Consider yourselves appropriately informed!

The September contest will start early this Monday morning (9/1/14). Full details will also be given out then. Meanwhile though here's the basic stuff.

#Winnings

No RP this time fellas, sorry!

Winners of this contest will be the Top 5 entries. These concepts will be highlighted and cataloged into a future Hall of Fame post.

The top winner will be able to choose (within reason of course) the next Bonus Category for next month's contest.

I will always be looking for non-physical things I can throw at these contests for prizes such as Art, Animations and Accolades, but I'm not there just yet. But the show must go on!

#Score Categories

Entries will be scored on five categories

  • Lore
  • Kit
  • Originality
  • Effort (Previously "Extras")
  • Doom Mode (Previously Skin Ideas)

The last mode is the bonus category that will change from month to month

#Schedule

9/1 to 9/8 : Entries will be taken

9/8 to 9/22 : Entries will be judged by a volunteer mystery panel of your peers

9/24 : Results will be announced

I'm still looking for volunteers for judges! I have open slots for 3 more, so if you would like to give it a go send me an e-mail at "[email protected]" and I'll give you the next steps.

#Please note that this it is NOT yet time to enter, do not post entries here. You have plenty of time still, don't worry.

But feel free to ask questions and give feedback, these contests are still very much a WIP in many areas.

I might be interested in judging some concepts...

Although I must mention here that having doom mode as a bonus category is quite frankly a dumb idea.

There is a reason why so few champions were part of the doom mode is that is because in order for the doom bots to not be completely absurdly unbeatable their attacks all had to have pretty big telegraph to them. For example Lux ' ultimate while crazy gives you have a second to dodge with it's charge up time. Makes for a cool doom ability.

But someone like poppy? I guess you could do something with her passive or ultimate? Maybe her dash knockback? But it won't be the same as lux because the attacks cannot be telegraphed and they are all pretty much point and click abilities. ..

Tldr: different style kits fit better into doom mode and it is a shame that doom mode is a judging category because it limits how you can design a kit.

Im interested in Doom Mode as well :D

Im stuck between wanting to be a judge and wanting to be a contestant, i do have this dual Ribbon Dagger user that i would like to put out there XD

I have a few questions.

  1. How do we submit our concepts?
  2. Will we be allowed to see other peoples concepts? (not only top 5) This is great i've always wanted to share my champion concept! :)

Although it might be alot of work, it would be nice for a recap of our champion concept scores to get posted on the concept's page.

And which, if any, of the score categories counts for the most?

ok i know the question has been basically asked (no previous concepts) but can you, say, take an old concept of yours and improve on the skills/lore and the rest to make it a similar champion, but also somewhat different? or would this still count on using the same champion?

Can we set up the concept the day before then submit it? The one I want to submit is going to be a real pain to set up to make it look like it doesn't take 3 pages.

Two questions:

  • How important is art? Have a concept I'd really like to share, but I'm not very good at drawing. :/

  • Does the kit need numbers, or just some kind of estimation (since it's pretty much impossible to balance a concept)?
