Hello boys and grills,

in the last Ask Riot article we've been told that TT is becoming a burden for Riot Games, a maintenance that will soon be moved into RGMQ if the playrate drops further down.

So why is this happening? Why nobody plays TT? I remember playing it 3 years ago every time I didn't have time for 40-90 minutes long draft pick. Then I realized Riot doesn't give a fck about that game mode, ballancing is a joke to them so I stopped playing. Recently I got into alpha client test and TT map was just enabled there so I played a game and - it was actually fun.

Therefore I gave it a little thought and here are some ideas how to bring back this mode so we can still have variety and a nice game mode for those who either have no time to paly (like me recently) or have only small group of friends - or just plainly like this mode. The basic idea is to make this game mode faster, easier to "get into" and more appealing to the public.

  • Unified itemization One thing that may discourage ppl from palying are different items. Like me - I wanted to buy item 3157 which in TT is item 3090. Why?? I never used it's active, because somehow in the thick of the battle I always thought that item 3090 = item 3089 and only after I died I remembered that actually item 3090 = item 3157. I can see how players may get confused and dislike this game mode because who wants to learn brand new itemization? There is already so much to learn in a MOBA game, if you want players to play TT, I think items should be the same as they are in all other games. ARAM has exactly the same items as SR, why not TT? Already some champions has different CD or scaling on their abilities because of the nature of TT, so there is nothing that is preventing you from making itemization the same as on SR and in case of need adjust the stats. Sure, those 10 hard core TT players would hate it, but if it brings new players into playing it, it's worth the few hate Reddit posts, right?

  • Ballancing Create a separate ballance team for TT map. That mode really needs it if you plan on keeping it alive. Nobody wants to see the same 6 champions in every game, buying exactly the same items. Sure, that'll cost you some money and Tencent overlords would hate you for that, but this team can ensure better ballance and more fun playing TT.

  • Delete that base tower Last time I played this game there was no turret in the base. Why it's there? Whose retarded idea was that? This turret makes this game last longer for another 5-15 minutes (depends on team comps, player's skills and some other things). TT should be FAST. I remember in the past times -except in few games where we had no idea what were we doing we ended up playing a 40 minutes long game, but that was an extreme and we were lvl 16. This game should end at 25 min max, if teams knows what are they doing. Delete this tower, it's only prolonging the agony of defeat.

  • More gold and exp from minions/jungle If you want to shave off few more minutes of the gameplay increase the gold and exp gain from jungle and minions. Because now this game is mostly about early-mid champions. That would open more options to play even late game champions. Also the best thing about TT are skirmishes. And best ones are when you have your lvl 6, right? Even if you don't agree with increasing gold and exp gain, make it so that you can hit lvl 6 little bit faster, so the fun may begin even sooner. Also won fights usually mean pushed objective so it'll shorten the game time as well.

  • More IP for playing The game I played yesterday lasted for 28 minutes and I got 75 IP. And I really had to try. Now I can play Intermediate bot game for 20 minutes and get 89 IP. I know, this should not be about IP farming, but look at it - why should I play TT where I have to really try and play PvP, if I can sleep for 20 minutes in a bot game and get more IP? Raise the IP gain into 96 IP for win, 46 IP for loss. I know, SR is bigger map with more obbjectives and blah blah blah... I can win intermediate bot game in 10 minutes and get more IP than for winning TT PvP match. I don't say give us free IP and make TT into IP farming mode, but make it more appealing than bot games. (As for naysayers, I am an adult, I work for living and I already spent shtload of money on this game, I don't really need IPs this is my genuine opinion how to make TT more appealing)

  • More RGMQ on TT Make ppl remember that this map is still here by implementing it into RGMQ. What about TT Hexakill? TT URF (that sounds like fun), TT Doombots and so on...

  • All-Stars and events with TT Next tiem you do all-stars event, make sure they do play on TT. All-Stars is for funzies only so nobody would mind and when players sees their beloved pros palying that game mode, I am sure they would at least try it. Make it popular by pros playing it. It may do wonders for the good ol' TT map. Also encourage your comunity managers or tournament organizers to create events where ppl would play TT. Even stupid king of the hill but played on TT. You can spare few Triumphant Ryze skins and few RP cards for that, right?

  • Show that Riot care about TT Show ppl that playing TT is good, and it has a meaning. Make some tournaments, write articles, mention TT more often and show it some love during Harrowing. Why don't you gather some of the best TT ranked teams and make series of articles about them and them talking how to play TT properly? And put it on the front page. Show there is a META game and tactics involved and that TT is completely different game. Show us some TT challenger players.... if there are those :-D Give TT recognition and it'll pay back.

No wonder ppl don't play it if you are literally hidng TT from our sights by being quiet about it and not really caring about the game ballance and mode itself. Or was this your plan all along just to get rid of another game mode? What's next? ARAM? :(

So this is my wall of text, thanks for your time reading it and feel free to give your own input on the matter, I wonder what others have to say about this. :-)

Different beasts. Wooglet's was originally added to help out Mages, who were weak against the confined brawling on TT and CS. Plus, it mitigated the trap option of rushing Deathcap. Adjusting champ stats to compensate for its removal would require numerous changes to champion base stat and growths. It'd be a mess and likely much more confusing to new players.

Delete that base tower

Which tower are you talking about? The nexus tower? That's always been around. Its attacks got buffed to compensate for the fact it has to defend against minions from both sides. If you're already dealing with the nexus tower, taking out the other inhib to close out the game shouldn't be much of a problem if you know what you're doing.

How? I typically get 40 IP for a 20 minute Inter Co-op game.

What about TT Hexakill?

RGM Hexakill has always been on TT.

Riot supplies prizing, but doesn't handle community tournaments in any way besides that. It's on the organizers themselves to do Treeline stuff. Unfortunately, with the removal of Riot prizing for online tournaments, it's a lot harder now.

As an aside, shouldn't this go in Gameplay instead? It involves gameplay around the existing Treeline mode rather than any sort of new creation or anything.
