Aatrox Rework - My ideas on how to improve it
Deathbringer Stance:
- Lower cooldown to 12 seconds
- Lower damage to 4-8% of target's maximum health
- CHANGED: Deathbringer Stance's cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds when Aatrox casts an ability
or hits a champion with the edge of The Darkin Blade.- NEW: Landing The Darkin Blade (Q)s "Sweet Spot" on a champion resets Deathbringer Stance's cooldown.
Goal: Make Auto-attacking between Qs more encouraged and improve Aatrox's synergy with Titanic Hydra.
**Note:** Since Aatrox's Q is so slow, the window between every Q should be used for landing Deathbringer Stance. This will make his dueling feel more satisfying.
The Darkin Blade (Q):
- NEW: You can now choose to shorten the distance of The Darkin Blade's first 2 casts depending on where you aim the spell, so that the sweet spot are closer to Aatrox, in case there is a champion in melee range of Aatrox.
Note: If someone gets too close to Aatrox, his first two Q casts are practically useless, so now if you point your cursor in front of Aatrox that's where the sweet spot will be instead.
Infernal Chains (W): Change projectile into something more similar to Aatrox's old E: Aatrox unleashes two converging energy waves towards the target area. If an enemy champion or large monster is hit where the two "projectiles" meet/come together, the target gets chained to the impact area and become grounded while inside the area of effect. If the chained enemy is still in the impact area after 1.5 seconds, they are dragged to the center and take the same damage again.
Note: Can be cast for a shorter distance as well. Minions no longer absorb the spell.
Goal: Make Aatrox feel a little bit more like his former self.
Umbral Dash (E):
- E is now an auto reset (like Graves's E).
Note: Now you can also use your E for auto-attack resetting, instead of just using it to hit your Q, which gives you more choices.
Goal: Give Aatrox more options and higher skill ceiling.
World Ender (R):
- NEW: If Aatrox doesn't revive during World Ender, he regenerates 50% of his maximum health over 3.25 seconds, after World Ender's duration has ended instead, but does not become untargetable, pacified or slowed.
Note: If Aatrox doesn't revive during his ultimate it feels pretty empty, it's almost as if you want to die during World Ender, so that you can revive. So now you get rewarded for surviving during Aatrox's ultimate.
Unrelated Note: Oops, I accidentally attached a link of Aatrox's picture on the board, and I can't seem to remove it, sorry...
