They need to VGU her before they start selling merch for her. She's one of those champs that makes no sense at all with her wardrobe and her position in Piltover.

This is not so. This is a video game and a fantastic setting, each of these tend to have themselves make choices for the sake of their design, to sell aesthetics, to convey feelings, etc. "Makes no sense" for whatever is something that can be applied to like 95% of the cast in this game as well as others.

Edit: They also make merch based on her already.

Piltover, on that note is defined by sophistication, class, with a tinge of steampunk. This is notable in Camille, Jayce, and Vi, with Caitlyn looking incredibly out of sorts. Caitlyn is supposed to be an officer of the law in Piltover - she needs to look the part. The whole "I have more belts than Deadpool driving a minivan through a buckle factory" is terribly dated, and the miniskirt just isn't logically fitting for someone who needs to exude class while also chasing criminals through the streets. You can't very well be dignified if you're kicking in a door to an illegal explosives lab and broadcasting your panties to the entire room, can you?

Okay and what does that have to do either the OP or the complaint?

That does not mean anything to the OP. OP wants a fancy hat and there's nothing wrong with that. Specifically, that fancy hat, the unreworked fancy hat because it is cool.

You say they are making things more samey based on region. Even if so, that has nothing to do with the "sense" you were talking about, and the "isn't logically fitting" is even worse because that applies to everything, the entire game.

You know what isn't logically fitting? Knife feet.

The idea that the most elegant and elite cyborg agent without any piltover cues would be made more refined and efficient by people who have the level to implement cybernetic technology yet also somehow lack the ability to understand how legs work. That isn't very fitting logically nor does it make sense

The thing is that even if this is a fantasy game, Riots world building team is creating an inner logic in their world.

And Riot themselves stated that Caitlyn just doesn't fit into the picture of modern League of Legends anymore, her outfit is contradicting the inner logic of Piltover they have built up over time.

They stated that they definitely want to rework Caitlyns visuals in the future to something that represents her "serious cop trope" better than some chick in a miniskirt.

And it's been pretty contradictory, hasn't it. We even been having retcons of retcons and this isn't even a superhero comic.

"And Riot themselves stated" Riot's said a lot of things. One might notice that Riot's been wrong about a lot of things as well. Even if they weren't, "Riot said so" isn't a quality argument for something's quality.

The question still remains: What the hell is wrong with the OP liking the hat?

Nothing wrong with him liking it and I am not against getting it in the merch shop.

I would actually love to buy this hat as merchandise from them. But I have to agree that it is unlikely that this is going to happen before she had her rework. Riot wants to rework Caitlyns looks in the hopefully not too far future and they probably won't give us something like that before this is done.

Still possible, tho, since her top hat is a defining feature and will definitely stay in some form even after her rework. So as long as they keep the design kinda the same, it would be possible.

Same. I wrote before cutting it that the hat is going to make it through any future rework.

But it's not unlikely to happen in that regard as there is already merchandise out in her current design.

I actually can't agree more. I would imagine something like this.....but with a cape/cloak.......I don't know why, but she's a character that could really pull one off.

Her kit could use some polish. Especially the ultimate, it doesn't have the umph anymore, and imo, her Q feels a bit bland.

I'd compromise and say something like a Trundle or Sejuani-tier VU.

Lot of new looks, maybe a changed skill or two but largely the same.

I dunno, I rather like her ultimate compared to the rest of the kit. A long-rage sniper shot. She lines it up, aims, and fires. Allies can take the bullet as counterplay.

What else can fit a sniper though? Maybe a charge shot and they only show the target when she fires? Maybe she digs a trench and then has super increased range for a few seconds? Or maybe she digs in and her Q has a super low cooldown and no delay (less sniper, more infantry?).

I don't know, I'm just spitballing. I always thought her ult was the better part of her kit, to be honest. The traps and the net seem kinda there in comparison.

Maybe she could mirror Jinx a bit as well as reflect a cop more by having a pistol for one of her skills? I'm not entirely sure.

I think her ultimate is fun, it just needs polish. It's just flat damage, and doesn't have the much of an impact, unless you happen to see a really weak, unguarded enemy. It needs some incentive to use, in my opinion, and something to give it a bit more sting.

Maybe allow it to charge? You can hold it for up to X many seconds and increase its damage? Duration required to reach max damage reduced by crit chance?

That could definitely be fun, and add to the "RNG" of it, since enemies won't be able to exactly judge when you'll release the shot, which leads to mind games when other are blocking the shot.

Adding an execution indicator might be nice, since it's a targeted ability and she is supposed to be a sniper and they're all about staying calm, calculating, etc based on what I've heard.

Nah, her ultimate is fine fox execute or poke and it would be hard to change Cait gameplay to fit more the sniper theme without making her a Jhin 2.0 imo.

Not saying that her kit is the pinnacle of design, but is not that bad to need an update.
