I thought, I'd try to write a critique on the pre season changes.

  • 1 Mountain drake buff changes. I think the buff was just fine. Changing it, because it gives an advantage to coordinated plays would dumb down the game.

  • 2 Drake and Scuttler spawns. Drakes have become more important, because of the dragon soul game, so the herald has been made spawning sooner and was given a respawn to balance top an bot lane priority. I think, ultimately, herald changes can't balance this out. I think one side will always have higher priority this way. Another working solution would be to spawn drakes in both pits until the rift changes. Giving the 2 drakes different elements will also add an element of choice to the rng aspect of the game. In this case the rift should change to the element of the 4th killed drake of the game, at the moment it's killed. Before the rift changes, the same elemental drake won't spawn in the same pit twice. Apart from that, the two pits would be independent of each other.

  • 3 Support Items and Anti poaching. I always thought, duo lanes with 2 support items were very interesting, because they were different. I think removing the possibility for combos like Garen+Yuumi or Taric+Sona would remove really much diversity from the game. Also, removing early game impact from the least played role would have a negative impact on the game, I think. I thought a bit about it and wanted to share my thoughts. I would make Spoils of War give only a fixed amount of gold to the player with the item (like Tribute), but full minion gold to the close ally. Killing a minion, when not having a Spoils of War charge ready, will pause passive gold generation for 15 seconds. So the item won't be abused by adcs. When also keeping Tribute as it was, with a paused effect, after killing a minion, this could replace the Anti poaching changes. Heal and damage from Tribute and Spoils of War gave the items some sort of identity. I would not completely remove them..

  • 4 Energized Items. I thought Stormrazor increasing Energized effects, Rapidfire Cannon increasing charge rate and Static Shiv giving a multi target effect was neat. Maybe I'm wrong but I think keeping the 3 effects and adding 2 more items with Energized would give opportunity for interesting builds. 1 Energized item with lifesteal and 1 with %health-damage stats maybe (They would not necessarily have to also additionally improve Energized effects, I think).

  • 5 Omnistone Keystone. Looks very complicated, especially since not only the player with this keystone has to adapt, but also other players, since there is an icon next to the champions healthbar, showing the actual keystone. Also I thought the main aspect of the Kleptomacy keyrune was its harassing aspect, while having a non-offensive effect, and not the randomness.

  • 6 Presence of Mind. Are you sure, that additional maximum energy is not OP? D:

I hope, what I wrote is not complete nonsense. I really like the patch changes, after I've read them. The elemental changes seem the most exciting and I would not like to have their importance lowered so maybe a 2nd herald could throw itself at a tower.
