Baku, the Dreamwalker
#Baku, the Dreamwalker
Race: Dreamling (same as Nocturne)
Gender: Dreamlings don't have gender's. They adapt to people's imagination. (That's why Nocturne looks so scary)
Role: Support, Mage?
Resource: Mana
Attack Range: 600 (throws little balls of blue light)
Appearance:
- Imagine Nocturne.
- Imagine Nocturne as kid, less bulky, less scary, a little chibby, cute guy that laughs and plays pranks and is just sort of a spirit that likes to visit dreams.
- Turn his colors bright. Make him a not-nightmare.
- Give him a nature aspect: Instead of those black engravings he's got fur, like a fawn, but he's blue and glowing. He's a 'spirit' after all.
- Give him fawn ears and large antlers, even though he's young.
- He has no armor. Only a vest. It's green and long and flatters about where his belly ends. It's collar is this whitish wool with lots of different light colors. Pink, light blue, light yellow, light green, all barely visible.
- Above the collar he has this ... glass circle around his neck. It's just an accessory.
- He's gives off this faint blue aura around him, and the white spots in his fur glow so bright, you can only barely see through them.
- He has the same tattoo's as Nocturne does under his eyes. They glow in a rich, deep blue.
- His eyes, antlers and clothes are more substantial.
- He walks around just like Nocturne, but less aggressive and somewhat childish and playful, twisting about in the air and dashing around.
- He let's his arms hang behind instead of holding them like Nocturne does.
- He has no weapons.
- He has a longer 'tail'.
- Add a bunch of details and colors and ornaments and ...
- Volià! You've got yourself a Baku :D
( I drew a picture of his head, but it's black and white and looks really awfully as a photograph. So you can just ignore it if you want to)
http://i.imgur.com/VqwGbo4.jpg?1
He's more childish than he is here. He's joyful and likes to play pranks and what-not ^^
(Sorry for the bad quality)

** Kit **: (w/o numbers)
Passive - Lucid:
Baku and his Tag-on-ee may ignore unit collision.
Every few seconds, Baku's next Ability has increased utility.
This amount can be affected by Cooldown Reduction.
Q - Ripple:
Baku sends out a Rainbow Fish - spirit to a target allied champion, which grants the target a short Movement Speed burst and bonus damage on their next three basic attacks.
On the way to the target the Rainbow Fish leaves behind Dream Stream. Once hit, the target leaves behind Dream Stream for 6 seconds as well (The Rainbow Fish orbits the target for the duration).
While on the Dream Stream allied champions gain bonus Movement Speed. The target hit is automatically on the Dream Stream.
|Tag-on : The target and Baku gain a small shield.
|Lucid : Ripple gains increased cast range and travel speed.
W - Nightmare:
Baku sends out a Nightmare in a line. Enemies in it's path receive magic damage and flee in terror for a short duration.
|Tag-on : The Tag-on-ee gains bonus Attack Speed for a short duration for every enemy champion hit.
|Lucid: Baku sends out 3 Nightmares in a cone-like direction instead.
E - Blanket! :
Baku convers himself in a bubble of Dream Stream which absorbs magic damage and prevents disables while the shield holds.
|Tag-on : The Tag-on-ee gains the shield as well and the cooldown of Lucid is reduced.
|Lucid : The duration of Blanket! is increased and it is stronger.
R - Tag-on:
Toggle: Baku tags on to an allied champion for a few seconds.
While tagged-on Baku can only use abilites and certain Summoner Spells and items.
He and the tag-on-ee also gain bonus Armor and Magic Resistance. Baku absorbs a percentage of the damage the Tag-on-ee would have received.
Baku himself is not target-able while he tags on to allied champions.
|Lucid : Tag-on gains increased cast range and travel speed.
Baku can also tag-on to enemy champions, possessing the target for a short duration and controlling its movement. Baku does not receive the damage allies deal to the target. However, after possessing the target both Baku and the target receive increased damage and the cooldown of Tag-on is massively increased.
Toggle Off: Baku leaps off the target, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies where he lands.
Kit Discussion
Baku is a Support. That much should be fairly obvious ^^
He holds a whole lot of utility for his team: (lemme' count that fo' u)
- Bonus Armor and Magic Resistance for the tag-on-ee.
- Ignored unit collision for the tag-on-ee.
- Movement Speed burst (similar to Zilean) for a single target (the engages O_O').
- 3 times bonus physical damage on-hit (similar to nami, but better for Lifesteal and Crits).
- Mediocre Movement Speed for EVERYBODY :D
- Small shield.
- An AoE Terror.
- An AoE slow.
- And lastly: A friggin' Morgana-like Spellshield for a single target (OMG).
^That's what I call Utility.

^You guys can all go retire (shame on you!)
However this overworldly Utility does come at a cost:
Range:
Baku's Q, W and R have ridiculously low range, which is why he needs to use his passive as effectively as possible, or latch on to a melee champion to get near his enemies.
To balance his efficiency in lane, though, he does have a long attack range. That way he can still poke a little with his Q to proc Spellthief's Edge and what-not.
Damage:
Baku's only long-range damage sources is his Q's auto-attack enhancement. His W and R have very low range and put the squishy support in harm's way.
Overall he has very little damage, can hardly duel and is extremely team reliant. Therefor he might be unpopular in solo-Q.
Tankiness:
Baku has high base Health, but low Armor. Additionally he gains no Armor or Magic Resistance per level.
That's why he is extremely squishy if he doesn't tag on to an ally. And even then, the bonus Armor and Magic Resistance he receives is largely dependent on the tag-on-ee's Resistances. He only really gets tanky if he tags on to a tank.
Overall Role:
Baku is a team-reliant Support that can change the tides of battle through mobility management.
He supports engages through Movement Speed bursts and Spellshields, allowing tanks to be literally unstoppable all the while nullifying the possibility of disengages or counter engages.
Once in the midst of the enemy team he can cause great disorder by fearing and slowing multiple targets at once and suppressing the MVP of the enemy team.
For example, he can make the enemy Carry walk right into your team, or make the enemy Tank walk right out of the teamfight, leaving the whole enemy team defenseless instead.
Once led away, he can fear the tank once more to give his team the largest possible window of opportunity.
You could actually, therefor, compare Baku to a shepherd, or a puppeteer.
Synergy:
Works well with:
When playing aggressive, overall Baku works well with highly mobile Marksmen, such as...
Corki - If you have vision on the enemy Jungler, Baku can use his Tag-on and Corki's Valkyrie to get up close to enemy champions. Then, by fearing and slowing the enemies, Baku can make sure that Corki gets off as much damage as possible. As disengage you can then use Blanket! and Ripple instead of needing Valkyrie.
Draven - Draven's low range but high mobility make him the ideal partner for Baku. Baku can speed him up to get him near the enemies, all the while increasing his next basic attacks to give him as much damage as possible. Afterwards, Baku can Tag-on to him, use Blanket! and with the reset Lucid get a triple Nightmare off.
Graves - Just like Draven, Graves works well with Baku. A simpler tactic being, when Lucid is almost off cooldown, Baku can tag on to him. He dashes in-front of the enemies and Baku sends out an immediate triple Nightmare, maximizing the damage Graves can get off.
Nocturne - This is just a honorable mention, because if Baku tags on to Nocturne and Nocturne ults he travels with Nocturne as well. The same trick works on Malphite, and Shen and others.
Struggles against:
Morgana: With Blanket!'s high cooldown, Baku cannot afford using it to poke safely against the longer ranged Morgana. And she, as another spellshield carrier, can easily nullify his CC and render his engage useless. Actually, if Baku tries to engage on Morgana he just walks into her Soul Shackles and gives her a free kill. Additionally, Baku doesn't have enough magic damage in his kit to break Morgana's spellshield. His Q does physical damage.
Vel' Koz: Baku struggles against Vel' Koz's higher range and damage. If he tries to poke he'll just get a spell to his face. He would have to stick to minions to be avoid poke, but there he could be attacked by Marksmen (he has no Armor!) and he also loses brush control. He can't tag on to an ally 24/7 because he needs to preserve the spell for when he needs it. Overall Vel' Koz has the upper hand.
Caitlyn: For the same reasons as every other champion: her range. Baku would have to stay out of her range at all times or risk receiving a ton of damage. The only advantage Baku would have over her, is that when he tags on to an ally her ult loses its target. Other than that: GG WP; Surr@20.
Lore
"Us - Dreamling? This world ... you sleep! Why not wake? Why not fly?"
- Baku to Ezreal.
Ezreal's report : Baku is a Dreamling. A race of 'spirits' that live in a parallel world to ours. Baku explained it as multiple flying islands, connected by a 'Dream Stream'. Apparently, each island shows a person's dreams. The Dreamlings wander about and mess with them, play tricks, play games together and even manipulate the dreams a bit.
I asked him why he left. He replied:
"Brother mine. He not strong, but he good friend. His friend, lost. I here. I help friend."
I asked him what his friend looked like and he frowned. Apparently they constantly shape-shift because of the influence of our thoughts, and only the strong can keep one appearance for a longer duration.
"I very strong", he likes to boast.
After asking him if Dreamlings create Nightmares he answered:
"Is weird, not simple. Balance in chaos. You and me, we both create."
(He elaborated after seeing my frown, using rapid hand gestures)
"Dreams, like space. You like cage. Dream Stream - color, all color. We take stream and pick a color. We put color in cage. I very strong. I carry lots of color. Cage might hold, might not. But careful, some colors hot, very. They hurt, corrupt. And some cages, dark cages - rare this - they close behind you and lock. I very strong. I break free. Others ... not so strong. Cage, then gives strength. Sad."
I asked him if his friend got stuck in a dark cage and he nodded.
Lastly, I let him give me a sample of his 'Dream Stream' in a bottle. He told me I have to shake it forever or it would turn to air. Interesting.
After inspecting it I found out that it has similar properties to our mana. Maybe people's magic flows out in their dreams and creates the Dreamling's world? It's only a hypothesis. I'll have to do more tests.
I sent out word to other scholars and friends. They should contact me if they find another Dreamling. Until then Baku will be staying here with me in the League. Apparently he loves fighting. He's a trickster, after all.
Weirdly, he also likes to cling to my head and tousle through my hair.
And he creates animals out of 'Dream Stream' and sends them on rampages through my room, which is a bit annoying (though they aren't always accurate. Bunnies with wings and Lions with snakes as tails, for example).
Strange beings, those Dreamlings.

**Skins **
Deepsea Baku
- His antlers are corals
- His Ripple sends out a lantern fish instead of a Rainbow Fish
- His color isn't blue, but green.
- Instead of Nightmares he sends Night-seahorses xD
Nightmare Baku
- He'd have red yes and would be black.
- He'd send a Piranha.
- He would look similar to Nocturne.
- He'd have an armor.
Spooky Baku
- For Halloween
- He'd be white and look like Casper
- He'd send out a Candy Corn fish instead
- His Nightmares would be headless.
Clown Baku
- His face would be painted like a clown, and instead of antlers he'd have a rainbow afro.
- He'd have polka dots all over his body.
- He'd send out a balloon-animal instead of a Rainbow Fish.
- His Nightmares would be white and wear tutus and have those feather helmets on.
#DOOM
- He always has the Lucid passive.
- Every once in a while he would randomly send out Nightmares in random directions, but with doubled range.
- Allied champions could also get this as passive.
- When he uses Ripple he sends out Rainbow Fish to all nearby allies.
- When he uses Nightmare he send out Nightmares in a circle around him.
- His R would have a ridiculously low cooldown on enemies, that way he can posses you once every fight at least.
- When he uses the third cast of his R he creates eight extra craters around the initial crater (similar to Veigar's Dark Matter)
The only way you could defeat him is if there was no ally nearby. Then his Q would be useless and he couldn't flee with his R.
#That's all!
Personally I think he'd be a new, interesting addition to the League with the Tag-on system and possession.
Please, tell me what you think.
Thanks for reading. I do hope you liked him,
Jack.
P.s. : After posting I'll look for spelling and grammar mistakes and what-not, so the post might change a little bit here and there.
