this point?

  • One that doesn't use your entire RAM?

  • One that doesn't lag for no reasons even if you have a decent PC RIG?

  • One that has an option to disable certain animations and features to make it run even more smoothly?

  • Or you know, one that actually functions properly?

The amount of bugs/issues/lag that the current Client has is unbelievable. And there are even more issues outside Client. So it would be nice to just get a completely revamped Client that has better UX (User Experience) because the UX in it's current form is literally a joke in comparison to a lot of game launchers out there.

If they could resolve the Client Issues then they could move on to resolve the In-Game issues (like the recent Mouse related issues, alt tabbing out of game, massive fps drops, really high ping and so on...).

Instead of making League from ground up in a mobile platform they should of done it to PC first since that is their main Platform where most players play the game.

Let's not forget the super cool feature of going to loot, then going to store, then back to loot so it actually works instead of just being a black screen.

Client crashed 3 times one day and i didnt notice that the loading was stuck, i tried to close it an it wouldnt close and took over my entire pc i couldnt click or control anything outside of the league game loading screen, ended up getting a leaver mark lost 20 lp and had to sign out of my user profile and back in to open the game, only for it to happen like 2-3 games later.

Thought it was just me freezing, someone tried to say it was my 'crappy' pc, but it doesn't freeze when doing anything else only in some matches as I'm playing

Gorantharon1 votes

Yup, they borked the game loading somehow and now there's a chance for the whole thing to hard freeze.

I thought I was the only one with the random ass alt tabbing when I used my active item binded to my mouse. I lost my last gold 2 promo game because of shit like this in a crucial baron fight. I also lost promos cause of the client crashing in champ select and not letting me reconnect when the game started.

This game is a mess right now and for how simple it is and how much of a massive company Rito has become it's unacceptable. Maybe putting more energy into solving issues instead of making the next lux louis vuitton cringy skin would be a good idea.

People need to understand that they purposely added a very poorly coded spyware to their client and it's fucking up the performance pretty drastically. It's not a matter of an entire new client, it's a matter of coding your spyware properly.

Tencent putting stuff in our PC's? It's not a far stretch.

Many of Tencent's software and services are remarkably similar to those of competitors. The founder and chairman, Huateng "Pony" Ma, famously said, "[To] copy is not evil." A former CEO and president of SINA.com, Wang Zhidong, said, "Pony Ma is a notorious king of copying." Jack Ma of Alibaba Group stated, "The problem with Tencent is the lack of innovation; all of their products are copies."[205] As of 2009, the company held 400 patents.[206]

In 2015, security testing firms AV-Comparatives,

AV-TEST and Virus Bulletin jointly decided to remove Tencent from their software whitelists. The Tencent products supplied for testing were found to contain optimisations that made the software appear less exploitable when benchmarked but actually provided greater scope for delivering exploits.[207] Additionally, software settings were detrimental to end-users protection if used. Qihoo was later also accused of cheating, while Tencent was accused of actively gaming the anti-malware tests.

Tencent's WeChat platform has been accused of blocking Douyin's videos. In April 2018, Douyin sued Tencent and accused it of spreading false and damaging information on its WeChat platform, demanding RMB 1 million in compensation and an apology. In June 2018, Tencent filed a lawsuit against Toutiao and Douyin in a Beijing court, alleging they had repeatedly defamed Tencent with negative news and damaged its reputation, seeking a nominal sum of RMB 1 in compensation and a public apology. In response, Toutiao filed a complaint the following day against Tencent for allegedly unfair competition and asking for RMB 90 million in economic losses.

Are your problems in game or just the client ?

Most problems are with the client. As for the game I run it with no problems, but occasionally something goes wrong and i'm perma stuck on like 20 fps the whole game.

Sometimes I use the AMD Radeon Anti-Lag feature to help which does help a little bit but sometimes it doesn't and that's when I realise that there's issues with the game not my PC.

I tried to see if this issue occurs on other games but I have no problem running them.

What exactly do you mean it gets stuck can you give me detail ?

What is your cpu usage at time of frame rate loss ?

What is your ping ?

What situation does it occur ?

How is it reproduced?

The client is a difficult beast as described prior especially loading in issues when another player is running an ancient rig.

I'm not sure what causes it, the moment the game starts it sometimes starts with Low FPS, around 40-50 when i'm in base and then it drops to like 20 FPS when I get to lane.

CPU Usage is something I can't remember or checked at the time (I would check now but i'm on holiday and I don't have access to my PC).

I never really have issues with my ping like most people do, mine is usually a solid 15-20 at all times. Unless i'm downloading something then it goes up to 40-60 but I usually never download anything whilst playing League.

As to the Situation and how to Produce it, hard to say as it happens randomly.

I would suggest using one of these or something similar to these to monitor the performance of your rig to help determine what the issue is exactly.

Well, I guess we all have to buy supercomputers to use LoL. Almost everyone is having these problems, go into a game and ask in all chat how many people have problems. Do that every single game. If for the majority of the games the majority of people say they don't have problems, I will become a Yasuo OTP.

Decently expensive for everyone who are middle class and below And most people do have higher than a 3 ghz processor and those that don't have ones that are 3 ghz, can be boosted to 3 or are like 2.8 to 2.7 not ideal but should work fine this is not even considering that the minimum and recommended requirements are generally always a bit inflated for games people are not going to waste a considerable amount of money just to play a game, especially people who are poorer and/or cannot afford to spend money on such stuff the recent cpu usage has not benefited the game, what is riot's justification they said they wanted to help lower spec machines instead they are killing them I have a 4 ghz cpu that is being clock boosted a bit, im facing these problems, altho i will admit my gpu isn't very good, and is probably bottle necking the cpu a bit, it should still be able to easily comfortably run the game even at higher graphic levels i face these problems playing on low spec mode i do not want to tell my specs for reasons. but believe me when i say they are all considerably above the minimum requirements

The game is ever expanding and growing it is an inevitable situation I do not know what to tell you.

Riot can’t just make there game less demanding it is already optimized to run as efficiently as possible.

The minimum requirements take into account the factor that the game will expand so if you did your homework correctly and built the rig right you can accommodate the increased usage.

Personally I just built a new rig for this very reason and honestly not very expensive.

You should look into upgrading your rig if you are having bottlenecking issues which is a very real thing. Clock boostIng is not healthy long term.

Where are you getting that information? I'm pretty sure the game is a ten-year-old hack job based on a port of a mod of another game, with hundreds of replacements and retrofits and additions throughout that time, riddled with technical debt.

The people complaining about ingame issue are not even playing the game on rigs that meet the minimum requirements of the game and you feel it’s appropriate to point the finger at the company ?

Are you sure? Which people would those be? I built my PC in 2009 and it meets the minimum requirements. And although I don't get the most stable performance in-game (I haven't reinstalled Windows since 2014; I really should do that again one of these days) and the client is slow and laggy while hogging a ton of CPU and RAM, I don't get all the client problems described in this thread - only some of them. I also play on a laptop when I'm out of town, which far exceeds the minimum specs and runs LoL super smoothly but still experiences some of the client issues mentioned in this thread and others - again, only some of them (like Loot not showing sometimes until I toggle back and forth between other pages). A more powerful computer may give a better framerate, but it won't have an effect on whether e.g. the "accept game" modal dialog disappears as it's supposed to when you enter champ select.

Anyway, the part of your post I was commenting on was the statement that the game is perfectly optimized and has no room for improvement.

i Understand but my rig should be able to eazily play the game according to the minimum requirements if i was playing on top quality i could understand some very rare occasional crashes, freezes, and fps drops, if i was running multiple high demanding apps at once with league but im not im usually only running firefox, and LoL in low spec mode according to the minimum requirements i should be good with absolutely no problems at all the bottlenecking problem shoudn't even be affecting LoL, other stuff yes, but not LoL my problem is that i excel all the recommended requirements comfortably, with the exception of my gpu which is still a decently better than the recommended gpu then why do i face these problems i do more demnading stuff but those work alright then why dosent Lol

Im on the lower end with a laptop but i dont crash. I am on windows 7 tho, which i would think would be worse, but its not. I dont think specs have anything to do with it, its just certain interactions with software I think is the issue, and how certain hardware is being used.

League of legends is not a demanding game graphics whatvto does require is a pretty heavy amount of cpu usage to keep everything running smooth.

10 people across the world have to look at the same thing at exactly the same microsecond. If your cpu can’t keep up it will hiccup.

The most I’ve seen is an i7 but it was running at 2.4 ghz which is well below spec for league.

We have confirmed a 2.9 can play game at a stable point.

3 is minimum spec.
