A Champion Concept Idea: Sephir, the Sorrow of the Desert.

#Hello Dear Readers.

First, a Little introduction on the Idea. This Champion concept came to my mind after seeing through some of the mages in LoL, since i want to learn how to Play them to indepth widths. But i noticed there is one form of a Mage that would, in my opinion at least, be very interesting to see in the game because i believe his Mechanics would bring a new line of unique to the game. With that in Mind, i decided to get crafty and work on a Design for a Champion concept, which i haven't done in over a year.

> Lore

Sephir in his past grew up to be a Doctor, striving to help the people in Need and gain the necessary Knowledge and ressources to achieve such. In the Desert of Shurima, during it's Prime, he served as the local healer in a small town in the outskirts of the desert, when one day he received a peculiarly wounded Young man to treat, Bitten by the Sandburrowers that haunted the desert.

What Sephir however did not realize: The Person he treated was none other than the Future emperor or Shurima himself, Azir. Said Prince, eager to Please his people, decided an attempt at reducing the numbers of the sandburrowers and got wounded in the fight.

The Prince thanked Sephir for his service once treaten and promised to one day return and assist Sephir in his quest to help the people of Shurima.

However, this day never came.

After the incident with Xerath, Sephir's was just one of the millions of Souls who were destroyed, converted into raw arcan energy for Xerath to absorb for his Ascention.

Time passed, and Sephir's Soul became twisted beyond repair in the tomb that had xerath trapped. Tortured in millenia to serve as an astral battery to the traitor.

When Xerath was Freed, however, due to another betrayal, Sephir's soul broke free. a mere speck in the immeasurable power within the traitor, too meager for his notice. Once free, he took over the nearest body he could find, like an escaped Poltergeist, possessing the person's existence.

What Sephir once was vanished during his inprisonment, and left behind was a twisted opposite of what the healer once strived to be. Broken, Damaged, and lost, Sephir chose to wander through the deserts of Shurima with the goal of spreading his wrath, infesting the living with his sorrow.

Champion Summary: Sephir, as the lore indicated by a bit, would be strongly connected to Shuriman Lore. He would be the one Thing that i feel is left out. The ones who were sacrificed during the incident. We have Azir, the emperor, Xerath, the traitor, Nasus, the Guardian, renekton, the twisted, sivir the apathic, taliyah the oppressed and rammus the good. What i felt like was left out is someone who is the victim, the one who came short in everything that happened. Sephir is meant to fill in this gap that closes the circle of relations. He is meant to represent the people of Shurima who were lost in azir's own overconfidence and xerath's treachery.

And Ingame he is going to represent that aswell. Someone who very dearly punishes mistakes in teamplay, someone who can effectively manipulate the strategy and bait worst case decisionmakings to the unprepared. He is a champion who is essentially spreading nothing good around. His Strengths and weaknesses i will list once the Kit is through.

#Stats

Health: 500 HP +86/lvl Mana: 270 + 40/lvl AD: 46 + 2.8/lvl Armor: 21 + 2.6/lvl MR: 26 + 1.5/lvl Attack speed: 0.561 + 2.75%/lvl Movement speed: 335

  • Passive: Foul Curse Sephir Does not Regenerate any mana or health passively (AKA no HP/mana regen stats). However, Kills and assists refund 5% Missing mana and 10% Missing health. leveling up restores 20% Missing health and 25% Missing Mana. Killing Minions and small Monsters refunds 2% Missing health and 2.5% Missing mana, with a minimum of 15 hp and 20 Mana. Triples refund for Large Monsters.

This is basically the core of the "Unique" Thing what i talked about. A champion who is cost and refund based, a champion who doesn't Regenerate and reward himself with patience, but someone who is very high risk and very high reward. Why that starts with his passive you will see later.

  • Q: Damnation Costs: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 Mana Cooldown: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 Seconds

Sephir roots himself while channeling, up to 2.5 seconds for the Channel. (The Range grows while he channels to a max of 2000 Units.) After 1 Second, Sephir fires a Dark Beam in a targeted direction (Width 80 Units, range 1500 Units, grows to 2000 after 2 seconds), dealing 75 / 110 / 145 / 180 / 215 (+60% AP) Damage to all enemies Hit.

If Sephir does not fire the beam after 2.5 seconds or cancels the channel, Half his manacost and half of his cooldown will be refunded.

  • This is pretty much going to be his bread and butter Skill. good AoE damage, fairly big hitbox, but offers a weakness by immobilizing him completely. This Skill is on first glance just basic, but it gets more indepth aswell.

  • W: Sorrow and Despair Costs: 10% Current Health Cooldown: 5 Seconds

Sephir Sacrifices A Piece of his Life force to restore 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 Mana to himself/herself.

Every Cast applies a "Curse" Debuff that lasts for 2x the cooldown and increases all sources of damage Sephir deals to 3 % per stack, but also increases the costs for his skills by 3% (Both damage amp and cost raise stack additively). Stacks up to 5 times.

  • This is the Skill that is meant to give him this identity of the mage that Plays with dangerous powers, this cursed power that is a really high risk high reward double edged sword. Stacking this up lets him deal deceptive amounts of burst damage, but also means he will run out of mana real quick, and spamming this will also mean he will run out of health real quick, which you will have to restore really fast in order to Keep this up.

  • E: Infested Wave Costs: 70 Mana Cooldown: 12 Seconds

Sephir sends out a slow Wave of Cursed Souls in a cone (60° Cone angle, range 1000, Wave moves with a speed of 800. Comparison. Morgana Q moves with a speed of 1200 (I think) ) that damages Enemies hit for 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 + 6% Of their Max. Health (+1% for every 100 AP) as Magic damage.

Enemy Champions hit are struck with a "Damned" Debuff for 5 seconds.

Sephir can Recast this ability to Quickly Dash towards where the wave was at the moment of the recast.

Consuming "Damned" By Damaging Enemy champions will Reapply the damage done by Infested Wave. If not a single stack of "Damned" is consumed but at least one champion was applied with it, then the Skill cooldown will decrease by 5% Per stack unconsumed.

  • This is a very complicated Ability. It moves very slow, but possesses a wide range and can serve as a means to set up a Combo that effectively Bursts someone into eternal Torment (no pun intended). This Skill has a really great variety of uses and can help clear waves very effectively or zone or even be used as a good escape tool. But, to stay in the Fashion of being a very risky Skill, it serves an Either Or function. you can Either use it as a mobility spell OR you can use it to zone OR you can use it to burst.

R: Condemn the Living. Costs: 100 Mana, 10% Max HP Cooldown: 140 / 110 / 80 Seconds

Sephir Summons after a 1 second delay the Cursed Souls of the Desert in an Area (Cast range 800, AoE range 500 Radius). That grows from inside out within 1.5 Seconds, Slowing every Enemy hit by 30% and dealing 200 / 300 / 400 (+75% AP) Magic Damage.

Enemy Champions hit by Condemn the Living, that have Damned applied are not slowed, but rooted instead, and Condemn the Living will consume and reapply the Damned Stack.

Enemy champions that are Damned but die from this Skill will apply the damage potion from Damned on other nearby champions, prioritizing Champions that are Damned

  • Simple Ultimate Skill. Serves as a really great way to start a fight or to really punish an enemy team that dispositions Badly. it also can really mess up an engage if you combo it right, forcing the team to pracrically disband if they don't want to suffer damage from someone dying.

#Strengths for Sephir are:

  • Great Burst and Combo potential

  • Solid Waveclear

  • Very strong engage and setup Tools

  • Nearly Immortal in lane if played well.

#Weaknesses:

  • Very Immobile if E on cooldown. Easily Picked out if careless.

  • Very Position dependant. a single misstep can result in dying.

  • Can't harrass inlane effectively. His high costs in mana and health make his playstyle rather passive and focused on growth and transition rather than rack up kills in masses.

  • Very Risky. Doing poorly on Sephir punishes you beyond severely.

#Looks:

Sephir would have a really cursed appearance to himself. He would be about 5'10 tall, The Body he took over would be an eldery man, middle long Grey beard, a V shaped hairline with completely bald shaved on the sides. He would have Green eyes with a dark poison-green/Black ish glow in his pupils. His skin would be a dark shade of green and blue (Since the possession Kind of didn't go well he should look somewhat very sick).

His clothing would be standart imaginary Shuriman robes, white with yellow contrasts and gold-yellow lines where the threads connect for the wool. 2 horn like Spikes would come out of his back, reaching upwards and over his shoulders, like hovering plates.

Source of Inspiration for his Apprearance would be Gul'dan. Except some major changes to the statture and facial looks. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/vsbattles/images/3/3b/Gul%27dan_Custom_Fanart.png/revision/latest?cb=20170607164054

#Voice:

  • For his voice, i thought it would fit most if he sounds hollow. Similar to how Kalista is voiced, except it would feel much more echoy, as if he is speaking to you in your head. a weak but very impactful voice.

#Dialogue:

Obviously, Sephir will have some Things to say to the Shuriman champions. Since writing all his lines would be too much, i decided to just single out some taunts, Taunt Responses, joke Responses etc for certain shuriman champions.

> Jokes:

Dying is a really Lifetaker, yknow?

> Joke Response:

Oh stop it, you. You're killing me.

No wonder I curse you Living.

> Joke to specific champions:

Azir: Gurr goes the prince insert weak laughter

Xerath: Downside of all this, you've had so many people inside you.

Yorick: Dying....such a GRAVE topic.

> Taunts:

General: Hold on, let me catch my breath Insert forced breathing This might take a while

Xerath: I escaped you...now the others follow.

Azir: Your failure marked a curse upon the Sands.

Sivir: After i'm done here, i will take all your riches. All. Of. Them.

Cassiopeia: Served you right, snake.

> Dance:

Spooky Scary Sceletons Dance (Specifically where they start, the sidewalk and squat. could do a walk to the left, go down, get up, walk to the right, go down, go up, rinse and repeat)

> laugh

A very subtle, low and sinister laugh which suddenly erupts into a mad outbreak of laughter.

#What do you guys think?

I would write a lot more but after a certain length of writing the lol boards start freezing. I was thinking of even include some selfmade drawings, if only i knew how to upload drawings.

I'd say it's very interesting, but the q doesn't seem to fit. I think a good q for this champion would be something faster. If what you think but a q that is like a wave, throwing sand forward in a straight line kinda fits. Like yorick's e but the size of xerath's q and the range of ezreal's w. I don't what you think but that is what I think about it! Everything else looks interesting and fits together.
