[Champion Concept] [CCC] Jervast, the Anger Point
This is my entry for the October Champion Concept Contest. Had I posted Allex a few days later, I would have gotten him in here. Oh well. Here's Jervast!
Lore:
A rustle in the brush. Sun low under the horizon. This was the time for the bat to fly. Food had come into his hunting grounds, he knew it. What else could have come, however, was not on his mind. He had been starved for the day. As a small moth came into view, the bat silently navigated to it, snatching it in his jaws. He savored the snack, enjoying every bite. Then something occurred to the bat. Moths don't cause rustles in brush. He peered down below, eyeing footprints on the soil. Curious, the bat followed them. As he flew, he noticed some creatures cowering in fear, and others huddled over piles of dead fur. The bat's curiosity grew even greater. He reached a spot in the forest he had never seen before, hidden among the tallest trees. He peered around what seemed like the biggest, noting a stash of strange objects. They seemed foreign in nature, and some seemed to glow. Though the bat couldn't read it, one of the trinkets was labeled "Bottled Sentience". Snap The bat jumped from his perch, fleeing the scene. He looked behind him to see a raccoon, aiming a slingshot in his direction. All the bat saw in its eyes was rage. The bat shrieked in terror as the rock nested inside the weapon took flight. He heard the raccoon mutter as the darkness overtook him. "Nobody goes near my stash!"
Stats:
HP: 418 (+81 per level), 1876 at level 18 HP5: 4.9 (+0.68 per level), 17.14 at level 18 Resource: 100 Fury Attack Damage: 47 (+4 per level), 119 at level 18 Attack Speed: 0.673 (+4.1% per level), 1.17 at level 18 Armor: 19 (+3 per level), 73 at level 18 Magic resist: 30 (+0 per level), 30 at level 18 Movement Speed: 340 Attack range: 495 (Ranged)
Primary role: Marksman
Jervast is just as the lore indicates: a raccoon with a slingshot. In terms of gameplay, he is one of those AD carries that casts plenty of spells, e.g. Twitch, Lucian (who I based Jervast's stats on), etc. He uses fury for his resource, but with a unique twist that is not present in the other champions with fury (Tryndamere, Shyvana, Gnar, and Renekton).
Innate: Furious assault
Jervast gains 5 fury for every basic attack used. Fury deteriorates at a rate of 2 per second out of combat. Jervast's movement speed is increased by 1% for every 1 fury Jervast has, up to 100%.
Q: Splitter
Jervast sends a throwing knife sailing through the air, damaging the first enemy hit. The knife flies farther as Jervast gains fury.
Physical damage: 20/50/80/110/140 (+0.6 total AD) Cooldown: 11/10/9/8/7 seconds Unaided Range: 900 Maximum Range: 1100
W: Ammunition
Toggle: Jervast switches from the rocks he throws to explosives that deal bonus magic damage in an area at the cost of attack speed reduction and fury.
Magic damage: 20/35/50/65/80 (+0.3 AP) Toggle cooldown: 1 second Attack speed reduction: 45/40/35/30/25% Cost: 5 fury per attack
E: Dash 'n Smash
Jervast charges in a direction, dealing physical damage to all enemies hit and slowing them. Enemies are slowed more as fury is gained.
Physical damage: 20/40/60/80/100 (+0.6 total AD) Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds Unaided Slow: 10/15/20/25/30% Maximum Slow: 20/30/40/50/60%
R (Ultimate): Greatest Rage
Jervast reaches the peak of his fury, gaining attack damage and flat movement speed for 8 seconds, as well as causing his abilities to have added effects. Jervast cannot gain or lose fury during Greatest Rage.
Bonus AD: 30/45/60 (+1 for every 4 fury at the start of the ability) Bonus flat Movement Speed: 60/120/180 (Affected by Furious Assault) Cooldown: 110/90/70 seconds Splitter effect: Heals Jervast for 15/30/45% of the damage dealt Ammunition effect: Explosives bounce after firing, effectively increasing attack range by 50/100/150 Dash 'n Smash effect: Can be cast twice in a row, the second hit dealing 60/90/120 (+0.75 total AD)
Playstyle Jervast thrives in the bottom lane, but can go top as well. Jervast prefers to be up close and personal in a fight, his only source of long range damage, Splitter, having a longer cooldown than is practical in a teamfight. Dash 'n Smash can be used to engage a fight, especially under an allied tower, where you will ideally let yourself get pushed. The enemy will be slowed, and so set up for being chunked by Jervast's autoattacks. Use of Ammunition must be sparing, as its magic damage does not affect structures and lowers Jervast's utility with every attack. Splitter can be used as poke in lane and before teamfights, as well as a tool to keep fury from deteriorating. Greatest Rage, ideally, should be used mid-teamfight, as its bonuses are locked as soon as the ability is cast.
Quotes Selection "Trinkets. Trinkets everywhere."
Starting a match "Gah! Why so few trees?" "First thing I see is mine!" "Why does nobody understand stashing?"
Movement "There better be an item over here." "My things are off limits." "Why must this be out in the open?" "What's with this grass?" "So many things, so little space." "You only tell me where things are!" "My goodness! Who left that scrap there!"
Attacking "Mine!" "Give me that!" "Don't even think I won't get that!" "Was it YOU that stole my rubber ball?" "Give it up!" "Nobody touches the stash!" "My things, my rules!"
Jokes "How many things can I grab? How many things will I nab?" "As this grass is tread upon, all those thieves get shot!"
Taunts "My things! MINE!" "Nobody touch it! I nabbed it first!" "I'm angry! Don't make me even MORE angry!" Versus Twitch "Hate to tell you this, but all the things are mine!" "My crossbow! You can't have it!" "Keep the plague! I want the cheese!" Versus Heimerdinger "You have things and I want them!" "Nice turret! Cuz it's mine!" Versus Warwick "You are why I can't have nice things!"
Knock Knock bonus: A knock at Twitch's door. As the Plague Rat stumbles over, a raccoon is visible through the peephole. Twitch greets the newcomer in his special way: he fired seven crossbow bolts at him. In response, the raccoon lobs a knife at Twitch, then charges. The resulting scuffle lasted nearly an hour, and at its end, Twitch's room was in shambles. "What do you want?" Twitch grunted. The raccoon regarded him. "My name is Jervast. I was wondering if you could show me to some trinkets."
