Idea for Ashe's E passive

I think most people consider Ashe E pretty useless and max it last so I thought how to improve it and what would match Ashe in terms of her playstyle. More dmg? No... Give extra gold again? No. Then I thought what her E active does and I come up with this: Ashe would have increased range of vision for every rank of E. It would fit with her archer abilities and eagle eye and make her laning phase a little easier (agains ganks) since she has no dash or mobility. Of course she still wouldn't see champs in bush (maybe with max E but it's too op) and a little more time to react to jungler is always nice. It wouldn't make her OP all of a sudden but it could be a nice touch. What do you guys think?

Interesting, she is a ranger, so giving her a passive "scouting" ability would be interesting. I think the problem with this idea is that it wouldn't be enough to suddenly convince players to even consider changing their leveling order, so it will still be last.

I've given a lot of consideration to this ability myself, and my idea is to give her a short mobility burst on activation. My stipulations for this would be for the base stats to be super low, not to give a huge buff to the existing Ashe. Then to give it a strong scale on AP. This would make AP Ashe more relevant since she does not deal enough damage from building AP from her Q or W. Instead it gives her better safety and helps with her ability to position for her ultimate.

AD Ashe = machine gun AP Ashe = mobile sniper

Does Ashe even build Rageblade anymore? Because if she doesn't, I really doubt Riot's going to make AP Ashe any more of a thing unless they also give her some sort of actual offensive ratio, instead of just making her entirely a Lich Bane + Luden's + 1 100% AP ratio every 100 - 48 seconds.

... Seriously, AP Ashe barely exists more than AP Riven or Darius. I don't see any AP ratios popping up on her that aren't just to make hybrid items feel better on her, and she kind of already has an AP ratio for that on her ult.

Rageblade on Ashe? Probably not. The only thing I see that being good for would be to stack up for her Q, which seems unnecessary. Her passive doesn't do any additional slow with phantom hit.

You're probably right, AP Ashe is most likely never going to be a real thing, but the AP ratios already feels wasted on her Ult because as you said AP does nothing else for her. My theory came from the fact that her E also does very little for her if you aren't playing with a well organized team. Even then it is rarely prioritized. I didn't want to give it anything that would help an AD focused build significantly because she would become unbalanced. Giving her utility seemed to me to be a good way to make her AP on her Ult feel better.

The AP ratio on her ult stems from the fact that she's a very old champion, and old champions used AP to scale their abilities almost exclusively ( which is why you had nonsense like AP Yi and Sion - they followed the same logic until they were reworked to be more modern ). That's why AD's called attack damage and AP ability power, instead of "strength" and "magic power" or something - they were meant to only increase the damage of those specific things, it's just that League's evolved a lot from the game it used to be.

Since then, it's stuck around presumably because it's not abusive in the slightest ( unlike AP Yi and Sion ) and they don't want the ability's damage to actually scale in her normal build, so there's no reason to remove or replace it. Plus it has a side effect of making it so whenever it's meta to build a hybrid item, it feels better because the AP's at least doing something, unlike with, say, Vayne or Draven.

Okay, I see your point in all of that, and I understand that you don't see it happening, but if you could humor me, ...

IF Riot were to do this, do you think it could put some strength back into the hands of AP Ashe? It may not become meta, but could it have a place in the league. Also keep in mind the build as you suggested, Lich Bane and Nashor`s Tooth would likely be core. That gives her AP, mana, CDR, movement speed (which would work well with the active movement speed), on hit magic damage, and the Sheen passive. Plus other AP items. Her passive and W still slows, and her Q stacks fair quickly.

Also consider how this would work to buff her hybrid option, which despite her 100% Ult ratio is still significantly weaker than pure AD Ashe.

Also, I don't want to feel like I've hijacked this persons post. What do you think abut his idea? Do you even think her E needs anything, if so, what's your idea?

P.S. I would even accept a nerf to the AP ratio on her Ult for my idea

That implies she ever had strength.

Which she didn't. Volley is one of the few spells that has been around since the very beginning, yet had an AD ratio.

The only points in time where AP Ashe is even a gimmick build is when URF's around, because those're the only times where she can turn her single AP ratio into a full nuke without immediately not existing beyond literally just being a Nashor's / Lich Bane proc for more than a minute.

The issue with AP Ashe really can't be solved by giving her an AP scaling speed boost, because that does absolutely nothing to solve her problems of having no reason to build AP. If you want to make AP Ashe a thing, basically the only thing you can do is give Volley an AP ratio. Or maybe you could make it so that her Q had some AP scaling to it, too, although I don't think Riot would really intentionally add a build where you do literally the same exact thing as the standard build but you use different items and it's worse.

Teemo's original passive was that he could "scout ahead" because his passive gave him longer sight range... Riot then deemed it being to overpowered.
