So upon finishing my favorite book of all time, I discovered something lacking in LoL

We don't have anything resembling Edmond Dantes from The Count of Monte Cristo. Sure, we have revenge characters: (but really only headcanon/fannon)

But let's focus on the champions whose main theme is revenge:

Now let's focus on the champions with a personal vengeance:

And now let's focus on the champions who don't just want to stop their enemy, not just to kill them, but punish them. Punish them beyond all reasonable limit.

Oh wait, there is none. Kassadin wants revenge on Malz, but if he could get his daughter back, he'd be pretty chill. Lucian prolly ain't gonna get Senna back, but even if she did return, he'd still kill Thresh. Somehow. I don't know. He's ghost..chain...warden...thing? He'd do him in anyway. That's the point.

Edmond Dantes' story is the story to top all revenge stories. He was Lelouch and Light before they made mindgames and obsession cool (for about 5 years). He was the man where money solved everything and preparation was his middle name before Bob Kane's grandfather was born (and hence before Batman). He was a force of inhuman, sadistic revenge before Carrie.

Quite frankly, I really don't see how you could dislike him. not like him? I could buy it. Dislike him? Don't buy it. We have bits and piece of his personality strewn across champions.

Rich and always planning out EVERYTHING? Smooth talker hiding something devious? Every woman hits on him? (For not necessarily romantic reasons?) Is the center of attention no matter where the heck he is? Trudges on despite having been betrayed? Attempts to play God and punish the wicked? Has no thought of the collateral damage of his actions? Learns from a master and becomes the best (that ever was?) Was devoted to his father and seeks justice? Wants to torture evil men for their crimes and is allude to as both God and Satan? And finally, had a perfectly normal life until the fire nation attacked until someone decided to screw it up and blame a crime on him?

We have the pieces. Distill them into a champion that had an idyllic life until men destroyed his hope for happiness. After wallowing in his suffering for several years, nothing remains but a burning vengeance to torture the men who ripped that hope away from him. He successfully defeats each man, ruing their lives altogether but also the lives of those connected to them. through this collateral damage, he learns he is not God. He is not the holy smite ordained to carry out justice. He is simply a crazed murderer. We can stop there since summing up the final character growth without making it sound cheesy is incredibly difficult, and doing that would make him like Trundle 1.0 finished and therefore stagnant.

It doesn't even have to be a new champion. Riot could select a champion who fit the initial criteria of Edmond Dantes, and then have 3 in game champions team up and undermine this one. Then, the Dantes of LoL goes on a revenge spree over the next week or two in a community event. Models can be edited to reflect fights or revenge having been taken, and lore can be updated to include this new plot point (or even just make a new skin for these 3 champions reflecting these if updating the models is too much.) And at the end Dantes receives a skin referencing the conclusion of this plot point in League.

We have a fucking anglerfish-frog-demon-king-swamp-Shrek-monster-thing that is playing the Southern Satan trope (if he doesn't have a Louisianan-style boater, I will be pissed). I'm pretty sure Riot can pull off Edmond Dantes in League.

They at least have a better shot than Squareenix releasing the perfect Kingdom Hearts 3.
