Lore friendly off meta bot lane synergies idea: (Inspired by xayah/rakan)
Hey guys,
I just got stuck on a six hour drive, and while going through about a two hour span with no reception for my pandora, or local music stations that I actually enjoyed I began thinking about the statement of a want for shaking up the meta with some out of the ordinary picks for bot lane being more viable.
While I started by thinking about how we could use some alternatives to adcs, just to freshen things up, I realized that the approach to xayah+rakan being used would be pretty good with many of the lore friendly duos.
This would be great for duoquo buddies who want to have fun in the bot lane while being synergistic but maybe a bit off meta in general, something most people I play with tend to do A lot. When done currently the idea of off meta laners usually falls flat due to scaling with abilities or lowered gold income. With that in mind I thought about how they could receive duo buffs which would also require preemptive coordination and not be immediately monsterous but would adequately reward synergy between players who choose to do these duos.
In order to bring more synergy to keep these lanes on par with normative support+marksman duos, I would put in a system called 'synergies' which would exist between certain champions but only when unlocked through a lower tier mastery, which unlocks a new boot item.
These boots would be usable once on compatible champions, this allows some champions to have synergies with multiple others in the whole game's roster, but also restricts them to one synergy partner per match, thereby eliminating the dangers of "synergy stacking'
a special type of boot makes perfect sense because it requires a minor sacrifice, and also will always be an achievable item to reach.
here's how this would work
There would be one mastery in each of the rune trees, which unlocks the boot item, this would be your first sacrifice.
Once you purchase boots, you would have available to you the "Treads of kinship" tiers 1,2,3,4, and 5. each upgrade would cost roughly 500 gold totaling at 2700 gold and a rune slot, as well as the passive of the boots you would normally get.
when a tier of boots is gained you would grant a singular benefit to your lane mate when casting the selected spell (Think in terms of the upgrades available to
) these effects would be based on lore and aimed at bridging the kits of the two champions in order to acheive a synergy of high caliber, but again at the general expense of losing an actual support or an actual marksman in place of something... weird.
So I got to brainstorming and I think I came up with a system that helps to keep things in line, meanwhile said system would also be self balanced by inherrent lowered gold and experience from the 'outsider laner':
Here are a list of champions that could have cool synergies, which would be picked by each champion on a boot upgrade.
The royal couple
Passive: Slow stacks with Tryn's W slow while both are active
Q: Attacks during Q decrease tryn's E as if it were him critically striking
W refreshes the duration of tryn's W on target's hit
E When cast through tryn, grants movement speed
R Grants Tryn bonus attack speed
Passive: Increased movement speed when near his beloved, increases based on rage bar
Q: When he heals himself ashe is also healed for 50%
W: Increases affected target's damage taken from ashe
E: Applies Frost shot
R: Can be 'self cast' (Alt+R by default) to be applied to ashe instead.
Balance point: Tryn is poor af.
The Lawdogs
Passive: Every headshot grants vi a stack towards her W
Q: Creates a trail in which vi moves faster
W: Enemies stepping in traps refresh a stack of Vi's E
E: Extends the duration of the stun of vi's Q on the target while the slow is active
R: Vi can ult this target
Passive:
Q: If this lands, cait's next Q will slow the target if it hits when the target is stunned
W: when fully proc'd cait gets a free headshot
E: When target damages Cait, a percentage is given to Vi instead for a few seconds after this hits
R: Knocks aside enemies in the path to target cast (See the cait R passive)
Passive: Grants Darius 50% of bonus gold from stacks of adoration
Q: Darius can also catch the axes, refreshing them and gaining a movespeed buff
W: Refreshes Darius bleed stacks on target while active
E: Lowers the Cooldown of Darius's pull by 1 second per target hit
R: Grants darius a good movespeed buff while in it's trail
Passive: All Kills are attributed to draven if he would otherwise get an assist
Q: Heals draven for an amount equal to 20%x the number of blood stacks of the amount darius is healed for
W: Reduces the cooldown of draven's W by 1 second
E: Grants draven armor pen equal to 5% per stack of darius's armor shred from this passive
R: Grant draven 10 stacks of adoration due to him stealing all the glory from the kill,

Passive: Garen's abilities can proc your passive
Q: Extends the duration of any silence from Garen's Q
W: Increases Garen's movespeed while he's affected by this
E: Reduces the cooldown of Garen's Spin
R: Garen's ult refreshed by same mechanic
Garen: Passive: Lux heals as if affected by your passive if your passive is silenced by damage, if she takes damage it is shut off on her as well Q: Extends the duration of lux's snare W: While active garen takes 25% of the damage that lux would be dealt E: When the armor shred is active, lux deals increased damge R: Lux gains bonus damage against villains.

Passive: Every two graves autos count as a TF auto for the purposes of procing his E (Only tf can deliver the actual proc though)
Q: Reduces the cooldown of TF's Q by 1 second per enemy champ hit
W: Enemies in the smoke bomb take additional damage
E: Grants TF 50% of the armor bonus
R: (Help?)

Passive: Graves gets bonus gold as well Q: Reduces graves dash duration by 1 second per champion hit W: Graves gains bonus movespeed on yellow card, regens mana on blue card, and takes reduced damage from targets of red card E: Reduces target's armor for purposes of graves R: Graves can click to come with
I don't actually wanna do this bc cancer but i'm willing if you want to hear it
Ok guys I put a lot of time into this, please just give some feedback, if the abilities need to be reworked I get that but I think the core of the concept is pretty strong, what do you think?

Sivir: Casting E also puts a spell block shield on azir when nearby
Azir: Also gain attack speed if under the effect of Sivir R movement speed

Jayce: Do more damage if Ez W is on him

Illaoi: Tentacle spawns on a wall near GP ult if Illaoi is inside it
Gangplank: Eating an orange near an Illaoi that’s stunned etc. frees her
