[Rework Concept] Kayle and Morgana, the Sisters Divided

Legends tell of two sisters who shattered the Darkin who once ruled Runetera. Though many details of the story have been lost to time. It is said that it all started over a simple disagreement that drove the sisters apart, to the point where they tried to take the other's life. One sister sold her body to a Darkin for the opportunity to kill her sister. The other sister climbed to the highest peak of Runeterra, in hopes that the Aspects will have the power to kill her sister. The stories tell of how the rage filled Darkin flew to the top of the mountain. The two stood face to face with one another, one fused with the body of a living sword, the other clutching a crystal of Targon himself. In a single moment, the blade and crystal each sister held was plunged into the heart of the other. It is said on that day that the top of Runeterra danced with lights, and all the Darkin who witnessed that light were blinded by it, becoming touched by the Aspects.

The souls of the objects switched, the blade becoming a tool of the Aspects and the crystal becoming imbued with the Darkin. Each sister backing away from one another, the enchanted objects still in their hearts. Kayle managed to pull the once living blade from her body, being healed by the light of the Aspects, while poor Morgana was once again possessed by that Darkin, which was now jutting from her still beating heart.

Some believe that if the two sisters were to ever again clash, that the accursed Darkin will once again rule Runeterra.

Kayle, the Aspect's Blade Ranged

Passive - Blessed Blade: Kayle's basic attacks have a capped attack speed. Her basic attacks and damaging abilities apply stacks of Holy Fervor to her attack target, which reduces their armor and magic resist with each stack, up to a cap.

Q - Heavenly Rapture: Kayle releases a sphere of light that travels in a line, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and briefly slowing them. If the sphere hits an ally, they are healed and cleansed.

W - Blessed Light: Kayle blesses the target area for several seconds, causing allies who stand on the location to become Blessed, gaining bonus health regeneration and deal bonus magic damage with every attack or damaging ability they make, their Blessed damage applies stacks of Holy Fervor.

E - Righteous Fury - Passive: Kayle's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage.

  • Active: Kayle targets an allied champion, or herself, cloaking them in light, which shields them from physical damage, based on Kayle's ability power, for a few seconds. While the shield is active, it uncaps their attack speed, and grants them bonus attack and ability cast range.

R - Intervention: Kayle will target a champion and dash to them, then she thrusts her sword through their heart, suppressing them, granting them invulnerability, immunity and reducing their health to 1, but they can't be reduced below 1 health, for a few seconds. After, they are brought to half health.

  • If targeting a Morgana you will swap all the abilities of your champions at the end of this ability.

Morgana, the Heart of the Darkin

Passive - Darkin Heart: Whenever Morgana damages an enemy, she gains a stack of Beating Heart, which causes her to heal for the damage she deals, increasing the heal with each stack, up to a cap.

Q - Shadow Binds: Morgana releases a sphere of darkness that travels in a line, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and temporarily rooting them.

W - Damning Soil: Morgana infects the target area for several seconds, causing enemies who stand on the location to take magic damage every half second. Every second they are in the area, they gain a stack of Damned, which causes them to take more damage from any source.

E - Darkin Blood - Passive: Morgana's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage.

  • Active: Morgana targets an allied champion, or herself, covering them in the scales of a Darkin, which shields them from magic damage, based on Morgana's ability power, for a few seconds. While the shield is active it grants them immunity from crowed control effects.

R - Soul Shackle: Morgana will target a champion, shooting a tendril into their heart, tethering to them. That champion will have tendrils shoot from them, tethering to all near by enemy champions. After a few seconds the tendrils pull the enemies to your target ally, stunning the enemies and dealing magic damage to them in the process.

  • If targeting a Kayle you will swap all the abilities of your champions at the end of this ability.

Swapping will cause Kayle to become a Darkin, and Morgana to become an angel of the Aspects.

This would turn kayle into a support, there's no point in using the ult on your ally if it oneshots ANYONE, and i srsly don't want Caitlyn to have like 1300 + X attack range. Also this seems to take kayle away from being an aoe dps to become a supportive teamfighter (if not just a support) which i don't think mains will like The swapping would mean you have to Master 2 champions even though some people would rather only play one.

morgana could be fine if the numbers are right, the ult however is just an upgraded Varus ult.

as for the lore, it's neat but i'd rather see them still being an angel vs fallen angel and while they're being hyped atm the darkin really don't seem that interesting to me.

As a Kayle main, no. Kayle is not a support. Do not change her W, E, and R to make her a support only.

E - Righteous Fury - Passive: Kayle's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage. Active: Kayle targets an allied champion, or herself, cloaking them in light, which shields them from physical damage, based on Kayle's ability power, for a few seconds. While the shield is active, it uncaps their attack speed, and grants them bonus attack and ability cast range.

What the hell is this? You destroy Kayle's ability as a ranged carry and turn her completely into a support.

W - Blessed Light: Kayle blesses the target area for several seconds, causing allies who stand on the location to become Blessed, gaining bonus health regeneration and deal bonus magic damage with every attack or damaging ability they make, their Blessed damage applies stacks of Holy Fervor.

This is not only useless in a teamfight, but takes away Kayle's ability to sustain against poke from mid laners and anti-bruiser tops.

Q - Heavenly Rapture: Kayle releases a sphere of light that travels in a line, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and briefly slowing them. If the sphere hits an ally, they are healed and cleansed.

Sounds overpowered as fuck.

R - Intervention: Kayle will target a champion and dash to them, then she thrusts her sword through their heart, suppressing them, granting them invulnerability, immunity and reducing their health to 1, but they can't be reduced below 1 health, for a few seconds. Allies are fully healed after.

Where is the self cast?

Kayle's basic attacks have a capped attack speed.

This champion is Kayle, not Jhin.

If targeting a Morgana you will swap all the abilities of your champions at the end of this ability.

And this isn't unbalance-able in the slightest?

Overall I am disgusted in the perversion of what kind of champion Kayle is in this game. You clearly have no idea what you talking about, but instead are split balling ideas. My advice is for you to understand the champion you are talking about at a fundamental level first.

As a Morgana main, I approve of both the lore and the gameplay update. However, the whole "Swap when they ult each other" seems very difficult, not to mention difficult for both players. Still glad you didn't change Morgana's kit much!

I main Morgana, she is my favourite champion in the game for so many reasons, so here is my input.

I think the story should emphasize on the disagreement with Kayle more. It should go into detail about how Morgana fell because she had enough of Kayle's righteous tyranny and believed everyone should choose their own free path. That part of the story is the most interesting because it makes you think which sister is actually the "bad" one or "good" one. People judge Morgana by her appearance and say she's the bad one when in reality there is no "good" or "bad" one, it's up to the individual to decide. It's kind of like Death Note in a way.

I think in her joke when she says "Not all Angels are good" it's not about herself, but rather about her tyrannical sister's viewpoint. Even in most of her movement quotes you can see she's pissed off that they branded her as Fallen for disagreeing and she's suffering and wants revenge.

For your abilities, I think it needs to keep the same names "Dark Binding" "Tormented Soil" "Black Shield" "Soul Shackles". The passive is good though, keep that. Her current passive Soul Siphon is almost irrelevant and needs a rework.

I don't like how your new E combines AP and AD with the user, Black Shield doesn't need a buff it's already one of the most game changing abilities and to this day people are still whining about how OP they think it is.

TL;DR Morgana needs a new reworked passive and a new voice/line of dialogue, otherwise she's in a good place imo.

I love the lore

Ok, let's start First, the lore is wonky and I'm having trouble comprehending what's happening. At the least, the darkin are attached to weapons; a crystal is not a weapon in it of itself. Plus, I prefer the idea of order versus chaos that they generally embody right now (how well they do so right now I will not comment on)

Now the Reworks:

Kayle: AS is already capped, you don't need to explicitly say that unless the cap for her is lower Why you make her a support? When you say cleanse, do you mean remove CC? Fully healed is completely an utter bullshit. Straight Invincibility on her ult is part of why she's being reworked; buffing it just makes it worse Switching abilities, while cool, is generally a terrible interaction. Some people will like Kayle, others Morg. Having some interaction is fine but completely changing how to play midgame is a terrible idea, especially if they are going to be building differently And what is basically a free one shot is complete bullshit

Morg; No comment since you basically changed nothing The point of swapping being a bad idea stands

now BRB, musing over a champion based around switching abilites because that, if built with a whole kit in mind, would be interesting.

Aside from the gameplay aspects, the lore doesn't sit right with me. They both turn so readily to killing one another? Here's a suggestion:

"It is said that it all started over a simple disagreement that drove the sisters apart—Kayle, having defeated somewhat more of the Darkin in their combined struggle, became overproud. In anger, Morgana dueled her and lost. She then turned to the one thing that threatened their power—the Darkin. As they bonded, however, the Darkin feigned weakness. But as soon as Morgana grew unwary, it struck, possessing her body. Upon witnessing the terrible transformation, Kayle climbed to the highest peak of Runeterra, in hopes that the Aspects would have the power to purify her sister. The stories tell of how the rage-filled Darkin flew to the top of the mountain. The two stood face-to-face, one fused with the body of a living sword, the other clutching a crystal of Targon himself. In a single moment, the blade and crystal each sister held was plunged into the heart of the other. It is said that on that day that, the top of Runeterra danced with lights.

The souls of the objects switched, the blade becoming a tool of the Aspects and the crystal becoming imbued with the Darkin. Each sister backing away from one another, the enchanted objects still in their hearts. Kayle managed to pull the once living blade from her body, being healed by the light of the Aspects, while Morgana was once again possessed by the Darkin, which was now jutting from her still-beating heart."

I thought overall it was a good story, so I kept it mostly the same. Thoughts?
