I love Shyvana's new splash art

I love Shyvana's new splash art, your splash art team did another good job.

As for vayne's new splash... it's well done, but the colors are weird. It looks like you were going for 3d art that needs those cheap bi-colored glasses.

I actually have the opposite opinion.

Shyvana's stance in the splash just seems wrong for her. She never walks like that in game, she always has a wide stance. Wide stances grant stability and power because you're well balanced - but her seductive walk doesn't suit her personality or do her playstyle.

As for Vayne's it seems more like to me that it's supposed to look like a panel from a comic. Vayne's character takes a lot of inspiration from Batman and the stark contrasts of that picture just kind of emulate the aesthetic a "dark" graphic novel. And her outfit is black, blue and red so it's not like they added any colors for that type of 3D effect - that's just what she is!

Common, Shyvana looks badass now.

Also I'm fine with the overall profile of Vayne's image and I get the comic book nature. It's just that some of the colors seem troublesome to me.

She's doing a catwalk.

You cannot run from that position, she would have to move her legs apart or she'd trip over them. And that's the split-second delay that puts you behind in a fight or flight situation.

It's drawn well, but it's just a bad pin-up pose for Shyvana when she's really not that type of champion. If it was Miss Fortune in that pose, it'd make sense. She's flirtatious and one of her in-lore strengths is her allure. But that's not true of Shyvana, and it doesn't do her character a lot of justice.

It may just be because of the mismatched shoulderpads, or maybe it's just because I've watched this thing too many times (specifically the villains' swagger walk at 00:32) but I see it less as being a seductive walk, and more of being a strong swagger. Not so much a powerful stance, but a confident one, especially with the way she's bearing a fiery set of claws that looks ready to strike.

Cinder Fall is badass in her own way. We can't compare them.

:\ I wanted to comeback with something witty, but damn, I'm bummed. Yea Yang and Cinder can strut all day, but it works on them because they're all in it. This splash her has her half-in strut and half-in menacing stance. It lacks confidence in itself. The third pic I posted in my reply to OP is a RWBY strut. :)

There are things to like about it, but I hate it. It looks... off. It's like it doesn't know whether it wants to be sexy or menacing -it doesn't pull off both.

You want sexy? http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/153/9/7/ice_drake_shyvana_portrait_riotzeronis_by_zeronis-d67lbpp.jpg

You want menacing? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j2cLf9tTdi0/T7IIZZiXA6I/AAAAAAAAClU/1-jcTXNaueE/s1600/darkflame_shyvana2.jpg

You want both? http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/197/7/c/7c0b8c5240f298160067a2a82818c5cd-d57e46f.jpg

Shyvana is an extreme character. Her splashes should always capture something. The old splash captured power. Ironscale captures heart. Boneclaw captures predatory nature. Darkflame captures fury. Ice Drake captures remorselessness. This new skin doesn't say anything other than "Hey, I'm a skin in pretty new lines and colors!" This is why I hate most of the Chinese artworks (I do like some though.) The art is all skill and technique with no heart nor care. :(

I'm normally not a fan of getting to see Shyvana's hair on display, because I think not being able to see it gives her a more inhuman appearance. However, I will happily make the trade of getting to see her hair in exchange for her skin taking on a drastically scalier looking texture. In fact, I'm actually kind of sad now. For ages I've been dreading the idea of Shyvana getting a VU, fearing that she'd become more human looking if she did. Now, seeing this art, I'm disappointed that she's NOT getting a VU, because I would KILL to get that level of detail onto her in-game. Everything about that piece of art is absolutely gorgeous and amazingly badass and I want it so bad.

My opinion on Shyvana's new splash: I hate it.

I like the current Shyvana splash, and its biggest problems are problems that would need a VU to solve: she doesn't look particularly tanky in human form, and she needs more clothes. The new one looks more generic and too human, and I don't like the art style. It's also a rather static pose, like her current splash. A better splash would involve her doing something. (Casting her E? Melee killing something? Perhaps a little lore, protecting Jarvan IV from a dragon?)
