Champion Concept: Rourke, the Augur of Apocalypse
#Rourke, the Augur of Apocalypse
Independent/ Bandle City Marksman/ Tank
Design Philosophy Rourke is a situationally tanky ranged jungler who uses the remains of his targets to create stockpiles of armor and ammunition. He can stash these around the map for later use when he needs a boost. When Rourke really wants to hunker down and weather out a storm he can create a temporary bunker. He is extremely good at preparing for trouble. This is what he primarily relies on, without a substantial plan to fall back on the only option left is fighting his way out of trouble, which is not forgiving. Fortunately he knows how to handle sudden danger well since he is always on edge, and ready to defend himself but Rourke is not the best at getting attacked completely without warning if he is caught with nothing, but if given the chance any danger is rendered a minor annoyance. Rourke is a scrappy fighter, and he excels at disengaging and getting out of trouble. His Q can knock enemies back in a pinch, but it needs a wind up which can be reduced by E. His W can stun targets near walls, or it can take out enemy made terrain. Rourke is a single target hunter. Once he sets his sights on what he wants, he focuses hard to take them out. When he is not hunting for supplies, he is shines as a survivalist: meant to be hardy and very hard to take out if you leave him alone and let him set up. He can pull allies in to help with E can keep up continuous damage to small groups with it as well. His gank strategy is unconventional, instead of jumping on an enemy, Rourke can knock them towards a wall and try to get the stun with W for a teammate to follow up. He's a tank but only situationally, his passive and ult give him windows of moderate and strong tankiness respectively. Given the time to set up and prepare he can take a lot of damage while still dealing tons do damage.
AA: 525 unit Single wind up side arm rock slings
#Ability Overview
Passive - Scavenge:
Every time Rourke kills a champion, large monster or large minion, the units drops some materials that he can make into a Stockpile to stash in a bush or bunker or consume immediately. Clicking the Stockpile will allow Rourke to "carry" the Stockpile, subsequently clicking on a bush will stash the Stockpile. Walking over a Stockpile will consume it. Stashed Stockpiles last 5 minutes, 3 enemy champion AAs destroy them. Stockpiles grant bonus 10 Armor and AD for 5 sec when consumed. The bonus buff strength can stack 3 times. His basic attack windup is reduced by 0.25% per 1% bonus AS rather than the normal 1%, but AS increases ability missile speed and DoT tick rate by 50%.
Q - Bull's-eye: range - 950
Rourke winds up his sling, channeling for 2.5 sec. After the channel he releases it in the direction he's facing dealing damage and knocking the first target back 100/150/200/250/300 units.
W - Barrier Breaker: range - 850
He quickly shoots a stone, if he hits a wall it causes a rock slide in a 300 unit 100 degree cone perpendicular to the wall stunning and dealing AoE damage. If it hits an enemy shield or champion made terrain it reduces the duration of the ability by 5/10/15/20/25%. Resets his AA. Passive: Survivalist Vitality Heal and health regen buffs' strength is increased by 10/15/20/25/30%. He gains 10% MS in sight of Bunkers. Stockpiles and Bunkers last 1/2/3/4/5% longer.
E - Sling Swing: range - 325
First cast: he begins swinging the sling over his head granting MS. If an ally clicks on him they will catch the sling when within range. He will swing them around 1/1/2/2/3 times moving with reduced MS, until the ally gives a move command throwing them in 400 units the direction they are headed. Does not decrease ally MS, or deactivate allied MS granting abilities. Second Cast: he tosses a stone into the swinging sling and continues to swing it over his head for 5 sec or until recast to deal DoT (= to AS x AD) to all targets between 275 and 325 units. While active, E reduces Bull's Eye channel by 50% .
R - Makeshift Bunker range - 200 units
Passive: Bonus Armor buffs and shields grant Rourke 20% increased health regen for the duration. Active: He channels for 3 sec (- # of Stockpile active Stacks) creating a 200 unit radius Bunker. Once complete the Bunker becomes impassible terrain to enemies and allies. It has 400/625/850 health (+ 45% AD). Stockpiles can be stashed inside increasing its health by 10 up to 30 hp. Inside the Bunker he can freely move; AA with 700 unit bonus range; and cast abilities. Bunkers taunt monsters within 200 units which deal 200% bonus damage to Bunkers, until attacked by a champion. 2 Bunkers can be placed on the map at any time, and last 10 minutes with a 3rd destroying the oldest one. Bunkers cannot be placed within 1000 units of each other.
#Lore Rourke was once a scientist, explorer, and historian. He made many valuable contributions to society through these avenues. As a well respected leader in these fields in Bandle City he has always believed that his words carried a certain amount of weight. He had come to think that as long as he provided enough evidence, what ever he discovered would be accepted.
However he knows now that this, unfortunately, is not always the case. When society is faced with an inconvenient truth, no one wants to accept it, but Rourke must, for he was the one to find it. And this is a grim fact of truth that he carries with him, no matter what he tries to disprove its validity.
In his long travels and logging of history, Rourke had discovered patterns. This of course, is not much of a surprise. Everyone knows that in some form or fashion history always repeats its self. This is not the problem, it is the part of the pattern trend that the present that Rourke can see is currently playing out and the section that is due to come next. Every ancient society Rourke has found or read of that has existed has never been able to continue on, as it begins to reach its peak it advances quickly before slowing down and collapsing to natural disaster, war, or anarchy. Something always stops society from reaching its pinnacle, it collapses and the pattern starts over again. As far as he could tell it had happened eight times, the ninth would soon be upon them.
He called it Omega Society Termination.
With Runeterra's quickly advancing in technology breakthroughs, he has seen enough evidence to make him fear that Runeterra might be reaching the end of the pattern again soon. He believed that society has become too dependent on technology and at some point it will come crashing down on them. He had to get society to realize this and slow down, the pattern had to be broken. Rourke has made it his mission to prove that you can live anywhere with minimal materials, as he continues to search for and gather information on Runeterra's impending collapses of society that he believes to be not so far in the future, and the causes of it. This is to prove his claims, and Rourke is getting himself ready to survive the coming disaster.
But to his dismay, no one believed him no matter how much evidence he provided. City officials of all regions denounced him and his work as the scribblings a of a mad man, a doomsayer, not a Yordle trying to save society, but one that said it would end. At this Rourke balked, and became spiteful, if no one would listen he would save himself.
Rourke began to prepare. He only cared about getting himself safe, fed and supplied to survive another day, he doesn't care about any one else since no one else believed him. It was pointless to try to save people who didn't want to be saved, people who wouldn't accept the truth.
He knows the disaster is coming, it's only a matter of time, but he'll be ready.
"He was once a great Yordle and a great friend, but it seems his misanalysis of his research may have rendered him delusional. To renounce technology? Preposterous!" - Heimerdinger
#Survivalist Log Day 147 Secured a food source that will last a while, have separated it into smaller stockpiles and stashed them around the territory. Bandle City has exiled me, but the forest along the city border is plentiful. I will have much to fill my bunker with.
Day 149 Every day I wake up and wonder how many days are left, how many before my wonderful former city is destroyed. I do not know when, I just know that it will eventually come. I had all the credibility in the world as a well educated historian. History always repeats its self, this is no different, it will happen. This time someone will be ready, I have prepared to weather the coming storm of O.S.T. I will live to tell the tale, alone if I have to.
Day 152 It pains me every day that no one will believe my story. I know it hard to accept. I can barely believe it my self. But facts are facts, I know the evidence. Society has always destroyed itself in the past. Society is advancing too quickly to sustain itself once again. It is they that renounce it. It is only a matter of time before Omega Society Termination is upon us, and they will rue the day. This time I think I will be war and anarchy that society falls to.
Day 163 The Rakkor have it right, but for the wrong reason. We will all be dead from a catastrophe much nearer in time than the death of our sun; that will be the end of Runeterra as a whole not just civilization. They believe the world will end, but they may not believe my scientific explanation. Yet I feel that I must gather enough supplies to make the journey to Mount Targon. The people there are the only ones even remotely prepared to be able to survive the coming end, and there is little else for me here. There I will weather out the coming storm.
Day 170 I have discovered, or rather rediscovered an amazing yet simple means of obtaining larger game in the forest. The stone sling is the great ignored and underrated weapon. Yet it's the most durable and dependable of them all and very effective. I have even learned break other rocks if my own projectile is hard enough. It does take time to procure the best ammunition, but stones are aplenty in the wilderness, and before soon all of Runeterra will be wilderness.
#Quotes: This will be useful Might as well use that I'll stash that for latter Packing up, moving out Aim carefully Every shot counts The Kindred will be visiting many of Runterra if nothing is done One day there will be a reckoning Deaths date will be due If no one will believe me then I will save no one I tried to fight fair I gave them their a chance I guess everyone else wants to die You can't prepare if you don't know what's coming I know it's coming Omega Society Termination is coming You don't know the definition of collateral damage The jaws of Kindred draw closer with every day I'm trying to save a lot of good people We are not all going to make it Even if I'm the only one, I will survive Survival is not pretty Nothing left here I need more armor Technology may have helped us but it will be the end of us Everyone's on a clock now This is mine now Keep moving The pattern never ends, the scene just changes There is more to be done I'll make them see I tried to change the future, I should have known that it would be inevitable

#Tips Early game can be tough when your pattern is not set up yet Neither his Stockpiles or is Bunkers grant sight, so if you want them protected you need to pair them with a ward. Don't stash all your Stockpiles in one spot, spread them out While you being in your Bunker is a strong buff you need to know when it is the best time to bail Correctly placed even if your Bunker is on its last legs, you can take your Stockpiles and run, it will remain terrain to block enemies from chasing you until it's destroyed Use your E to reduce Qs channel if you need a quicker cast, but don't waste abilities if you don't need to E is good at taking out more stationary targets that clump together, and it allows Rourke to attack and stay on the move. If an enemy is trying to block your escape or entrance to a fight, knock them out of the way with Q, or take their terrain out faster with W Don't always consume Stockpiles the moment you get them, stash them around the jungle for later This guy is all about planning and being prepared, a good Rourke player will always have a correctly placed Stockpile near by in case a need arises If you are afraid of getting ganked try to always have one stack of Stockpile, it will reduce R's channel Monsters deal more damage to your Bunkers and will attack them if in range, so you won't be tanking any camps from the safety of your bunker Careless Bunker placement will get it destroyed very quickly. He benefits a lot from allied baits.
Tips He can get pretty tanky but only in the right situations Try to find his windows where he has to rely more on poke, if he is using abilities more and not coming in range as much to basic attack this means that he doesn't have any Stockpiles near Look for these windows when he is not tanky Don't leave him to his own devices, if you do he will set up endless armor boosts around his jungle and two bunkers to boot Look out for stashed Stockpiles in bushes, destroy them as soon as possible Watch out for him when you attack his stockpiles he could be waiting in a Bunker His CC is not very reliable in lane, but it is very dangerous in the jungle Check his surrounding before going all in against him, he may have a Stockpile or Bunker hidden near by His dueling power is very weak without a Stockpile or Bunker near by, but he is very hard to take down if he can get to one. Watch out if he has 3 Stockpile stacks, it will be very hard to take him down, and it will allow him to cast Bunker very quickly He has long CDs, once he has used his poke abilities up he must rely on his closer range basic attacks, this is you chance if he hasn't set up any thing
