An item that spawns Wards randomly (ex-post from Gameplay)

(My item concepts always get downvoted in Gameplay. Thought I might be in the wrong boards)

As a disclaimer: This effect does not have to be part of the alternative Sightstone upgrades. I'm just using one as basis to show where it could be. It could, of course, have its own item tailored around it.

##Eye of the Oasis

  • Cost: 2200 Gold
  • Recipe: Sightstone + Nomad's Medallion + 550 Gold
  • 150% base Health Regen
  • 150% base Mana Regen
  • 200 Health
  • UNIQUE Passive - Favor: Being near a minion death without dealing the killing blow grants 6 Gold and 10 Health.
  • UNIQUE Passive - Warding: Consumes a charge to place a Stealth Ward that reveals the surrounding area for 180 seconds. Holds up to 3 charges which refill upon visiting the shop.
  • ** UNIQUE Passive - Seer: Spawns a Stealth Ward that reveals the surrounding area for 60 seconds in a random brush that has no Stealth Ward or Vision Ward in it (59 second cooldown). This Stealth Ward does not count towards the ward limit.**

The effect can create interesting situations. If the Support in the bottom lane rushes it, they can hinder gank attempts in the top lane. It can help the weaker player by warding from afar instead of face checking brush. It forces the enemy to adjust: They would see the Ward spawning if its near. Otherwise, they would have to live in constant fear that the enemy has warded the brush even if you've pressured the enemy and they've had no time to ward. It doesn't feel punishing or too rewarding. A bad Ward will only last for 60 seconds. A good Ward, too. The RNG can be diminished by warding brushes.

Edit: The Stealth Ward cannot spawn in the spawn brush twice. This could be achieved simply by having the Stealth Ward last 1 second longer than its cooldown (I changed it above).

Edit 2: There are 36 brush on Summoner's Rift, I believe. So the chance of a 'good' Ward (or whatever Ward you want) is 1 in 36, or 2.78%. This amount changes per Ward placed and Ward destroyed.

| Amount of unwarded brush // | Good Ward Chance (in %) // | Increase from last Chance | |- | 36 | 2.78 || | 35 | 2.86 | ~0.08 | | 34 | 2.94 | ~0.08 | | 33 | 3.03 | ~0.09 | | [...] | | 30 | 3.33 | | 31 | 3.23 | ~0.1 | | [...] | | 25 | 4 | | 24 | 4.17 | ~0.17 | | [...] | | 11 | 9.09 | | 10 | 10 | ~0.91 |

As you can see, the chance of a 'good' Ward increases more and more the more brush you have warded. So this item rewards having a team that wards a lot more than it does just warding some (--> it's better for team ranked). But that also means that destroying one Ward of an enemy team that wards a lot also diminishes that chance by a lot, especially if the Ward you destroyed was in a bad spot, since the chance increases that the random Ward will spawn there. Because of that, finding any Ward with the Sweeping Lens is always good if the enemy has the random Ward effect.
And even a 'bad Ward' will always have the chance to spot an enemy.

The problem with this is it's ridiculously gold-efficient. Just the random ward placement alone will net you 1500g free gold in a standard match (one lasting roughly 30 minutes) if you rush it. Coupled with the stats and additional passives, you get something most supports would rush 90% of the time.

Additionally, the meta is slowly shifting towards snowballing (faster paced games). When you have an item that randomly wards every X amount of seconds, along with an item that allows you to place up to three wards every X seconds, AND a trinket that allows you to ward from a large distance that doesn't go towards the total ward count, you're going to be left with one person being capable of lighting up the map without much effort.

With the map being lit up again, people will take less risks, and less risks being more afk farming, and more afk farming leads to stagnant games (according to Riot).

I could definitely see something like this as an item if it was it's own thing (and you couldn't purchase another Sightstone-type item to compliment it), but otherwise it'll be counter-productive towards the changes to wards Riot has done so far.

Having vision is incredibly strong. It's why changes have been constantly occurring over the seasons. An item that randomly gives vision of the map for 60 seconds every 59 seconds will always either be too strong or too weak.
